In the Jewish wedding ceremony the bride receives a ring. Women are expected to wear rings. It seems to be a sign of self-respect for married women to do so. On the other hand, men seldom wear rings. For a Jewish man to wear a wedding ring it would be considered an unwarranted imitation of non-Jewish practice. That is the general picture. There may be exceptions. For example:
I heard of an Orthodox Jewish professional who wore a wedding ring. The reason he gave was that in his place of work there were many women. Some of these females had liberal attitudes. There was however a general consensus among the ladies not to start up with married men. Not being desirous of complications he too took to wearing a wedding ring himself.
A recent picture of a Modern, yet Orthodox, Sephardic Rabbi shows him wearing what seems to be a wedding ring. There may be a rational explanation for this.
I once met a Jewish girl who had been brought up in a mainly non-Jewish environment. She was about to get married but was severely scandalized at the thought that her future husband would not have a ring on his hand.
I do not know about the Arabs. I do know however that performing certain tasks in the IDF and in the work place it is often required to take the rings off.
