What's better according to Orthodox Judaism, being selectivity or partially observant but still transgressing the Torah, or being completely non-observant thus avoiding hypocrisy?

A person born into the Jewish People or otherwise becoming part of it has obligations. Just because one cannot, or will not, do everything one should does not mean they should not do anything. In the end you will be judged by everything you did and everything you did not. Each judgment will be considered as a separate matter as well as part of the whole package. We all have weaknesses. It happens that our negative impulses overcome us. Should we then say to ourselves that since we seem to be failures in one direction then why should we keep trying in another? This is a suicidal attitude that should not be countenanced. Do what you can as well as you can where you can and (God willing) you will be enabled to overcome in other areas as well.
