1. Foundation of the Ephraimites.
The Ephraimites may be considered as a break-off movement from the Jews for Jesus otherwise known as Jewish Messianics.
Many Gentile Christians were attracted to the Jewish Messianic movement of Jews or pretended Jews acting as Christians.
Some of these Gentiles in the past were not pleased with how the Messianic Jewish organizers related to them.
They broke away and set up the Ephraimite Movement.
This said that Christians could also consider themselves Israelites since they had been either spiritually adopted into Israel and/or were physical descendants of Israelites through the Ten Tribes.

2. Yair Davidiy and the Ephraimites
Yair Davidiy (Brit-Am/Hebrew Nations) also recognized that the Ten Tribes were amongst Western Peoples. Yair used evidence from the Bible, Rabbinical and Secular Sources. Yair Davidiy is an Orthodox Jew and justified what he said from accepted Orthodox Jewish Commentaries.
There were Ephraimites who saw an affinity between Yair and themselves.
This still exists to some degree but in recent years has cooled off.

3. Criticism of the Ephraimties from a Jewish Point of View
There were Ephraimites who were anti-Jewish, in some cases almost in the worst sense possible.
Recently a pseudo Ephraimite (Joseph Dummon from Sighting Moon) activist attacked Yair by quoting from Aryan Nations sources disparaging the Jews.
Many Ephraimites seemed to be walking around with a chip on their shoulder: They express resentment of the Jews for not relating to them as being the same as Jews and therefore deserving of New Immigrant status in the Land of Israel.
Others seemed to be constantly looking for reasons to differ with the Jews. They invent their own calendars or adopt that of the American Anti-Jewish Karaites. Some also adopted Karaite-type teachings as a matter of preference, regardless as to what Scripture REALLY does say. This is inimical to most Jews.
Ephraimites are also often deeply steeped in Conspiracy Theories that verge on anti-Jewish doctrines.
Many Ephraimites also do not hide their burning desire to convert Jews to Christianity.
There are also Ephraimites who emphasize a kind of spiritual belonging to Israel and are against the emphasis on physical ancestry as taught by Yair Davidiy.
All of the above are negative points though most Ephraimites are positive. They may be confused or wavering from one position to another.

4. Ephraimites Against Yair Davidiy
There is a feeling that leading Ephraimites have turned against Yair.
We have not found anything that has been written unequivocally. Verbally we have received hints and a few half-hearted acknowledgments.
Nobody came out in the open with any concrete complain or accusation. On the contrary, when confronted their leaders deny any major differences of approach or opinion. Some of the rank and file however have not been so reticent.
A strong impression exists that Yair Davidiy and Hebrew Nations have become almost anathema in Ephraimite eyes.
In one instance, we were accused of trying to spread Jewish teachings and undermine Christianity.
This is not so but it is what was being said.
There were also personality issues and a number of other points of an amorphous nature resulting in a negative attitude towards us.
In the past we used to be invited now and again to give talks to Ephraimite groups. We would usually receive a small fee and also sell a few books. The money was useful. The audience also invariably was enthusiastic. We made contacts. People liked us. The leadership however for some reason evidently did not. The invitations ceased coming years ago.
In principle, the interest of Ephraimites and Yair Davidiy should overlap.
In practice this is not so.
There are Ephraimites nowadays who do not really want to draw close to Judah. They prefer Karaite impostors, anti-Semites, and Conspiracy Theories. They are not really interested in Biblical or Rabbinical sources. Certain Jews are however tolerated when it is thought that through them other agendas may be furthered.

5. Positive Points about Ephraimites
All of the criticisms above do not apply to ALL Ephraimites. Perhaps most of them are not in the above negative categories though there are those who are.
There are good Ephraimites who believe they are descended from Israelites.
They consider the Jews their brothers.
They believe in the Bible and like many Christians today search to emphasize the original Hebrew origins of Christianity.
Amongst the supporters of Brit-Am are such people. Eddie Chumney, for instance, has always been a supporter of ours and there are others.
More on these matters is to be found in existing articles on our web-site and more may be discussed later.
