Are the Germans from the Ten Tribes? (3 May 2017, 6 Iyar, 5777)T
Introduction
We identify who the Lost Ten Tribes by Biblical and Empirical Evidence. This supplies us with Points of Criteria that work.
Wefinds the Lost Ten Tribes as being pre-eminently among the peoples of Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Wales, Ireland, North Ireland, Scotland, and England with their offshoots overseas in Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.
We use certain characteristics as Brit-Am Criteria to determine which nations have historically been dominated by Israelites and which have not.
The Criteria are:
1. Blessings: Economic and Physical Blessings as promised to Israel in Scripture.
2. Indications of Scripture.
3. Groundwork: Historical, Archaeological, and Related Proofs showing paths of migration.
4. Judah: Affinity with the Jews.
5. Originality: Innovation and Intellect.
6. Bravery, Military Prowess.
7. Empathy: The Doing of Social Justice.
8. Israelite Self-Identification.
9. Family Connection.
10. Tribal Affiliation.
These Criteria are expounded upon at more length below.
In order to be recognized as derived from Israel a nation needs to confirm with as many of the points as possible. Most nations recognized by us meet all of them. There are some nations that meet some of the points but fail on others. The Bible already indicates this possibility. The blessings to Esau (Genesis 27:28-29) , for instance, according to the simple Hebrew are very similar to those given to Jacob i.e. to Israel (Genesis 27:39-40).
We were asked whether or not Germany may be consdiered an Israelite nation. we thereofre applied the Criteria to Germany and came up with a negative answer despite Israelites having sojourned in Germany in the past.
The Criteria Applied to Germany:
1. Blessings: Germany has been blessed on the whole. Germany however has also suffered more than most nations we consdier to be Israelite. There was the Thirty Years War (1618-1648) that wiped out a good portion of the German population and disturbed the geneaological rectitude of the family geneaologies. There were also the defeats after World Wars 1 and 2 and other troubles. The Blessings that Germany has received may also be attributed to those of Esau/Edom (Genesis 27:28-29) that in some ways were similar to those of Israel (Genesis 27:.39-40).
2. Indications of Scripture. These include such matters as large populations etc that also apply to Germany.
3. Groundwork: Historical, Archaeological, and Related Proofs showing paths of migration.
This applies to Germany since many of the Israelite tribes did pass through Germany and sojourn there. Hosea chapter 1 speaks of the Ten Tribes being affiliated with Gomer who together with Esau is represented by Germany.
4. Judah: Affinity with the Jews.
Germany has NO real affinity with the Jews. Germany like other nations was always rife with Hatred of the Jews. In Germany this hatred acquired extermination intentions.
5. Originality: Innovation and Intellect.
Germany has this.
6. Bravery, Military Prowess.
Germany has this.
7. Empathy: The Doing of Social Justice.
Germany has this to some degree but mainly only tom itself and here again reservations must be made.
8. Israelite Self-Identification.
Germany lacks this. On the contrary the Germans were always marked by a tendency to distance themselves from the Jews and from Ancient Israel as much as possible.
9. Family Connection. Germany lacks this in our opinion though some hold otherwise. We do not consider the Angles and Saxons etc who invaded England to have been related to the Germans of Germany even though they spoke a similar language. Others disagree with us on this point.
10. Tribal Affiliation.
We do not accept any proposed affiliation of an Israelite Tribe with the German people. On the contrary we identify them with Edom and with Gomer son of Japhet and with others but not with Israel.
Of the 10 criteria Germany meets, to some degree, 6 of them but seriously fails in some of the others i.e. nos 4, 8, 9, 10. Numbers 4 and 8 are especially important in so far as Germany veers very strongly in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION on these points.
