1. What Should Have Happened.

The article below is a partial re-hash of material treated at more length elsewhere. Nevertheless, it includes new insights, is worthwhile and helps us understand important points in the Bible and history.

The Israelites when they came out of Egypt were still a relatively small people. Nevertheless they had great potential. They were supposed to increase and multiply to dominate the earth and civilize mankind.
On the way to doing that they were supposed to fight and conquer the peoples around them, hone up their abilities, and go on to conquer the world and elevate humanity.

Judges (TCT) 3:
1 NOW THESE ARE THE NATIONS WHICH THE LORD LEFT THROUGH WHOM TO TEST ISRAEL, ALL THOSE THAT HAD NOT KNOWN ALL THE WARS OF CANAAN.
2 ONLY THAT THE GENERATIONS OF THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL SHOULD KNOW, TO TEACH THEM WAR, JUST THE EARLIER ONES DID NOT KNOW THEREOF.

In war people get killed and much suffering and loss of property is caused.
On the other had, Wars often also stimulate progress and cause peoples to
hasten the development of their own unique capabilities.

A. The Three Reasons NOT ALL the Canaanites were expelled.
1. To test Israel (Judges 2:22).
2.  To teach them warfare (Judges 3:2).
3  In order that the Land remain settled and cultivated until the Israelites them selves had grown in numbers (Exodus 23:30, Deuteronomy 7:22 ).

The Optimum Process was that the Israelites desist from intermixing with the Canaanites and expel them when the time was ripe to do so.
They could not do it. They were not up to the task at the time.
Instead of becoming a mighty kingdom and influencing humanity it was the others who influenced them. Instead of defeating and driving out those who needed to be so treated they let the Canaanites remain with them, intermixed with them, and became like them.

2. Israelites Tribes Intermixing with the Pagans.

In Judges chapter 2 we saw that:
 
Judah did not drive out the inhabitants of the Valley.
2:18 AND JUDAH CAPTURED GAZA WITH ITS TERRITORY, AND ASHKELON WITH ITS TERRITORY, AND EKRON WITH ITS TERRITORY.
19 AND THE LORD WAS WITH JUDAH, AND THEY DROVE OUT THE INHABITANTS OF THE MOUNTAINS; BUT THEY COULD NOT DRIVE OUT THE INHABITANTS OF THE VALLEY, FOR THEY HAD IRON CHARIOTS.

Benjamin left the Jebusites to dwell among them.
21 AND THE CHILDREN OF BENJAMIN DID NOT DRIVE OUT THE JEBUSITES THAT INHABITED JERUSALEM; AND THE JEBUSITES DWELT WITH THE CHILDREN OF BENJAMIN IN JERUSALEM UNTIL THIS DAY.

Manasseh let the Canaanites remain and they (the Canaanites) were pleased to do so.
27 AND MENASSEH DID NOT DRIVE OUT THE INHABITANTS OF BETH-SHEAN AND ITS TOWNS, TAANACH AND ITS TOWNS, THE INHABITANTS OF DOR AND ITS TOWNS, THE INHABITANTS OF YIBLEAM AND ITS TOWNS, THE INHABITANTS OF MEGIDDO AND ITS TOWNS; AND THE CANAANITES WANTED TO REMAIN IN THIS LAND.
28 AND IT WAS WHEN ISRAEL BECAME STRONG, THAT THEY PUT THE CANAANITES TO TRIBUTE, BUT THEY DID NOT DRIVE THEM OUT.

Ephraim let Canaanites dwell among them.
29 AND EPHRAIM DID NOT DRIVE OUT THE CANAANITES THAT DWELT IN GEZER; AND THE CANAANITES DWELT AMONG THEM IN GEZER.

Zebulon let Canaanites dwell among them.
30 ZEBULUN DID NOT DRIVE OUT THE INHABITANTS OF KITRON, NOR THE INHABITANTS OF NAHALOL; AND THE CANAANITES DWELT AMONG THEM AND BECAME TRIBUTARY.

So we have Judah, Benjamin, Manasseh, Ephraim, and Zebulon, all leaving substantial foreign populations in their midst. 5 Tribes.

After that we find that not only did the Tribes of Asher and Naphtali also not drive out all the Canaaanites but they themselves dwelt as minorities in their own Tribal domains! 2 tribes.

