I think it's rooted in their mentality, if it was just some crazy soldiers shooting people I could forgive, but the whole society was involved; The gas chambers were built by a private German companies, engineers, doctors, and companies were involved in organizing war crimes.I would like to forgive.

You can forgive or not forgive. Who really cares? Nevertheless, for they who believe in God and understand a little of history then forgiveness is not ours to dispense of.
We are not speaking of something that happened and went away.
I personally lost a few distant relatives whom I never knew, may never have known, and who may not have liked me nor been likable. Still it would have been nice finding out and if not so, then just having them in the same world would have been OK.
Relatives of my mother were killed in Germany by Germans. The sister of my father died at Japanese hands having been taken captive at Singapore in WW2.
The Japanese may be inscrutable orientals of whom perhaps little better should have been expected.
The Germans were however assumed to be like us. There were even those who looked up to them, before that time.
One third of the Jewish people went up the chimney. That is where looking up to such people can get you.
It was however a long time ago relatively speaking.
Even so, even if I had have lost nobody I would not have felt quiet, ever.
Others might have. No-one wants trouble. Offenders come looking for you. You do not need to look for them.

They made AH a kind of idol. The soldiers oath to AH meant more to them than common decency, basic morality, their own lives and the honor of their families.
They kept fighting and killing Jews in the east and the west just for the sake of it.
They did what they did with the backing of their own people and renegade elements in other nations.
The sentiments that caused them to go along that path still exist.

Why does the USA keep so much of its military in Germany?
To guard against Russia?

But now Russia is no longer such a threat as it once was.

So why does Germany not want to pay for the US soldiers to remain there?

It is an open secret that the US has to stay there because Germany cannot be trusted on its own.
That is also one of the motivational factors for the EU. To try and keep Germany on a leash.
Why do the other countries want Germany on a leash?
Now the Germans are fat, satisfied, complacent, and self-consuming. They have even taken to not having babies and therefore keeping their numbers down.

Historically in Nazi Germany one did not have to hate Jews to kill them.
