The Return of Joseph and What is the Point of it all? (2 July, 2013, Tammuz 24, 5773)
Descendants of the Ten Tribes should know of their ancestry in order to enhance their performance of Israelite Tribal Tasks their countries have. As individuals they need to heighten their Biblical consciousness and do what they must as Hebrews.

Recently we chanced to meet up with Joe (a pseudonym). Joe is about our age plus a bit more. Joe originally hails from Europe. He once was loosely attached to one of the Worldwide Church of God (of W. H. Armstrong) congregations but they more or less expelled him for heretical attitudes. He later converted to Judaism and now lives in Israel. He has always taken an interest in the Lost Ten Tribes, in the Ephraimite movement, and in Brit-Am. His interest however has been from a distance meaning he has not read much about it all but rather listened more to the thoughts of others.
The meeting with Joe and the ensuing dialogue is of interest.
Joe asked about the Ten Tribes movement in general.
We said it still exists but does not seem to be expanding much, at least not from our point of view.
Joe asked how and when they will return and can they come back now?
He asked questions that we have dealt with in detail in a series of articles.

We explained that we find descendants of the Ten Tribes amongst certain nations. They may constitute anywhere from 15 to 90 per cent of the population. We cannot say. At all events we can see that historically they have influenced their peoples and the countries they live in to a significant degree. Their countries may be considered Biblical entities. This means that even if some of them are not full descendants of Israel the fact that they live among and identify with a grouping that is Biblically Israel then they too belong.
There is however a lack of definite certainty at the individual level. No-one may be absolutely sure. In the future this will change.
At the present most descendants of the Ten Tribes should not think of coming to Israel but rather of confirming their Biblical Ancestry and consciousness in the places they now live in.
Ezekiel says that the Ten Tribes will return and re-unite with Judah. Even after their returning however they will not be attached to Judah but each Tribe will have its own Tribal territory.
There is also the problem of religion and keeping the commandments. These matters will be resolved in the Messianic Age.
[Along with the positive results of these beliefs Yair and Joe discussed certain negative phenomenon that have also surfaced in the Ephraimite and related scene such as anti-Jewish sentiments, eccentric assertions of religious enthusiasms, and negative influences on Jewish youth, etc.]
What then is the point of it all?
We can say that concerning certain groups a significant degree of probability exists that many of them are of Israelite descent. As groups they have GROUP OBLIGATIONS. These are important and worth making public.
Evidence of ancestry exists. It too should be made known, enhanced, and added to.
The Bible has much to say on these matters.
This too should be taught and studied.
Eventually Judah will play a role in awakening the Ten Tribes to their ancestry.
The pathway to the heart of Judah is both direct and through the Ten Tribes themselves.
We do not have to have all the answers but we can do what we can and the Almighty will guide us the rest of the way.
