If genetic researchers could identify an identifying gene from Davidic (King David) descendants - could Israel create a ceremonial Davidic Royal-House?

If such a result would be received from DNA searching then it could help a great deal. In Ireland they found identifying DNA for descendants of Nial. Most of the descendants of local Irish rulers had traditions that they were descended from Nial. DNA testing produced results confirming such a belief. They had a common YDNA signature! Nial is believed to have lived somewhere between 100 BCE to 100 CE. Some researchers place Nial (or whoever fathered those who appear to descend from him or his brothers) before or after these dates. Nevertheless, the results exist. Men with the YDNA signature of Nial comprise about 12% of the population of Ireland reaching to 20% in some places. They are also found in Lowland Scotland. The apparent lack of the signature elsewhere in Europe raises some questions. Is there an environmental effect?
At all events there are many families who believe they descend from King David. It was prophesied that the offspring of David would be extremely numerous.
Jeremiah (NASB) 33:
19 The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying, 20 'Thus says the LORD, “If you can break My covenant for the day and My covenant for the night, so that day and night will not be at their appointed time, 21 then My covenant may also be broken with David My servant so that he will not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levitical priests, My ministers. 22 As the host of heaven cannot be counted and the sand of the sea cannot be measured, so I will multiply the descendants of David My servant and the Levites who minister to Me.'
What was done for the putative descendants of Nial could also be done for those of David. I understand that attempts may have been made but without success. Nevertheless the methods could be refined. Only those with very high prospects could be examined and a common denominator searched for. It could be worth doing. What the practical applications of a Davidical YDNA signature might be are besides the point.