31 ASHER DID NOT DRIVE OUT THE INHABITANTS OF AKKO, NOR THE INHABITANTS OF ZIDON, NOR OF ACHLAB, NOR OF ACHZIB, NOR OF CHELBAH, NOR OF APHIK, NOR OF RECHOB.
32 AND THE ASHERITES DWELT AMONG THE CANAANITES, THE INHABITANTS OF THE LAND; FOR THEY DID NOT DRIVE THEM OUT.
33 NAPHTALI DID NOT DRIVE OUT THE INHABITANTS OF BETH-SHEMESH, NOR THE INHABITANTS OF BETH-ANATH; AND HE DWELT AMONG THE CANAANITES, THE INHABITANTS OF THE LAND. AND THE INHABITANTS OF BETH-SHEMESH AND OF BETH-ANATH BECAME TRIBUTARY TO THEM.

The Tribe of Dan also did not succeed in  expelling the Canaanite-Amorites.
34 AND THE AMORITES FORCED THE CHILDREN OF DAN TO THE MOUNTAIN; FOR THEY WOULD NOT LET THEM COME DOWN TO THE VALLEY.
Later the House of Joseph conquered and ruled over the Amorites in the area formerly allocated to Dan (Judges 1:36).
Much (possibly most) of the Tribe of Dan moved elsewhere such as to Dan in the Galilee and to Smal of the Dananu in southeast Anatolia (Turkey).

That makes for 8 Tribes.
Judah, Benjamin, Manasseh, Ephraim, and Zebulon
Asher and Naphtali
Dan

Levi, Simeon and Issachar are not mentioned.
Neither are Gad and Reuben who were east of the Jordan River. The Israelites under Moses had previously all the lands there and driven out or exterminated all the heathen (Deuteronomy 3:3, 6).
So too, the Israelites had previously defeated the Midianites and wiped out all them apart from "32,000 women who had never slept with a man" (Numbers 31:35).
These women presumably became part of the Israelites nation.
The Clan of Jethro (who were  a branch of the Midianites) also became part of Israel.
Levi was the Priestly Tribes at first spread out among the others but later mostly converging on Judah (2-Chronicles 11:14).

Simeon was scattered among the other Tribes though a section of them did move out to the north (1-Chronicles 4:42) and helped give rise to the Khazars many of whom later converted to Judaism and re-attached themselves to Judah.

3. The Canaanites who remained with Abraham. Western Europe and America.

There were 12 nations of Canaan.

Genesis (TCT) 10:
15 AND CANAAN BEGOT ZIDON (Sidon) HIS FIRSTBORN AND HETH.
16 AND THE JEBUSITES AND THE AMORITES AND THE GIRGASHITES.
17 AND THE HIVVITES AND THE ARKITES AND THE SINITES.
18 AND THE ARVADITES AND THE ZEMARITES AND THE HAMATHITES, AND AFTERWARDS THE FAMILIES OF THE CANAANITES WERE SCATTERED.

Only 11 are listed above, but the Commentators explain that "Canaan" was both a generic name for all the Canaanite Peoples and a specific term for one of the groups among them.
The 12 Canaanites Tribes are:
Canaan
Sidon
Heth (Hittites)
Jebus
Amor
Girgash
Hivivite
Arkite
Sinite
Arvadite
Zemar
Hamath

Abraham was promised to dispossess 10 out of these 12.
Genesis (TCT) 15:
18 ON THAT DAY, THE LORD FORMED  A COVENANT  WITH  ABRAM, SAYING, "TO YOUR SEED I HAVE GIVEN THIS LAND, FROM THE RIVER OF EGYPT UNTIL THE GREAT RIVER, THE EUPHRATES RIVER.
19 THE KENITES, THE KENIZZITES, AND THE KADMONITES,
20 AND THE HITTITES AND THE PERIZZITES AND THE REPHAIM,
21 AND THE AMORITES AND THE CANAANITES AND THE GIRGASHITES AND THE JEBUSITES."

Out of the 10 there were 3 that were not apportioned immediately to Israel when they entered the land. These 3 were:
The Kenites, the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,

Rashi quotes a source saying that:
The  Kenites went to  Amon.
The Kenizzites went to  Moab.
The Kadmonites went to Edom.

The Talmud (Baba Batra 56a) asks: To exclude what area? The Gemara answers: To exclude the lands of the Kenite, Kenizzite, and Kadmonite, as God had promised to Abraham at the Covenant between the Pieces: “To your offspring have I given this land…to…the Kenite, and the Kenizzite, and the Kadmonite” (Genesis 15:18­19). These areas are not obligated in tithe. What are these three areas? It is taught in a baraita that Rabbi Meir says: They are Naftua, Arva’a, and Shalma’a. Rabbi Yehuda says: They are Mount Seir, Ammon, and Moab. Rabbi Shimon says: They are Ardisekis, Asya, and Aspamya. 

