2. Conventional Argument. Does the DNA Change?.
They claim that the Yamnaya from southern Russia and/or (or via) the Bell Beakers from central Germany invade the British Isles, 2400-2000 BCE..
They kill all the males but keep the females alive. In Britain they bring very few (if any) women with them but copulate with the local ladies who have all become widows.
It takes about 100 to 200 years for all the native males to disappear. Nor do they leave any male children who are allowed to survive?
Disease may also be a factor. It is proposed that a mysterious sickness kills off all the men?
Problems.
The home bases of the newcomers show a mixture of haplogroups though R1b is dominant. In Britain there is only R1b and none of the others.
Also what happened to most of their wives in the home country?
Did they wipe out all the males include baby boys but keep only the girls alive?
We have traces of some of the Yamnaya ladies outside of Britain but very few , if any, inside of it. Scientifically how is it possible for a disease to kill only male adults and infants?.

In Anatolia (home of Neolithic farmers) haplogroups R1b and J2 were closely associated historically and often found together.
Perhaps they interchanged with each other?
In nature do such changes take place when needed?

Starting from the British Isles as representative of the most extreme example:
At first a land-bridge existed between Britain and Ireland and Britain and the Continent via Doggerland in the northeast.
This is considered to have ceased around 7000 BCE. We suspect that it was closer to ca. 400 BCE or less.
Archaeological Findings plus DNA studies indicate that:
In the Beginning we have the Hunter-Gatherers.
There were 2 types:
An earlier one which was more primitive.
These INCLUDED Neanderthals who were inbred products of incest. Then came the Mesolithics or modern man.ca. 35,000 BCE. dark skin, blue eyes, lactose intolerant.
A later version of Hunter Gatherer, included some R1b..
These were often tall and muscular.
Their men were a mixture of haplotypes including R1b.
After them came the (Neolithic) European Farmers.
These are considered as originating in Anatolia neighboring Syria ca. 4000 BCE. Modelled as having about 75% ancestry from Anatolian farmers near where Abraham the forefather of the Hebrew People grew up. The remaining ca. 25% coming from Western Hunter-Gatherers (WHG) in continental Europe.
The most common paternal haplogroup among EEFs (Early European Farmers) was haplogroup G2a. Haplogroups E1b1, and R1b have also been found.
Their maternal haplogroups consisted mainly of West Eurasian lineages including mt haplogroups H2, I, and T2. Significant numbers of central European farmers belonged to East Asian maternal lineage N9a, which is almost non-existent in modern Europeans, but common in East Asia. (The high frequency of the East Asian mitochondrial haplogroup N9a in Neolithic cultures of the Carpathian Basin was disputed by another study).
Yamnaya - Bell Beakers.
After the European Farmers came the Yamnaya. These were accompanied shortly by the Bell Beakers OR the Bell beakers may have been Yamnaya arriving via the Continent.
The spread of the Bell Beaker culture to Britain from the lower Rhine area in the early Bronze Age introduced high levels of (Yamnaya) steppe-related ancestry, resulting in a near-complete change of the local gene pool within a few centuries, replacing about 90% of the local Neolithic-farmer derived lineages between 2400 BC and 2000 BC,[20] there had not been any steppe ancestry found in DNA samples that derived from burials before this time.[21] This genetic replacement was in contrast to the spread of Bell Beaker culture in continental Europe which was accompanied by little genetic replacement.[21] The people in the British Isles exhibiting the Beaker culture were likely an offshoot of the Corded Ware (a Yamnaya offshoot) culture, as they had little genetic affinity to the Iberian Beaker people.[22][23] With the large steppe-derived component, they had a smaller proportion of continental Neolithic and Western Hunter Gatherer DNA.[22]
Both men and women with Steppe ancestry participated in the turnover as evidenced by the rise of the paternal haplogroup R1b-M269 and maternal haplogroups I, R1a and U4. The paternal haplogroup R1b was completely absent in Neolithic individuals, but represented more than 90% of the Y-chromosomes during Copper and Bronze Age Britain.[22] The study also found that the Bell Beaker arrivals in Neolithic Britain had significantly higher genetic variants associated with light skin and eye pigmentation than the local population, but low frequencies of the SNP associated with lactase persistence in modern Europeans.[22]
An earlier study had estimated that the modern English population derived somewhat just over half of their ancestry from a combination of Neolithic farmer and Western Hunter Gatherer ancestry, with the steppe-derived (Yamnaya-like) element making up the remainder. Scotland was found to have both more Steppe and more Western Hunter Gatherer ancestry than England. These proportions are similar to other Northwest European populations.[24]
Genetic evidence suggests that there was significant migration to Southern Britain of people from the adjacent mainland at the end of the Bronze Age around 1000 BC, around a millennium after the initial Bell-Beaker migration. This migration may have introduced the Celtic languages to Britain.[17] Patterson et al. (2021) believes that these migrants were "genetically most similar to ancient individuals from France" and had higher levels of Early European Farmers (EEF) ancestry.[25] - but less R1b?
Yamanya had first been found in Central Asia and southern Russia. They consisted of different groups. The Sintashe ware considered the most similar to the group that settled in Britain. Their culture was Middle Eastern in origin.
The first phase of the Sintashta-Petrovka complex, c. 2200 - 1750 BCE. neigfhborign Orenburg. The Indo-Iranian languages are believed to have originated there. Considered a branch of the Corded Ware culture an offshoot of the Yamnaya.
The Corded Ware culkture reached from the east into Northern and Central Europe.
DNA Studies indicate THAT ONLY A FEW 100 YEARS DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN CORDED WAR CULTURE AND SINTASHA.
There was no time to gradually differentiate.
The Beaker invasion of Britain was paralleled by a 40-54% ancestral contribution of so-called "steppe ancestry" in the DNA of modern Central & Northern Europeans, and a 20-32% contribution in modern Southern Europeans, excluding Sardinians (7.1% or less), and to a lesser extent Sicilians (11.6% or less).
According to Malmstream et al. (2019), neither R1a nor R1b-M269 have been reported among Neolithic populations of central and western Europe, although they were common among earlier hunter gatherers of Eastern Europe.[77] Haak et al. note that their results suggest that these haplogroups "spread into Europe from the East after 3,000 BC."

The majority of CWC (Corded War Cukture) -men carried haplogroup R1a-M417, the remaining ones R1b and I2a.[77] Note that, although related to the Corded Ware population, Yamnaya males mainly carried R1b-Z2103, while R1b-bearing Corded Ware males had R1b-L51, suggesting that Corded Ware culture males cannot be directly patrilineally descended from Yamnaya individuals.

Other groups exist with several aspects in common with the Yamnaya culture.[b] Yamnaya material culture was very similar to the Afanasievo culture of southern Siberia, and both cultures' populations are genetically indistinguishable.[9] This suggests that the Afanasievo culture may have originated from the migration of Yamnaya groups to the Altai region or, alternatively, that both cultures developed from an earlier shared cultural source.[10]

Nicholas Rascoan published in 2019 that the native European farming populations had already
collapsed by 60 to 70% [music] before the Yamnaya set foot on European soil. The
cause was Yinia pestus, the plague bacterium which had been spreading through Neolithic farming communities
for generations. The Yamnayah had lived alongside cattle for centuries. They had been exposed to
the bacterium repeatedly. Their immune systems had adapted. When they moved
west into a continent already devastated by disease, they were not conquering a
strong and settled Europe. They were walking into a dying one. The gene that saved them was HLA DRB1,
identified by Barry and colleagues in Nature in January of 2024.
