Why did the Anglo-Saxons lead the Industrial Revolution?
The term 'Anglo-Saxon' may be misleading. Welsh, Northern Irish, and especially Scottish engineers, entrepreneurs, etc, were quite important. There was a combination of factors that all came together at the right moment. Agricultural reforms led to many leaving the land for the cities. It also meant available capital for investment. A population explosion provided plentiful labor. An Empire meant resources and available markets. The psychological climate encouraged enterprise and optimism. One thing lead to another.
