Does the Hebrew Bible or Jewish culture encourage women to marry intellectuals regardless of their material or social success?

The Jewish Religion places great emphasis on Learning Torah. A religious Jew who is learned and pious would be considered a good catch for a Jewish girl.
A family that had material means would consider it an honor and a potential social upgrade to marry their daughter to a learned Jew and generously help support them.
Something of this has carried over into the secular Jewish world.
If a girl with economic backing was to marry someone without money or status the marriage would be much more acceptable if the bridegroom at least had proven intellectual capabilities.
Of course money and sociability would also help.