The Hatam Sofer and his commentators equated these three as areas bordering the Atlantic Coast of Western Europe (and America) that the Lost Ten Tribes and Judah will inherit in the End Times.
These areas are now inhabited by Canaanites i.e. Kenites (Amonites), Kennizites (Moabites), and Kadmonites (Edomites), and by Israelites from the Lost Ten Tribes and by part of Judah.

4. The Canaanites who remained.
These are the peoples the Israelites did not drive out.

Judges 5:                       
3 THE FIVE LORDS OF THE PHILISTINES, AND ALL THE CANAANITES, AND THE ZIDONIANS, AND THE HIVITES THAT DWELT IN MOUNT LEBANON, FROM MOUNT BAAL-HERMON TO THE   PASSAGEWAY  OF HAMATH.

FIVE LORDS OF THE PHILISTINES: In Hebrew "Seren" probably from the root "sar" to rule. In Modern Hebrew "Seren" mean "captain". In Biblical
Hebrew the term "seren" is found only with the Philistines. It is thought
that "seren" is the source for the Greek term "tyrannos" (from which we have "tyrant") meaning local self-appointed ruler. The Philistines were linked in a federation of five cities that also reminds of us of similar
leagues of cities  in Greece at the time.

SIDONIANS: This was another name for the Phoenicians in general. The
two major Phoenician cities were Tyre and Sidon and Tyre was considered "a
daughter of Sidon".
 
THE ENTERING IN (Passageway) OF HAMATH. In Hebrew "Lebo Hamath". It is thought that
this is the name of a city. Some propose  placing it north of Damascus and
others even further north in southeast Turkey. Hamath in the Bible is the
name of a region as well as a city. In Biblical terms "Hamath" refers more
often than not to the complete region of northern Syria and southeast
Turkey. This is roughly the true northern boundary of the Land of Israel.

Judges 3:
4 AND THEY WERE TO TEST THROUGH THEM ISRAEL, TO KNOW WHETHER THEY WOULD OBEY THE COMMANDMENTS OF THE LORD WHICH HE HAD COMMANDED THEIR FOREFATHERS THROUGH MOSES.
5 AND THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL DWELT AMONG THE  CANAANITES, THE HITTITES, AND THE AMORITES, AND THE PERIZZITES, AND THE HIVITES, AND   THE JEBUSITES.

DWELT AMONG: In some areas true Israelites were actually in the minority.  This applied especially to the Tribes of Asher whom we identify with the Irish and the Tribe of Naphtali many of whom settled in Norway.

6 AND THEY TOOK THEIR DAUGHTERS TO THEMSELVES FOR WIVES, AND THEIR OWN DAUGHTERS THEY GAVE TO THEIR SONS, AND SERVED THEIR GODS.
They intermarried with the Canaanites and must have borne children from them.

5. Pagan Customs from  the Canaanites among Western Peoples.

Judges 3:
5 AND THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL DID THAT WHICH DISPLEASED THE LORD, AND THEY FORGOT THE LORD THEIR GOD, AND SERVED THE BAALIM AND THE ASHEROTH.

The Druids amongst the Celts also served Bel in the groves.
The Asheroth were sacred groves possibly dedicated to a goddess.
We find such Cults in Ancient Celtic Culture and also among the Anglo-Saxons.
Bede tells us that the pre-Christian Anglo-Saxons had a goddess named Eostre (cf. Asherah) 'in whose honor feasts were celebrated.'
The pagan Anglo-Saxons also dwelt in"booths" on one of their festivals similar to the Hebrew feast of Succoth.

6. Othniel Judge of Israel.

8 AND THE ANGER OF THE LORD WAS KINDLED AGAINST ISRAEL, AND HE GAVE THEM OVER INTO THE HANDS OF  CUSHAN-RISHATHAIM, KING OF ARAM-NAHARAIM; AND THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL SERVED CUSHAN-RISHATHAIM EIGHT YEARS.
9 AND THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL CRIED TO THE LORD, AND THE LORD RAISED UP A SAVIOR TO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL WHO SAVED THEM;  OTHNIEL THE SON OF KENAZ, CALEB'S BROTHER, WHO WAS YOUNGER THAN HE.
10 AND THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD CAME UPON HIM, AND HE JUDGED ISRAEL; AND HE WENT OUT TO WAR, AND THE LORD DELIVERED INTO HIS HANDS  CUSHAN-RISHATHAIM THE KING OF ARAM; AND HIS HAND PREVAILED UPON CUSHAN-RISHATHAIM.

