CONCERNING THE LOST TEN TRIBES.

The expression "Brit-Am" appears in the Hebrew Bible twice.

Isaiah (NKJV) 42:
6 I, THE LORD, HAVE CALLED YOU IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND WILL HOLD YOUR HAND; I WILL KEEP YOU AND GIVE YOU AS A COVENANT TO THE PEOPLE (Hebrew: "BRIT-AM"), AS A LIGHT TO THE GENTILES.

Isaiah (NKJV) 49:
8 THUS SAYS THE LORD: IN AN ACCEPTABLE TIME I HAVE HEARD YOU, AND IN THE DAY OF SALVATION I HAVE HELPED YOU; I WILL PRESERVE YOU AND GIVE YOU AS A COVENANT TO THE PEOPLE (Hebrew: "BRIT-AM"), TO RESTORE THE EARTH, TO CAUSE THEM TO INHERIT THE DESOLATE HERITAGES.

In both cases the term "Covenant of the People" (Hebrew: "Brit-Am") refers to the Lost Ten Tribes in their places of Exile. "Brit-Am" may also be viewed as referring to Britain and America. These two nations represent the nations of Joseph, Ephraim and Manasseh. They were to become the main protagonists through which the Prophecies about Israel would come to fruition.

The Bible is True!
The Lost Ten Tribes are among Western Peoples. Britain and its offshoots are dominated by Ephraim, the USA by Manasseh. The other Tribes may also be identified. They include a significant proportion of the inhabitants of Ireland, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. Our movement, "Brit-Am/Hebrew Awareness," is dedicated to spread knowledge of these identifications. The people concerned need to know who they are, and that they and Judah (THE PRESENT-DAY JEWS) have a common destiny.

Biblical Sources:

Judah (the present-day Jews) in the End Times would not know who the Ten Tribes were (Isaiah 49:21). The Ten Tribes would be Lost and on the whole unaware of their ancestry, and practising a non-Jewish religion (Hosea 2:8, 2:13, 2:16 11:12). The exiled Israelites were to become one of the most numerous groups of people on earth (Genesis 15:5, 22:17, 24:60, 32:12, Numbers 23:10, Deuteronomy 1:11, Isaiah 10:22, 24:16, 26:15, Hosea 1:10); to be the most powerful (Genesis 27:9, Numbers 24:7, Micah 5:7-9), to be the richest, to possess the most mineral and agricultural resources (Genesis 27:28, 49:25, Deuteronomy 33:13-16, Hosea 2:8), to live in the best places (Isaiah 41:8-9), to be in islands (Isaiah 42:4, 49:1-6 Jeremiah 31:9-10), peninsulas (Jeremiah 31:8), and at continental extremities (Deuteronomy 33:13, Isaiah 24:16, 26:15, 41:8-9, 49:6), to be sea-farers (Isaiah 42:6), to gain control over strategic points regarding their potential adversaries (Genesis 22:16-17, 24:60), to be like a lion, and unicorn (Numbers 24:8-9), and bald-headed eagle (Micah 1:16), a warrior nation (Numbers 24:7-9, Micah 5:7-9, Deuteronomy 33:27 33:29, Jeremiah 51:20-21, Zechariah 10:7). They would primarily be located to the west and north of the Land of Israel (Isaiah 24:14, Hosea 1:10, Isaiah 49:12( A trail of Megalithic Dolmens would show their pathway of migration from the Land of Israel to their places of settlement in the End Times (Jeremiah 31:21).
Scripture gives numerous other identifying characteristics that taken as a whole can only fit THE one group of people that were to be found in Western Europe especially in Britain and its offshoots in North America, etc.

