The idea that the Jews are not really Jews but the descendants of converts is a relatively recent innovation. It has been made popular by assimilationist Jews, Arab propagandists, and by Conspiracy Theorists. Hitler hated the Jews as Jews. His sources were mainly German ones. He held that the Old Testament was a Jewish book. Christianity was an invention of Jews and reflected a Jewish spirit. Jews were negative and always had been. He did not consider the Ancient Hebrews to have been positive and therefore he had no reason to deny the link between them and the Jews in Europe. The guiding light for Nazi thought was the attitude reflected in the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. This was an invention by the Prussian Secret Police as adopted by the Russians. It did not matter whether or not it was a forgery since they considered it to reflect an objective truth.
Nevertheless, the False Jews theory already existed among fringe elements in Britain and the USA. It may have influenced the entourage of Henry Ford and is recalled in some German writings. From the mainstream anti-Jewish German point of view however it was superfluous and even confusing so they did not relate to it.
