Was Hitler in league with the Devil?
Was Fraulein Adolf possessed?
Did he believe he was?
The Austrian Parents of Adolf Hitler
We do not really know the answers. It does not actually matter. He behaved as if he was possessed or guided. A brief examination of the ambiance created around Hitler enables a deeper appreciation of who he and his followers were.

Volk and Thule Movements
Hitler in his youth was an avid reader with a precocious sense of involvement in contemporary affairs. Hitler absorbed much from the Germanic (and Austrian) Folk Movement. This was an eclectic movement that attempted to resurrect ancient pagan Germanic paganism along with esoteric interests and active often anti-Jewish political involvement. Many of the early Nazi leaders belonged to the Thule Society.
# The volkisch movement, as it evolved, sometimes combined the arcane and esoteric aspects of folkloric occultism alongside "racial adoration" and, in some circles, a type of anti-Semitism linked to exclusionary ethnic nationalism. ... Adolf Hitler wrote in Mein Kampf (My Struggle): "the basic ideas of the National-Socialist movement are populist (völkisch) and the populist (völkisch) ideas are National-Socialist." Nazi racial understanding was couched in völkisch terms... In January 1919, the Thule Society was instrumental in the foundation of the Deutsche Arbeiter-Partei (German Workers' Party, or DAP), which later became the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP), commonly called the Nazi Party. Thule members or visiting guests that would later join the Nazi Party included Rudolf Hess, Alfred Rosenberg, Hans Frank, Gottfried Feder, Dietrich Eckart and Karl Harrer. # Völkisch movement - Wikipedia

The Thule Society had been founded by Rudolf von Sebottendorf in 1911. Von Sebottendorf was a student of the Occult. Von Sebottendorf was also to claim that Hilter had originally been a Thule member but this has been denied. In 1933, Von Sebottendorf published "Before Hitler Came." He said: "Thulers were the ones to whom Hitler first came, and Thulers were the first to unite themselves with Hitler." Von Sebottendorf had previously been a Freemason. He was influenced by occult practices in Turkey where he had spent some time. VS converted to Islam and became a Sufi of the Bektashi order. After Von Sebottendorf published his work in 1933, Hitler had it banned and its author arrested. Von Sebottendorf however escaped and returned to Turkey where he committed suicide in 1945.
It is worth noting that as his reign progressed Hitler both referred to occult sources as well as intermittently trying to suppress them.

Hitler and His Followers. Streicher
Source: Julius Streicher | German politician
To what degree Satanism and Nazism were inter-twined may be debated. Nevertheless their patterns of behavior were similar. It was evil for the sake of it. An example of this involved the personality of Julius Streicher. Most of his fellow Nazis despised Streicher. He was a known pedophile and sexual predator. The police very much wanted to question him. Others would have liked to see him dead. Hitler however protected JS. Streicher was one of the veteran friends Hitler had. Hitler said that the Jew-hating newspaper published by Streicher was the only one he read from one end to the other. In 1937, Julius Streicher had published a fabricated "photo" of a ritual murder "depicting" three Jews murdering a young girl by cutting her throat. Numerous claims of ritual murderers in history would be refurbished and presented by Streicher as true. There were at that time in Europe worshipers of the devil who did claim to practice such things. Most of them appear to have been Nazi supporters. Both Streicher and Hitler had been very close to occult circles. Both openly associated with and befriended known sexual perverts and were such themselves.

The Observations of the Psychologist Carl Jung. Wotan.
Source: Carl Jung - Wikipedia
“The Wild Hunt” by Franz Stuck was painted in 1889. The painting is an image of Odin who was also known as the "Wild Hunter." It was quite a famous work in its time. Hitler and others believed it had prophetic significance since the image of Odin as depicted is similar to that of Hitler. The painting was said to foreshadow the rise of Hitler and the Nazis. Source: "The Wild Hunt": an eerie painting of 1889 that some say predicts the rise of Hitler & Nazi Germany
The Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who founded analytical psychology, Carl Jung, described the arrival of Nazism and Hitler in some detail. He lived through it. At first he seems to have even had a half-welcoming attitude towards it. Jung said that the ancient deity "Odin (Wotan)" related to German origins in a Primeval Era. Odin had been half forgotten, changed by Christianity into the devil and become a ghostly hunter seen in visions of a stormy night. Now he was coming back. His return was to be accompanied by a rejection of Christianity. This went together with the abnegation of the Jews who in some way were considered guilty of whatever failings Christianity had led the Germans to fall into. Both Hitler and Odin, Epitomized the German Psyche. The image of Odin was conflated with the Christian conception of Satan. It was felt by some German "Folk" theorists, as well as by Jung, that Satan and Odin were one and the same and that both represented the pagan god the Germans had worshiped before they became Christian. From that point of view a return to the ancient truths would have meant a renewed worship of Satan.
In 1937 Jung said of Hitler: “He is a medium, German policy is not made; it is revealed through Hitler. He is the mouthpiece of the gods of old…”
Jung also opined: “All the Nazi leaders were possessed in the truest sense of the word.”