CHUSHAN-RISHATHAIM: This  name connotes the meaning "The Cushite who was doubly evil".  A
similar name is recorded in Mesopotamian records probably meaning something else but the Hebrews sometimes rendered foreign names according toth e meaning in their own tongue.
the inner essence of this evil oppressor.
The Kassites (Cushites) at that time ruled over Babylon in Lower Mesopotamia
and  CHUSHAN RISHATHAIM may have been one of them.

THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD CAME UPON HIM.  Othniel was from Judah. He
received Divine Inspiration to go out and fight against the enemies of
Israel. The enemies of Israel are the enemies of God Almighty.

We see that the majority of Israelite Tribes intermixed with the Canaanite Nations.
Later the northern 10 Tribes were to exiled and move outwards losing consciousness of its ancestry.

7. Mixing with the Canaanites resulted in  Exile.

Psalms (TCT) 106:
34 THEY DID NOT DESTROY THE PEOPLES WHOM THE LORD HAD TOLD THEM [TO DESTROY].

35 AND THEY MINGLED WITH THE NATIONS AND LEARNED THEIR DEEDS.

36 THEY WORSHIPPED THEIR IDOLS, WHICH BECAME A SNARE FOR THEM.

37 THEY SLAUGHTERED THEIR SONS AND DAUGHTERS TO THE DEMONS.

38 THEY SHED INNOCENT BLOOD, THE BLOOD OF THEIR SONS AND DAUGHTERS WHOM THEY SLAUGHTERED TO THE IDOLS OF CANAAN, AND THE LAND BECAME POLLUTED WITH THE BLOOD.

39 AND THEY BECAME UNCLEAN THROUGH THEIR DEEDS, AND THEY WENT ASTRAY WITH THEIR ACTS.

40 AND THE LORD'S WRATH WAS KINDLED AGAINST HIS PEOPLE AND HE DETESTED HIS INHERITANCE.

41 AND HE DELIVERED THEM INTO THE HANDS OF NATIONS, AND THEIR ENEMIES RULED OVER THEM.

42AND THEIR FOES OPPRESSED THEM, AND THEY WERE HUMBLED UNDER THEIR HAND.

43 MANY TIMES HE SAVED THEM, BUT THEY WERE REBELLIOUS WITH THEIR COUNSEL, AND THEY WERE HUMBLED BECAUSE OF THEIR INIQUITY.

44 BUT HE LOOKED UPON THEIR DISTRESS WHEN HE HEARD THEIR CRIES.

45 AND HE REMEMBERED HIS COVENANT FOR THEM, AND HE RELENTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH HIS ABUNDANT KINDNESS.

46 AND HE CAUSED THEM TO BE PITIED BY ALL THEIR CAPTORS.

This passage may be speaking about the Jews but it also to the Ten Tribes who were exiled to areas of the Assyrian Empire and eventually moved to areas of Western Europe.

