When the Israelites entered the Land of Canaan they were commanded to drive out the inhabitants.
They were warned that if they did not fulfil this commandment then they themselves would be driven out of the land.
Numbers 33:
50 In the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 51 Speak to the Israelites, and say to them: When you cross over the Jordan into the land of Canaan, 52 you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, destroy all their figured stones, destroy all their cast images, and demolish all their high places. 53 You shall take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given you the land to possess. 54 You shall apportion the land by lot according to your clans; to a large one you shall give a large inheritance, and to a small one you shall give a small inheritance; the inheritance shall belong to the person on whom the lot falls; according to your ancestral tribes you shall inherit. 55 But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those whom you let remain shall be as barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides; they shall trouble you in the land where you are settling. 56 And I will do to you as I thought to do to them.
The Israelites did not drive out all of the Canaanites. Instead they intermixed with them as we are told in the Book of Judges.
They learnt their ways.
Consequently they were punished and driven out of the Land.
First the Ten tribes were exiled and lost their identity (2-Kings ch.17).
Later the Jews of Judah were also exiled.
The Jews retained their identity and returned and rebuilt the Temple that had been destroyed.
Eventually the Romans came and destroyed the Second Temple and dispersed the Jews.
Now the Jews have come back. They have established the State of Israel
The Jews of Judah are in a sense preparing a way for all of the Israelites.
The other Israelites who were the first to be exiled became the Lost Ten Tribes.
They lost awareness of their ancestry but stayed together. Today they are to be found amongst Western Nations.
In the Bible they are often referred to by the generic name Ephraim though to be more precise Ephraim means the descendants of Joseph amongst the English-speaking peoples.
In the End Times Judah (the Jews) and the Ten Tribes headed by Ephraim will re-unite.
Isaiah speaks of this.
Isaiah 11:
10 On that day the root of Jesse shall stand as a signal to the peoples; the nations shall inquire of him, and his dwelling shall be glorious.
11 On that day the Lord will extend his hand yet a second time to recover the remnant that is left of his people, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Ethiopia,* from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the Isles of the sea.
12 He will raise a signal for the nations,
and will assemble the outcasts of Israel,
and gather the dispersed of Judah
from the four corners of the earth.
13 The jealousy of Ephraim shall depart,
the hostility of Judah shall be cut off;
Ephraim shall not be jealous of Judah,
and Judah shall not be hostile towards Ephraim.
14 But they shall swoop down on the backs of the Philistines in the west;
together they shall plunder the people of the east.
They shall put forth their hand against Edom and Moab,
and the Ammonites shall obey them.
Isaiah in the above passage speaks of the re-unification of Ephraim with Judah.
Isaiah is obviously referring to a time in the future which has not yet come.
Nevertheless there is a principle that whatever the Bible speaks of favorably is something we should strive to fulfill.
Isaiah 11:14 speaks of Judah and Ephraim acting together to fly the Palestinians to somewhere in the west.
Isaiah 11:
14 But they shall swoop down on the backs of the Philistines in the west;
Also translated (RKJ) as:
THEY SHALL SWOOP DOWN UPON THE SHOULDER OF THE PHILISTINES IN THE WEST
in the Hebrew original this in fact reads:
"ve-afu be-ketef plishtim yama yachdav"
i.e. THEY TOGETHER SHALL FLY BY WING THE PHILISTINES AWAY WESTWARD.
IN OTHER WORDS,
THEY (Ephraim and Judah) TOGETHER, SHALL FLY BY WING THE PHILISTINES AWAY to some place in the west!
The word translated as Philistines in Hebrew is Plishtim. The Land of the Plishtim was called Philisitia. This, from the Latin, became our word Palestine.
This is where the word Palestinian comes from.
That is,
Ephraim and Judah will co-operate in flying the Palestinians to some place in the west.
This may be especially pertinent to Gaza since Gaza in Biblical times was a major Philistine city.
We are speaking to you at present while a war is going on around us. We are in the midst of Operation Protective Edge (July, Ausgust, 2014).
At present Israel is fighting against Hamas.
Hamas controls the people of Gaza completely.
They have a self-destructive impulse.
The Founding Charter of Hamas says that Jews are inherently evil and that the State of Israel must be destroyed at all costs.
This is what they intend to do no matter what the cost to themselves.
Logically the best solution would be to exterminate them since that is what they want to do to the Jews and may well do if they ever (God forbid) achieve the ability.to do so.
They are allies with Iran whose leadership also wants to exterminate Israel and believes that by doing so they will cause the Islamic Messianic Era to appear.
The Jews however cannot exterminate the Arabs since they are incapable of doing so.
Also the world would not allow it. Jewish communities all over the world in effect serves as hostage communities so that the Jews of Israel always have to remain within the consensus of what is rationally and universally accepted. The Jews on thwe whole are also soft. They are merciful even when they suffer because of it. Let us admit it. This is for the better. One can think of worse faults. They cannot treat others in a pernicious fashion. Therefore since we cannot kill them all let us at least move them away. If you cannot bear to put a dog out of its misery and you will not lock it up then you can only take it far away and let it go.
If the Arabs (especially those of Gaza) were to be transferred elsewhere it might work. Under the right guidance and rulership they might just settle down, get on with their livesm and forget about killing Jews at all costs.
If an Ephraimite Nation such as the USA or the UK would help the Jews in this project it could well succeed.
With moderate use of force together with outright bribery in the form of generous compensation and assistance in re-settlement the Arabs of Gaza and elsewhere in Israel could be moved to some place in the west, say Paraguay or Argentinia.
One or other of the Latin American countries if given enough money would probably agree to accepting a million or more Arabs into its midst. This is not too many, especially if generous economic advantages are to accompany it.
Histroy would judge us by the end result.
If say 50 years from now all the Palestinians are in Latin America, did not suffer too much in the movement overseas, and are relatively happy there then no one would say anything.
The Bible suggests this solution.
The Bible present this solution as (by implication) the best possible one.
Let us try it.
Judah and Ephraim need to get together and help the poor Palestinians move out of the way of harm and needless aggravation.
People who feel sympathy for the Palestinians and identify with them should also be persuaded to accept this solution.
Many Palestinians themselves would want it and agree to it.
With a bit of good will, serious effort, and genuine intentions it could work.
