Is it true that the Germans are considered to have been the best soldiers of World War II?
Germany in some respects had better and more thoroughly trained ground troops. Their armored Corps was better. So was their artillery.
On the other hand,
The British had superior Intelligence Agencies. They knew more about what the Germans were doing and also how to mislead the Germans as to their own intentions. The British also had a more successful scientific community. British scientists produced answers to problems that made a difference, e.g. Radar. The British were able to place their economy and social orientation on a war footing whereas the Germans did not. British war production overtook that of the Germans. They also had access to more raw resources apart from the almost inexhaustible supply provided by the USA. The Germans used horses whereas the British had trucks.
The British Navy and Merchant Marine were better. So was their Air force. British Commando raids were to have an important psychological effect. British Diplomacy (i.e. the activity of Churchill) succeeded in getting the USA involved on British behalf through Lend Lease. This was worth a lot. The war aim of Britain was their self-preservation and the survival of civilization. The war aim of Germany was to kill as many Jews as possible. Both were successful to some degree.