 2-Kings (TCT) 17:
6 IN THE NINTH YEAR OF HOSHEA, THE KING OF ASSYRIA TOOK SAMARIA AND EXILED THE ISRAELITES TO ASSYRIA, AND HE REPATRIATED THEM IN HALAH, AND IN HABOR, THE GOZAN RIVER, AND THE CITIES OF MEDIA.
7 AND IT WAS, WHEN THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL SINNED TO THE LORD THEIR GOD, WHO BROUGHT THEM UP FROM THE LAND OF EGYPT, FROM UNDER THE HAND OF PHARAOH THE KING OF EGYPT, AND THEY FEARED OTHER GODS.
8 AND THEY FOLLOWED THE STATUTES OF THE NATIONS WHOM THE LORD HAD DRIVEN OUT FROM BEFORE THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL, AND [OF] THE KINGS OF ISRAEL THAT THEY PRACTICED.
9 AND THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL FABRICATED THINGS WHICH WERE NOT SO ABOUT THE LORD THEIR GOD, AND THEY BUILT THEMSELVES HIGH PLACES IN ALL THEIR CITIES, FROM WATCHTOWER TO FORTIFIED CITY.
10 AND THEY ERECTED FOR THEMSELVES MONUMENTS AND ASHERIM ON EVERY HIGH HILL AND UNDER EVERY GREEN TREE.
11 AND THEY BURNED INCENSE THERE ON ALL THE HIGH PLACES, LIKE THE NATIONS THAT THE LORD HAD EXILED FROM BEFORE THEM, AND THEY DID EVIL THINGS TO ANGER THE LORD.
12 AND THEY WORSHIPPED THE IDOLS, WHICH THE LORD HAD SAID TO THEM, "YOU SHALL NOT DO THIS THING."
13 AND THE LORD WARNED ISRAEL AND JUDAH THROUGH ALL PROPHETS OF ALL VISIONS, SAYING, "REPENT OF YOUR EVIL WAYS, AND KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS, MY STATUTES, ACCORDING TO THE ENTIRE LAW THAT I COMMANDED YOUR FOREFATHERS, AND THAT I SENT TO YOU THROUGH MY SERVANTS, THE PROPHETS."
14 BUT THEY DID NOT HEED, AND THEY HARDENED THEIR NAPE LIKE THE NAPE OF THEIR FOREFATHERS WHO DID NOT BELIEVE IN THE LORD THEIR GOD.
15 AND THEY DESPISED HIS STATUTES AND HIS COVENANT THAT HE HAD ENACTED WITH THEIR FOREFATHERS AND HIS WARNINGS THAT HE HAD WARNED THEM, AND THEY FOLLOWED WORTHLESS THINGS AND BECAME WORTHLESS, AND AFTER THE NATIONS THAT WERE AROUND THEM, CONCERNING WHOM THE LORD HAD COMMANDED THEM NOT TO DO LIKE THEM.
16 AND THEY FORSOOK ALL THE COMMANDMENTS OF THE LORD THEIR GOD, AND MADE FOR THEMSELVES TWO MOLTEN CALVES, AND THEY MADE AN   ASHERAH, AND THEY PROSTRATED THEMSELVES BEFORE THE ENTIRE HOST OF THE HEAVENS, AND THEY WORSHIPPED THE BAAL.
17 AND THEY PASSED THEIR SONS AND DAUGHTERS THROUGH FIRE, AND THEY PRACTICED ENCHANTMENT AND DIVINATION, AND THEY COMMITTED THEMSELVES TO DO WHAT WAS EVIL IN THE EYES OF THE LORD, TO ANGER HIM.
18  AND THE LORD BECAME VERY MUCH INCENSED AGAINST ISRAEL, AND HE SENT THEM AWAY FROM BEFORE HIM; NONE WAS LEFT BUT THE TRIBE OF  JUDAH ALONE.
19 NEITHER DID JUDAH OBSERVE THE COMMANDMENTS OF THE LORD THEIR GOD, AND THEY FOLLOWED THE PRACTICES OF ISRAEL THAT THEY DID.
20 AND THE LORD DESPISED ALL THE SEED OF ISRAEL, AND HE AFFLICTED THEM, AND DELIVERED THEM INTO THE HANDS OF PLUNDERERS UNTIL HE CAST THEM AWAY FROM BEFORE HIM.

8. The Historical Task.

Despite the Hebrews not driving out the Canaanites as they should have done the task remained. The Israelites therefore were themselves to be driven out, become the same as the Gentiles and bit by bit progress forward dragging the non-Israelites with them.

Rabbi Moses David Valle (sometimes written as "Vali"), lived 1697 - 1777 CE,

Hosea 13:
1 When Ephraim spoke, trembling,
    he was exalted in Israel.
    But he incurred guilt through Baal worship and he died.

In Hebrew the  expression "trembling" "retet." It connotes "reverbation." When Ephraim speaks or acts it has a resonating effect on the rest of Israel (and on the world).

Hosea 14:2 Valle. # ... The impurity and debasement of the Ten Tribes was not their true nature. The Power of Repentance can elevate a Person to a greater height than he ever had before.
The Israelites have an innate purity. They therefore do not have to try very hard to return to where they should have been if they had not sinned.
The non-Israelite people are not like this.... #

Hosea 14:8 Valle: # It is a known matter that Israel did not descend into the Realms of Pollution other than for the Need to Clarify his Destiny. He needed to fulfill the will of God and reform the world through redirecting its forces. When this is done they shall return to their Source. There will be no need to remain in that situation any more. This is the meaning of,  'Ephraim shall say, 'What have I to do anymore with idols?'" (Hosea 14:8). #

