(a) Re'im music festival massacre
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Re%27im_music_festival_massacre
Extracts:
On 7 October 2023, Hamas militants initiated a surprise invasion of Israel from the Gaza Strip and massacred 260 civilians, injured a greater number, and took an unknown number of hostages at the "Supernova Sukkot Gathering", an open-air psychedelic trance music festival celebrating the Jewish holiday of Sukkot near the Re'im kibbutz.
At 6:30 am around sunrise, rockets were noticed in the sky. Around 7 am, a siren warned of an incoming rocket attack, prompting festivalgoers to flee. Subsequently, armed militants, dressed in military attire and using motorcycles, trucks and paragliders, surrounded the festival grounds and indiscriminately fired on individuals attempting to escape. Attendees seeking refuge in nearby locations, such as bomb shelters, bushes, and orchards, were killed while in hiding. Those who reached the road and parking were trapped in a traffic jam as militants fired at vehicles. The militants executed some wounded individuals at point-blank range as they crouched on the ground.
Scheduled to coincide with Jewish holidays: the final day of Sukkot (6 October) and Simchat Torah (7 October),[3] the rave was billed as a celebration of "friends, love and infinite freedom". The festival site had three stages, a camping zone, and an area with a bar and food.[3] Attendees described the crowd as mostly consisting of Israelis of ages 20-40 from across the country.[5] Attendance was reported to be 3,500, but figures vary. Security guards and police were present at the festival.
Some of the Hamas gunmen who attacked the festival infiltrated Israel via motorized paragliders, arriving around 6:30 am.[
Witnesses have reported that some of the captured women have been raped.  Testimonies were also provided by eyewitnesses who survived the massacre. The event's organizers, Osher Vaknin and his twin Michael Vaknin, were killed in the attack.

(b) What was the party in the desert?
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/oct/09/how-the-hamas-attack-on-the-supernova-festival-in-israel-unfolded
Extracts:

The Supernova music festival, billed as 'a journey of unity and love' with 'mindblowing and breathtaking content', began at around 10pm on Friday, just hours after the end of Israel's week-long Sukkot religious festival.

Thousands of young people signed up for the party in a place 'stunning for its beauty' but were not told of the exact location until a few hours before. It was Kibbutz Re'im, 3 miles from the Gaza border.

Valentina Gysak said she was was a 'bit worried' when her 21-year-old daughter Margarita said she was planning to attend the festival. 'I suspected there may be drugs and alcohol but my daughter told me: 'Don't worry, I'm just there to dance and have fun,'' Valentina said.

As the sun rose on Saturday, the party was still in full swing when several small black dots appeared in the sky, caught on one partygoer's phone. As the dots came closer, it became clear they were motorised paragliders approaching from the direction of Gaza in the west.
The beat of the music became confused with gunfire as Palestinian militants stormed the festival. A siren went off, warning of incoming rockets, followed by gunshots. Some attendees tried to raise the alarm while others remained oblivious.

(c) 2023 Hamas attack on Israel
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2023_Hamas_attack_on_Israel
Extracts:

The attack began in the early morning with a rocket barrage of at least 3,000 missiles against Israel and vehicle-transported incursions into its territory.[

At around 6:30 a.m. Israel Summer Time (UTC+3) on Saturday 7 October 2023,[36] Hamas announced the start of the operation, stating that it had fired over 5,000 rockets from the Gaza Strip into Israel within a span of 20 minutes. Israeli sources reported that at least 3,000 projectiles had been launched from Gaza. At least five people were killed by the rocket attacks. Explosions were reported in areas surrounding the Strip and in cities in the Sharon Plain including Gedera, Herzliyya, Tel Aviv, and Ashkelon.[ Air raid sirens were also activated in Beer Sheva, Jerusalem, Rehovot, Rishon Lezion, and Palmachim Airbase.