Himmler
Source: Hitler’s Henchmen: Hess, Himmler, Goring, Speer
Henirich Himmler was also heavily involved in Occult matters. Himmler encouraged research regarding “Lucifer’s role as the harbinger of enlightenment and enemy of the Jewish God.” Himmler claimed that the witches of early German History had been of pure German blood and adherents of original Germanic Religion. Under Himmler members of the SS engaged in numerous ceremonies of an occult nature. These have been described as "Satanic." Even if technically such was not the case the whole mind-set behind such activities shares much with Satanism. Addressing the satanic, mystical aspect of Nazism

The Devil Himself
Hitler for his part saw the purpose of his existence to be primarily the destruction of the Jewish People. He was prepared to invoke the aid of the Devil to do this. Hitler had declared:
# ... we are animated by an inexorable resolve to seize the Evil [the Jews] by the roots and to exterminate it root and branch. To attain our aim we should stop at nothing, even if we must join forces with the Devil… # Eberhad Jackel, ed., “Hitler. Samtliche Aufzeichnungen 1905-1924”, Stuttgard, 1980, quoted in GOLDHAGEN, Daniel John. “Hitler’s Willing Executioners. Ordinary Germans and the Holocaust,” USA, 1996, p. 134, note 7.
Whether Hitler was possessed or not, he behaved like it and at times seems to have believed it or acted as if he did. Even from the earliest records we have of him Hitler showed signs of being possessed or believing he was.

The Young Hitler I Knew (3) Hitler's Demonic Possession by August Kubizek
Chapter 10 -- In That Hour It Began
I was struck by something strange, which I had never noticed before, even when he had talked to me in moments of the greatest excitement. It was as if another being spoke out of his body, and moved him as much as it did me. It wasn't at all a case of a speaker being carried away by his own words. On the contrary; I rather felt as though he himself listened with astonishment and emotion to what burst forth from him with elementary force.
Hitler once confided to a sometime companion:
Unless I have the incorruptible conviction: This is the solution, I do nothing. Not even if the whole party tried to drive me to action. I will not act; I will wait, no matter what happens. But if the voice speaks, then I know the time has come to act. Hermann Rauschning, “The Voice of Destruction,” p. 181.27 Hitler the Antichrist
Probably some time in the 1930s Hitler had received a copy of a work, "Magic: History, Theory, Practice," 1923, by Ernst Schertel. This has been found. Passages within it had been heavily underlined by Hitler himself. These included the following,
‘Satan is the fertilising, destroying-constructing warrior’ and ‘He who does not carry demonic seeds within him will never give birth to a new world’? Hitler's Obsession with the Occult - by Eric Kurlander, Ernst Schertel - Wikipedia

Faust, Goethe, and Hitler
Source: Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Another facet of Hitler and Demon Possession involves the figure of Faust as presented in the writings of Goethe.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832) was known as the “National Poet” of the German people. His best-known work was the play "Faust" which was based on an historical personage. In this play Faust makes a pact with Mephistopheles, i.e. the Devil. In exchange for knowledge and understanding along with physical pleasures Faust sells his soul. This work became a Classic of the German language. Jew-hating Germans later explained Mephistopheles as representative of the Jews.
"Goethe personified in Faust the struggling German soul and in Mephistopheles the tempting Jew.” See: Austausch, Vol. 1, No. 1, April 2011 40 The Dark Shadow of Faust: The Anti-Semitic Tradition of Reading Mephistopheles as the “Jewish Spirit” Jonas Karlsson Kenyon College, Gambier, Ohio (karlssonj@kenyon.edu)
Concerning the image of Faust in later times. Thomas Mann wrote a novel "Doktor Faustus " (1947) in which Mephistopheles represented the Nazi-type elements that had overtaken Germany. Ruth Schechter of the University of Beer Sheva claimed that in Hitler's mind he was in place of Faust and the Jews were the human sacrifice offered up to ensure the success of Nazi endeavors.
Winston Churchill, "The Gathering Storm" (1948), described the coming to power of Hitler in 1933:
“He had called from the depths of defeat the dark and savage furies latent in the most numerous, most serviceable, ruthless, contradictory and ill-starred race in Europe. He had conjured up the fearful idol of an all-devouring Moloch of which he was the priest and incarnation."
Catholic Opinion
The Catholics also came to see Hitler as an agent of Satan:
David G. Dalin, author of The Myth of Hitler’s Pope, records that Pius XII regarded the Nazis as “diabolical.” Seduced by ‘the devil’ Hitler | Catholic Herald
Hans Frank, the “butcher of Poland”, where all six of the Nazi specialized death camps were situated. ... falling under Hitler’s spell in 1919. In his memoirs, written in prison, he blamed Hitler for his own misdeeds, writing: “Hitler was the devil. He seduced us all that way.” Seduced by ‘the devil’ Hitler | Catholic Herald
Some of the people around Hitler including his adherents believed he was possessed.
Jewish Hasidic Belief
Among Religious Jews the belief existed that Hitler was a descendant of Amalek who was the grandson of Esau also known as “Koz” which too was another name in German tradition for Woten. There was also a Hasidic opinion that Hitler was really a “Shaed,” i.e. a demon, pretending to be human.
Hitler and Belief in “God”
Hitler in his speeches and utterances often refers to the "Almighty." For Hitler this projection of God did not mean the Deity of the Bible but rather something else, a representative of the German soul rather than that of the Hebrews
Hitler said:
But the German is different. He wants to be sincere. He is either a Christian or a heathen.... But for our people it is important to choose between the Jewish belief in Christ with its wishy-washy whining about pity, and a strong heroic belief in a God in nature, a God in their own people, a God In their own fate, in their own blood ...