9. An Anecdote from Yair Davidiy.. Quotation from Rabbi Avraham Feld.
When Yair Davidiy was young in Australia he once worked in a warehouse. One of the senior co-workers had in his youth served with the British in what  was then know as "Palestine."
He sympathized with Palestine Arabs and claimed the Jews had starved them out in 1948.
Nevertheless, he grudgingly accepted the right of the State of Israel to exist.
I knew less then concerning what had happened then I do now.
I am not sure what stage of the Conflict he was referring to.  Historically the Arab Palestinians who left did so as a result of the war they themselves had began.
At all events:
 On 29 November 1947, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution recommending the adoption and implementation of a plan to partition the British Mandate of Palestine into two states, one Arab and one Jewish, and the City of Jerusalem.
Bans of Arab volunteers known as the Arab Liberation Army entered the Land from  outside. They  included mercenaries and volunteers who were mainly Syrians, Lebanese, Palestinians and a few hundreds of Iraqis, Jordanians, Muslim Brotherhood from Egypt, Circassians, and Bosniaks. There were also a few German, Turkish and British deserters. They were controlled from Damascus in Syria. They moved into Arab settlements in Palestine and commenced hostilities against the Jews. Their presence resulted in dislocations and fiction with the local Arabs they had moved in with. Many of the wealthier Arabs moved out to the east. Those who remained were shortly afterwards ordered by the combined Arab Forces to move out as well and leave the way open for a massacre of the Jews, - that (thank God) did not materialize. Meanwhile the Jews defeated the Arab Liberation Army as well as the  League Armies which included the forces of Egypt,   Transjordan, Syria, and expeditionary forces from Iraq. In the course of the War more Arab civilians were expelled and many more fled.

Anyway, getting back to my work-mate lone of the arguments he came up with was that many of the Jews were probably not descended from the Ancient Hebrews who had previously dwelt in the Land.
I replied that the Jews are both a religion and a nation.
In the same way as a nation (such as the USA and Australia) accept newcomers who come in and become "naturalized" so can Judaism and the Jews as a people accept others. One accepted they are the same as all the rest.

Ezekiel (TCT) 47:
21 AND YOU SHALL DIVIDE THIS LAND AMONG YOURSELVES ACCORDING TO THE TRIBES OF ISRAEL.
22 AND THAT WILL BE WHAT YOU ALLOT AS A HERITAGE, FOR YOURSELVES AND FOR THE STRANGERS WHO DWELL IN YOUR MIDST, WHO WILL BEGET SONS IN YOUR MIDST, AND THEY WILL BE TO YOU AS CITIZENS AMONG THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL; WITH YOU THEY WILL INHERIT OF THE INHERITANCE IN THE MIDST OF THE TRIBES OF ISRAEL.
23 AND IT SHALL BE IN THE TRIBE WITH WHICH THE STRANGER SOJOURNS, THERE YOU SHALL GIVE HIS INHERITANCE, SAYS THE LORD GOD.

Rabbi Avraham Feld in an Approbation to our book, "The Tribes" said:

# One of the purposes of the dispersion of the Ten tribes of Israel was to bring about a social and ethical improvement and enrichment of the nations. They were to repair the social fabric of the societies they found themselves in.

All of mankind can find meaning and proximity to God through the Bible:
"I call heaven and earth to bear witness that any person, Jew or Gentile, man or woman, freeman or slave, if his deeds are worthy, then Divine Inspiration will descend upon him" (Tana DeBei Eliahu 9).
To quote the Sage and Prophet Joel, "I will pour out My spirit on all flesh" (Joel 3:1). #

10. Canaanites Amongst us? What is to be done?
it may be that non-Israelties and Canaanites are among the peoples we live with. We ourselves may be part of them.
Nevertheless, one way or other, we need to identify with the Bible, with Judah, and with the Lost Ten Tribes.
We need to identify with the Hebrews of the Bible.
If we belong to Judah or to the Lost Ten Tribes we should strengthen our identity.
We may not be sure on an individual level but we can be reasonably certain  concerning the Tribes we live amongst.
We should strengthen that certainty by supporting Brit-Am and learning Brit-Am/Hebrew Awareness sources.
We should also by assisting Brit-Am help others to know the way
Everything has a reason.

11. Mixed Multitudes and the future.

In the article above we have discussed the presence of foreign Canaanite peoples among us. A related issue is that of the Mixed Multitude. These were foreigners who came up with the Israelites out of Egypt and stayed with them. 

In  essence we all have some of the alien lineages inside of us alongside those of the Ancient Hebrews. Hasidic Rabbis wrote on this matter. We need to become better people and to strengthen the Hebraic side we do have. Make a beginning and the Almighty will lead us further along the way.