Simultaneously, around 2,900[42] Palestinian militants infiltrated Israel from Gaza using trucks, pickup trucks, motorcycles, bulldozers, speedboats and paragliders.  Images and videos appeared to show heavily armed and masked militants dressed in black fatigues riding pickup trucks  and opening fire in Sderot, killing dozens of Israeli civilians and soldiers and setting homes on fire.  Other videos appeared to show Israelis taken prisoner and a burning Israeli tank,  as well as militants driving Israeli military vehicles.

An Israeli military spokesman stated that the militants from Gaza had entered Israel through at least seven locations and invaded four small rural Israeli communities, the border city of Sderot, and two military bases from both land and sea. Israeli media reported that seven communities came under Hamas control, including Nahal Oz, Kfar Aza, Magen, Be'eri, and Sufa.  The Erez Crossing was reported to have come under Hamas control, enabling the militants to enter Israel from Gaza.
At 10:00 am, less than five hours after the attacks began, fighting was reported at Re'im military base, headquarters of the Gaza Division.[ It was later reported that Hamas took control of the base and had taken several Israeli soldiers captive before the IDF regained control later in the day.  The base was reportedly the location of IDF drone and surveillance operations. Hamas reportedly posted video of dead Israeli soldiers it had killed at the base. The police station of Sderot was reported to have come under Hamas control, with militants killing 30 Israelis, including policemen and civilians.

Militants killed civilians at Nir Oz,[41][60] Be'eri, and Netiv HaAsara, where they took hostages[61][62] and set fire to homes,[5] as well as in kibbutzim around the Gaza Strip.[5] 200 civilians were killed in the Kfar Aza massacre, 108 in the Be'eri massacre, and 15 people in the Netiv HaAsara massacre.[63][64]

A number of hostages were taken back to Gaza. On 16 October, Hamas claimed it held 250 hostages.[

At least 1,400 Israelis were killed, including 1,033 civilians[14], 299 soldiers and 58 police officers. The attack left over 3,400 wounded,[79] and 200 soldiers and civilians taken hostage.[15] On 19 October 2023, Israeli officials reported an additional 100 to 200 missing. Israeli casualties include about 70 Arab Israelis, predominantly from Negev Bedouin communities. On 7 October, over 100 civilians were killed in the Be'eri massacre, including women and children; and over 270 attendees were killed at a music festival in Re'im.[19] As of 10 October, over 100 people had been reported killed in the Kfar Aza massacre, with the total death toll unknown.

At one kibbutz, first responders stated that of 280 bodies recovered, around 80% showed evidence of torture. Groups of children were allegedly found tied up and burned alive. At the music festival, there was said to be mass killing but less time for torture compared to the kibbutzim. Approximately 70% of bodies were claimed to have been shot in the back.

(d) The Party in the desert was Against the Torah!
Scheduled to coincide with Jewish holidays: the final day of Sukkot (6 October) and Simchat Torah (7 October)  the rave was billed as a celebration of "friends, love and infinite freedom".
Attendance was reported to be 3,500, but figures vary.Security guards and police were present at the festival.
Some of the security guards were Arabs. Some of these Arab security people may have tried to protect Jews but others helped the attackers pointing out where Jewish victims were tyring to hide.
The event took place on a day that was both Shabat and a Holy Day.
It involved libertarine-type slogans, lewd dancing, scantily dressed attendees, imbibing drugs, and other offences.
It cost us more than 260 dead, many wounded, and hostages that we many have pay a heavy price to free assuming that some stay alive.

