"How Israel Won the West examines how Israel has come to occupy such a privileged and protected place in the Western world.
It traces the journey of the Jewish people from biblical stories of origin through centuries of persecution and the advent of Zionism, all the way to the creation of Israel and its ensuing occupation of the Palestinian territory.
Along the way, what is revealed is a process of transformation, of how Jews went from being despised by early Christians as "Christ killers" – seeding a vile anti-Judaism that would mutate into anti-Semitism – to being considered part of the white Western world, sharing a common Judeo-Christian heritage. The film lays bare the alignment of Zionism with "Western civilisation", deliberately putting it in opposition to the people of the east – Arabs, Muslims.
Anti-Jewish sentiment existed in the Christian world from the beginning. Nevertheless, there was always an undercurrent in the west that was basically pro-Jewish even though in practice they discriminated against Jews.
(a) Catholics.
Irish Catholicism later took on some anti-semitic aspects but on the whole, if it related to Jews at all, it considered them long lost cousins or brothers with whom their ancestors had been associated. This does not mean they wanted them as neighbors. They did not want anybody especially non-Catholics. The same applies to some degree also to France though here there were Jews and there was anti-Semitism. This was exemplified in France through the Dreyfus Affair (1894-1906). A French officer of Jewish origin was unjustly accused of treason. Even the anti-Semites in Britain found in the treatment of Dreyfus evidence of French cultural inferiority.
(b) Protestants.
Protestants in the west, in England and the Netherlands tended to be tolerant and often pro-Jewish to some degree.
There were also those among them (including Oliver Cromwell, 1599-1658) who envisaged a revived independent Jewish Kingdom in the Holy Land as being desirable and consistent with the Bible. This pro-Jewish element may have been a minority but it existed and had adherents among the idealistic middle and upper classes.
Benjamin Disraeli (1804-1881) had been born Jewish but converted to Christianity as a child along with his parents. Nevertheless he openly espoused a proto-Zionist ideology. This enhanced his popularity rather than harm it. Eventually he twice served as British PM and was a close friend and advisor to Queen Victoria. Disraeli was the one who made the idea of a British Empire popular among all classes of the British People.
Support for Zionism became the thing for patriotic British to believe in.

Ashkenazi Jews were more educated in the western sense and had been the majority in the country since the beginning.

Rabbi Shlomoh Goren was asked to help prepare a progrom to carry this out. It appears however that the other side was not interested. Rabbi Goren was then the Chief Rabbi of the IDF and later he became Chief Rabbi of Israel. A right-wing group in Israel has since attempted to revive interest in such matters. Brit-Am is very reserved about it but tries not to get invovled one way or the other.

Ze'ev Jabotinsky (1880-1940) was a dynamic and important figure. He was always in political opposition. He imaged a state with a Jewish majority but with Jewish, Muslim, and Christian citizens sharing equal rights.
Relatively speaking he was right-wing but (by European standards) not extremely so:
“There [in the forthcoming Jewish state] shall live in well-being and happiness, the son of Arabia, the son of Nazareth and my son.”
The majority of Israelis in the early days treated Jabotinsky and his followers as anathema.
It was only with the rise to power of Menachem Begin and the Likud Party in 1977 that the image of Jabotinsky was rehabilitated. Until then his ideas and principles had little influence. Western support for Israel was not deliberately fostered out of nowhere by anyone. It was more a result of the empirical reality and the Western supporters reaching out to help Israel of their own volition.
Israel is not committing any genocide. The population of Gaza has actually increased since the Gaza War (October 7th, 2023) began!

It is also worth noting that the aims of Hamas enxtend to everywhere in the owrld. Nolt just to the area of Israel. The aims of Hamas are shared by Turkey, and most Arab Sunni polities such as Quatar, Saudia, etc. Iran adheres to Shiite Islamd which is a bit different but just as fanatical and dangerous.
No-one denies the open declarations of Hamas and its actions.
