Master Plan

An Outline (19 June 2017, 25 Sivan, 5777)

Why did Isaac wish to give Esau precedence? What was the initial intention for the Israelites when they came out of Egypt and received the Torah? Was there a master Plan for the Hebrews and for all of mankind? Are we now playing out a default scenario? Why were the Ten Tribes exiled? Why did they have to loose awareness of their Identity and become like the Gentiles? What is intended fro the future? Here is an attempt to answer all these questions in outline format.

1. Introduction
The following article is derived from Biblical and Rabbinical sources.
It is not to be considered a Doctrine but rather the outline of possibilities as understood by some and linked together by us.
It is what we understand the situation to be and at the least something to work with.
A more detailed explanation with more referenced sources may be made available later.

2. Jacob (Israel) and Esau: Civilization and Religion
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were the forefathers of the Hebrew Nations.
Jacob and Esau were twin brothers sons of Isaac and Rebecca (Genesis 25:23). .
Jacob was re-named Israel.
Isaac before his death intended to bless Esau
Isaac considered Esau to be fore-ordained military ruler of the world and a civilizing influence over mankind.
Jacob was more the religious aspect that humanity needed.

Rebecca understood that Esau was not suited for the task nor was he destined for it (Genesis 25:23).
Isaac thought it should be allotted to Esau. BOTH aspects of the promise however needed to go to Jacob.
Jacob needed to receive the blessing from his father Isaac by pretending to be his brother, Esau.
Isaac after being deceived realized that Jacob was to receive BOTH portions (Genesis 27: 33, 28:3-4).
Nevertheless Esau was also promised military might, fertile land, and a role of his own (Genesis 27:39-40)

Esau was destined to become the antagonist of Jacob (Genesis 27:41).
In the future part of Esau will be wiped out, apparently by Joseph (Obadiah 1:18). They who remain will repent and will assist Jacob in his task.

3. Moses and the Torah: The Plan for all Mankind
The Israelites went down to Egypt with 12 forefathers of the Tribes and 70 souls (Genesis 46:8-27).
Each individual one of the 70 families eventually became clans and sub-groups within the Tribes (Numbers 26:5-50).
Under Moses they came out of Egypt, received the Torah.
They were supposed to keep the Torah, establish a Kingdom, and bring all of mankind to acknowledge God and adhere to a minimum level of moral requirements (Maimonides).
Under Joshua they conquered the Land and divided it among the Tribes.

4. Solomon and his Near-Success
Solomon was the King over all the Tribes of Israel.
Solomon ruled over the whole of the Promised Land.
Solomon built the Temple in Jerusalem.
Solomon married a 1000 women (700 wives and 300 concubines 1-Kings 11:3) from all nations of the earth.
The intention of Solomon was to convert the women and through them influence all the Gentiles [Source: Hasidic sources, especially Rabbi Nachman of Bratslav].
Solomon failed. Instead of Solomon influencing the women in a positive direction they turned his heart away to a negative one (1-Kings 11:4).
It was decreed that the kingdom be divided (1-Kings 11:12-13, 31).

There was a Divine Purpose for this, cf.

1-Kings 12: 24: Thus saith the LORD, "Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel: return every man to his house; for this thing is from me."

5. Division
The Israelite Kingdom was divided into two parts (1-Kings 12:24.
The Ten Tribes were in the north.
Judah was in the south.
Judah was supposed to keep the Torah.
Israel was to do social justice

Eventually they were to re-unite.
Both sides failed in what was expected of them.

6. Sundering Apart
Finally, it was decided that both parts would be exiled. This was in order to have the two tasks carried out. It was a temporary measure even though it was to last a long time and is still continuing.

(a) Ten Tribes to Civilize Humanity
The Ten Tribes before their Exile were already practically pagans and had assimilated pagan culture.
They were to loose consciousness of their ancestry, descend to the level of the pagans and become altogether like them.
Their membership of the Israelite Polity in the spiritual realm would be suspended.
They became the Lost Ten Tribes of Israel who today are to be found mainly among Western Peoples.
They were to go down to the level of the Gentiles, become like them, and then evolve upward dragging the non-Israelite peoples with them to a higher level.

This is what they have done, more or less. They have elevated themselves and all mankind with them.
They are still doing it.
In the physical sense look at the Green Revolution carried out recently.
By virtue of this enterprise 100s of millions of people are alive today who otherwise would have perished.
Such instances are not rare. The world forgets about this.

The Wikipedia article describes the application of scientific findings and technologies.
It fails to emphasize the conscious effort on the part of US government and private agencies to make these efforts succeed.

(b) Judah to Develop Judaism
Judah became the Jews.
They were scattered all over the earth.
Judah gave rise to Judaism that brought Torah Study to very high levels.
This to some degree is still maintained among the Jews mainly by the Hareidim.
Today the Jews of Judah have began to come back to the Land of Israel.
Most of those who are not in Israel are among Nations in which the Ten Tribes have dominated.
Examples of such nations include the USA, UK, France, Netherlands, Belgium.
Judah has begun the process of re-incorporating the two aspects of Israelite existence, i.e. the physical and spritual.
Judah in a sense is preparing the way for all the other Tribes.
Support for Judah in the Land of Israel is an all-Israelite duty in our time.
This should be made known.

7. Coming Together

The two halves will re-unite.
North America, Britain and the Atlantic coast will be incorporated in the Land of Israel.

The Biblical borders of the Promised Land in the Middle East will be recovered.
The Land will be healed, see:

Israelites will return to dwell in those areas. This includes Lebanon, and Syria, as well as the State of Israel and the regions of Judah and Samaria.
The lands of Israel shall be divided among the Tribes. Each Tribe will dwell in its own territory.
The Temple will be rebuilt.

[God says that HE will send HIS messenger before HIM to prepare the way and rebuild the Temple (Malachi 3:1). Rav Saadia Gaon (b. ca. 890 CE) and Iben Ezra (1080-1164 CE) said that the MESSENGER is the Messiah son of Joseph. The Messiah son of Joseph [Mashiach ben Yoseph], according to the Malbim (1809-1879) and others will be the future head of the Lost Ten Tribes when they return to re-unite with Judah.]

This last stage has not yet been reached. It could be however that we are building up to it.
Different Prophecies indicate that wars and disasters and upheavals may yet be needed to catalyze both sides into seeing who they really are!
Nevertheless eventually they will know what is what.
They will re-unite.
Religious differences will be resolved by an acknowledgement of the righteousness of Judah (Genesis 49:8).
At present there is no need for this since neither side is ready for it.
Christianity serves a purpose in this intermediate period.
The most important point at present is to increase knowledge of Israelite ancestry, to encourage support for Israel, Biblical awareness, and good lives.