Where is the outrage against Netanyahu and the IDF for failing to protect Israelis?
https://www.quora.com/Where-is-the-outrage-against-Netanyahu-and-the-IDF-for-failing-to-protect-Israelis/answer/Yair-Davidiy
According to initial reports, often the best ones, there was a delay by the IAF (Israeli Air Force) due to a misunderstanding of where the events where happening. On the morning of October 7th, 2023, the day of Shabat and Simchat Torah, It was not certain whether the hostilities involved local Arabs or Arabs from Gaza. Apparently the IAF did not want to strike against Arabs from Israel within the 1967 borders, or something like that. By the time they realized their mistake much of the damage had been done. It took them 5 to 6 hours to react instead of six minutes! Before then, elements within Israeli society including former senior IAF people had been threatening not to answer the call of military duty in the future. The reason they gave for their threatened revolt was that they were dissatisfied with the duly-elected government of Israel attempting to reform the anti-Jewish self-appointed Supreme Court that reigned supreme. This artificially manufactured delay, if it happened, of the IAF may have been an expression of the new ideological bias. Some of the former IAF 'experts' still refer to this in interviews they give on the situation. One might think they did a favor in finally showing up when they were needed! Even a recent article on Quora by a political 'Establishment' pundit wrote along the same lines!

And who are the pilots involved? They are the elite of the military and of Israeli society. If you become a pilot in the IAF you are set for life. if you apply for a well-paying job or governmental position you will have priority, all other things being equal. You also may benefit from social contacts and government assistance on other fronts.

And how do you get to be an IAF pilot? When inducted into the IDF you make an application. You are then tested and have to pass a rigorous course. In principle only the best are selected. If at the beginning there are more suitable applicants than needed other considerations apply. It helps if your parents live in certain areas, with a well-defined socio-economic status, and have an overall political-ideological understanding of reality that is 'acceptable'. This makes for a homogeneity of viewpoint and contributes to camaraderie. Many in Israel now feel that if the scope was widened we would not be susceptible to de facto blackmail

Were the Jews telling me that the Muslims in Israel were treated equally when they cannot travel freely in the West Bank?
https://www.quora.com/Were-the-Jews-telling-me-that-the-Muslims-in-Israel-were-treated-equally-when-they-cannot-travel-freely-in-the-West-Bank/answer/Yair-Davidiy

We need to distinguish between the State of Israel and the West Bank which legally is considered Occupied Territory. Within the State of Israel Muslims are treated reasonably on the whole apart from some security considerations. In some areas they have more leeway than Jews do. On the West Bank (i.e. Judah and Samaria) no-one can travel freely since the region is contested. Jews are liable to be lynched or worse if they wander into certain areas (even by accident) in the West Bank. Conversely Muslims are also restricted as to what degree they may enter Jewish locales. Nevertheless, in normal times Muslims are able to enter many (probably most) of the Jewish enclaves with relative freedom whether to work, shop, or even just visit. An ongoing state of tension exists between the two parties. This is the reality. Enough grievances exist without inventing new ones.

It was also asked, Why the Jews do not leave the West Bank?

The West Bank is needed for strategic depth, security of water resources, for manifold reasons. The West Bank from the point of view of the Bible and historical association is the Most Important portion of the area. It is the Arabs who should leave. Most Israelis are under the mistaken impression that they can live alongside the Arabs. The Arabs however do not want them and are not prepared to accommodate them. Very good.

Has Netanyahu squandered the support given following Hamas' attack on 7 October? Has he snatched defeat from the jaws of victory?
Answer by Yair Davidiy.
Bible Studies and Historical ResearchesJust now
I disagree with PM Netanyahu on many points. In some ways he is a closet liberal like one of his ideological forebears, Zev Jabotinskly (1880 - 1940), was. Nevertheless, unlike his opponents, Netanyah usually knows what he is doing. The political commentator and former MK, Chaim Rimon, once remarked: 'Netanyah plays chess while all the others play checkers.' It is not only a matter of terminating Hamas ASAP. We also have to neutralize and hopefully eliminate Hizbullah, cripple Iran if possible, maintain the West Bank intact, keep Turkey at bay, and deal with the harmful intent of Syria, Yemen, and other entities along with the devious nefarious machinations of Russia. There are numerous other complications. If anyone can get the job done Netanyahu is the one. Like him or not in this case he seems the best candidate to do what is needed. And he has the means.