Jewish and Rabbinical Sources:

Rabbinical Commentators confirm that the verses we quote concerning the Lost Ten Tribes really do apply to them. Jewish legends and traditions from the Second Temple period and shortly afterwards said that the Lost Ten Tribes, Rechabites, and Sons of Moses were to be in the Islands of the Blessed meaning Britain and Ireland.
This is confirmed by Apocryphal Jewish and other writings that have survived from those times and also from Arab sources borrowed from the Jews. Josephus (37 CE - 100 CE) in his paraphrase of the Prophecy of Balaam, wrote concerning the Prophecies to Israel:
# The multitude of your posterity also shall live as well in the islands as on the continent, and that more in number than are the stars of heaven. #
The Bible in the Hebrew original in the Book of Obadiah (1:20) speaks of the First Exile of Israel being in "Tserefat." This term "Tserefat" in Hebrew means France. Rashi (1040-1105) is the most revered Commentator of them all. He says that the Ten Tribes went to "Tserefat" meaning (he says) the Land called France! Abarbanel opines that "Tserefat" refers to France and Britain together. Nachmanides (1194-1270, "Book of Redemption," pt. 1) says that "Tserafat" refers to the Tribes of Joseph at the extremes of the far north who are destined to defeat the arch-adversary Edom.

Historical Studies:
The Lost Ten Tribes moved from the east to the west. The Bible says they did. They could have done this in several ways. Brit-Am Historical Researches reveal the most likely scenario corresponding with present findings:
There were 12 Tribes of Israel in the Land of Israel. After the death of King Solomon they divided into two sections. The southern part, "Judah," gave rise to the ancestors of the present-day Jewish people. The northern portion comprising 10 Tribes were conquered by the Assyrians and entirely taken away, as the Bible says. Archaeological Findings show that following the Assyrian Conquest none of the northern Israelite settlements remained. The had all been destroyed. Biblical Indications combined with historical sources indicate that the Israelites were exiled both (1) by Way of the Sea and (2) Overland.

(1) Way of the Sea. The Assyrians used Edomites from the Land of Idumea and from various other Edomite enclaves in the Middle East to facilitate their policies of transportation. Along with Edomites they also employed Philistines (of Minoan and Mycenean Culture) and Phoenicians from Tyre. Israelites were taken by sea to Spain. From Spain they moved northwards. They were also taken to the British Isles, France, and Scandinavia.

(2) Overland. The majority of the Exiles were moved Overland. They merged with other groups and became known as Cimmerians, Scythians, and Goths. The Bible refers to them as "Gomer," see Hosea chapters 1 and 2. A Rabbinical source confirms the equation of Gomer with Joseph and Israel. These peoples migrated to the west and north and created modern nations in the west. Many may have settled in parts of Germany and other areas of the Continent but they moved out later. Indications are that the mass migrations from Continental Europe to the USA were to a large degree descendants of Hebrews SEPARATING themselves from non-Israelite neighbours and joining their kinfolk.

Contemporary Reality.
The Jews suffered everywhere they were exiled at the hands of everybody. Peoples we identify as descended from the Lost Ten Tribes were and are relatively speaking less anti-Semitic than the others. They are the ones who have been most favourable to the State of Israel and, at crucial moments, of great assistance. They are also the most humane, the greatest upholders of civilized values, and materially usually the most well-off and blessed with natural resources, as predicted. They have done more to elevate and civilize mankind than any other group. Historically they are also all related to each other so that what applies to one is pertinent to the other.

Possible Objections:

Among other things there are those that object that the explanations we give are not compatible with present-day DNA findings. We are studying this and other matters. Brit-Am constantly strives to upgrade its proofs, keeping abreast of the latest findings, adjusting our presentations, adding to the total body of evidence and improving on it. DNA explanations regarding race, etc., are based on portions of the DNA complex. This is presented as evolving constantly and slowly by miniscule increments. This may be the case most of the time BUT plants, fish, and animals in moments of stress acquire DNA enhancements from each other through the air, through water, or via viruses. This can change the DNA of whole species virtually overnight. For example a species of fish may need to change its breeding grounds to other waters with lower temperatures from what it had been used to heretofore. Via Gene Transposon it may receive the needed gene from another species of fish! So too with humans.
