1. Casualty Update.
On 7 October 2023, Hamas-led militant groups launched a surprise attack on Israel, in which 1,195 Israelis and foreign nationals, including 815 civilians, were killed, and 251 taken hostage with the stated goal of forcing Israel to release Palestinian prisoners.
Some of the hostages were killed after torture and abuse in captivity while others have been released. 50 captives now remain in the hands of Hamas (as of 11th August, 2025).
The Arabs claim that over 61,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed and more than 152,000 injured.
Over 100,000 Israelis were internally displaced at the height of the conflict.
Israel now rules directly over 2/3 of the Gaza strip area but not over the most heavily populated section.

2. Media Incitement - A War Aim.
The world press is maintaining an incessant barrage of anti-Israel popaganda claiming that Israel has killed and committed atrocitities and is deliberatedly starving the Palestinians.
Israel is fighting a war of survival. Most of these claims are false.
The aim of this anti-Israel activity is to heighten world support for Hamas and Gaza and induce the military involvement of other nations (such as the UN) against Israel.
Hamas regularly uses hospitals as bases and civilians as human shields. Supplies of food are hijacked by Hamas and destroyed or resold at seriously inflated prices.
Hamas wants the Arabs to suffer and its suffering be made known. The World Media and Academia backed by money from Qatar and eslewhere wants the People of Gaza to suffer as much as possible just so long as Israel can somehow be blamed for it.
This is an aspect of their war strategy.
Protests against Israel are not intended to alleviate the plight of the Palestines but rather to destroy the Jewish presence in Israel and elsewhere.

3. Background: The Rise of Hamas.
In 1948 Israel declared its Independence after defeating local Arab forces and surrounding Arab nations.
The West Bank was occupied by Jordan and the Gaza Strip by Egypt.
Attacks were launched by Egypt and by local Arab terrorists from Gaza against Israel. This is known as the War of Attrition (1967-1970).
In 1967 following the Six-Day War, Israel took control of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. There were two major uprisings against Israel,
the First Intifada (1987), and the Second Intifadas (2000). In 2005 Israel unilaterally withdrew from Gaza.
Before then Israel had set up 21 Jewish settlements in the area. These were successful and economically productive. Upon withdrawing Israel dismantled all of these settlement and forcibly evicted its own citizens from the region.
Israel continued to control aspects of the external affairs of Gaza. Since its beginning Gaza (and the Palestinians in general) have been receiving aid and intensive support from the UN. The UN Personnel involved are usually from Arab or Third-World countries and are often intensely anti-Jewish.
In 2007 Hamas took over control of Gaza. Hamas is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood had been funded by Nazi Germany probably since 1934. It is virulently anti-Jewish in every way and always has been. They assisted the Nazis during WW2.
In recent times, the primary state backers of the Muslim Brotherhood have been Qatar and the AKP-ruled Turkey. As of 2015, Hamas has been considered a terrorist organization by the governments of Bahrain, Egypt, Russia Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The Islamic Resistance Movement, also known as the HAMAS, is an extremist fundamentalist Islamic organization operating in the territories under Israeli control. The aims of Both the Shiite Muslims in Iran and the Sunnis elsewhere is not only to defeat Israel but also to destroy the USA and the West in general. Russia to some degree and China especially suupport Iran and the Arabs in these aims.

4. The 2023 War

October 7, 2023 was both a Shabat and the Jewish holidays of Simchat Torah and Shemini Atzeret.
In the early morning between 3,000 and 5,000 rockets from the Gaza Strip were fired into Israel within a span of 20 minutes, killing at least five people. Simultaneously, around 3,000 Hamas militants broke through the border fence surrounding Gaza and invaded Israel using trucks, motorcycles, bulldozers, speedboats, and paragliders. The attacks came in tow major waves, first regular Hamas trained soldiers led the attacks followed by an equal number of civilians from Gaza who spontaneously followed on after the professionals went in first. These "volunteers" included adult males, teenagers, some adult women. An adult male on crutches was viewed among these cililians who had come to loot Jewish settlements. Hostages were taken both by Hamas professionals and by civilian volunteers. Homes burnt down, babies killed, adults killed, rape and sexual assaults perpetrated, and so on. Many of these atrocities were filmed by Hamas itself. Some of the footage was posted on the Media but has mostly since been removed.
"Hamas officials stated that the attack was a response to the Israeli occupation, blockade of the Gaza Strip, desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Israeli settler violence against Palestinians, restrictions on the movement of Palestinians, and imprisonment of thousands of Palestinians, whom Hamas sought to release by taking Israeli hostages."

Israel responded by heavy bombing and ground-force attacks.
Most of the Hamas leadership was wiped out. Several of the leaders however had taken refuge in Qatar.
The Gaza offensive of israel was accompanied by the destruction of the Hizbollah in Lebanon and the death of its leaders, seeing the regime of Assad in Syria overthrown and most of the Russian advisors evicted, the bombing of Nuclear sites in Iran and attacks against its military and strategic outposts. The Houthi in Yemen were also bombed following their missile and other attacks against Israel.
All this took place while Israel benefited from the support and close cooperation of the USA, and de facto involvement of other nations on its side especially the UK.

5. Qatar
The intense propaganda directed against the Jews and Israel at present under the guise of sympathy for the Palestinians is funded and to some degree directed by Qatar.
Qatar is the home of the Al-Jazeera News Service.

# I disagree with PM Netanyahu on many points. In some ways he is a closet liberal like one of his ideological forebears, Zev Jabotinskly (1880 - 1940), was. Nevertheless, unlike his opponents, Netanyah usually knows what he is doing. The political commentator and former MK, Chaim Rimon, once remarked: 'Netanyah plays chess while all the others play checkers.' It is not only a matter of terminating Hamas ASAP. We also have to neutralize and hopefully eliminate Hizbullah, cripple Iran if possible, maintain the West Bank intact, keep Turkey at bay, and deal with the harmful intent of Syria, Yemen, and other entities along with the devious nefarious machinations of Russia. There are numerous other complications. If anyone can get the job done Netanyahu is the one. Like him or not in this case he seems the best candidate to do what is needed. And he has the means.

We may now look back and see how many of the above-listed goals have already been dealt with.

Out of the challenges listed above that Netanyahu faced he has dealt with most of them quite well, OR in some cases the Hand of Divine Providence has done it for him!

Israel is in the process (God willing) of terminating Hamas which is already severely impaired.
Iran has been crippled quite well though more of the same would be welcome.
The West Bank has been kept under control and Israeli rulership over the area even stabilized to a great degree.
The Hizbullah has seen nearly all of its leadership wounded or dead and seems to be no longer actively involved in hostilities against Israel.
Turkey did not intervene though it still being noises now and against as if it would like to do so.
Syria under Assad no longer exists. Israel has forces in Syria itself who are forced to be there to protect the Druze community. This may well be tot he advantage of Israel.
Yemen under the Houthis has been severally punished but is still a menace. It may need to be invaded which could be a pity but we shall see.
The whole world is now turning against us due to incessant propaganda lamenting the alleged misfortunes of "starving" children and the like in Gaza.
Enormous suns of money from Arab entities such as Qatar is succeeding in turn part of the world against Israel.
This however has always been the case. Many Gentiles prefer dead Jews to live ones.