Hitler and Satanism
The British Occultist Aleister Crowley (1875-1947) held that Hitler had been influenced by his teachings and even used a similar terminology. Crowley is often described as a Satanist but he denied it though using Satanist symbolism.

Today, contemporary Satanism is converging with neo- Nazism. There are small groups of Neo-Nazis in Norway, Britain, New Zealand and France who also practice Satanism i.e. Devil-worship and Evil for its own sake or for the purpose of achieving power and control. Germany at present is considered one of the centers of witchcraft and devil-worship. Belief in Witchcraft was always strong in Germany.
"More than a hundred times as many witches were executed in Germany as were in England. "
Today, Satanism is growing in Germany:
In 2008, Hahn sent around a survey to 2,000 doctors and therapists in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, of which Muenster is a part. Some 120 responded saying they had female patients who had suffered violence in Satanic groups. Source: Difficult to escape, abusive Satanic cults exist in the shadows of society | DW | 13.08.2010
The Greek and Roman Models, New Testament Symbolism
Heinrich Himmler, head of the SS, was the one promoting Germanic paganism. Hitler preferred the ancient Greek and Roman models and wanted the Germans to emulate them.
Source: Pergamon - Wikipedia
In northwest Turkey there was once the city of Pegamum. In the Christian New Testament Pergamum is referred to the "place where Satan dwells" and "where Satan’s throne is" (Revelation 2:12-13). The importance of this reference is not its veracity or lack of it but the fact that such was a known belief in the time we are speaking of. In German Christian thought Pergamum was associated with the devil! There had been an altar to Zeus at Pergamum apparently dating from Roman times in the 100s CE . This altar was taken apart and re-assembled in Berlin in 1930. Albert Speer, the chief architect of Hitler was inspired by this Altar. See: The Seat of Satan: Nazi Germany, The place where Satan lives? Pt 1. Working on behalf of Hitler Speer attempted to evoke the glory of Rome in German building and Nazi pageants. This in itself does not prove anything but it is a repeated pattern. Where Satanism existed so too would a Nazi interest be involved and vice versa.

The Alternative. A Return to Believe in the Bible
Naziism and Satanism are merely extreme versions of a malaise afflicting many in Western Nations today. This is liable to bring disaster on us all. We need to repent and return to Biblical values.
Jeremiah (NASB) 26:
2 Thus says the LORD, Stand in the court of the LORD’S house, and speak to all the cities of Judah who have come to worship in the LORD’S house all the words that I have commanded you to speak to them. Do not omit a word! 3 Perhaps they will listen and everyone will turn from his evil way, that I may repent of the calamity which I am planning to do to them because of the evil of their deeds. 4 And you will say to them, Thus says the LORD, ‘If you will not listen to Me, to walk in My law which I have set before you, 5 to listen to the words of My servants the prophets, whom I have been sending to you again and again, but you have not listened; 6 then I will make this house like Shiloh, and this city I will make a curse to all the nations of the earth.’Isaiah (NASB) 5:
20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;
Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes
And clever in their own sight!
We need to believe and do the best we can with what we have.
Job (NASB) 40:
1 Then the LORD said to Job,
2 Will the faultfinder contend with the Almighty?
Let him who reproves God answer it.
We should not despair:
Isaiah (NASB) 49:
25 Surely, thus says the LORD,
Even the captives of the mighty man will be taken away,
And the prey of the tyrant will be rescued;
For I will contend with the one who contends with you,
And I will save your sons.26 I will feed your oppressors with their own flesh,
And they will become drunk with their own blood as with sweet wine;
And all flesh will know that I, the LORD, am your Savior
And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
