In one sense Israel has no friends in so far as any one of them is liable to go against us.
"THE PEOPLE SHALL DWELL ALONE, AND SHALL NOT BE RECKONED AMONG THE NATIONS" (Numbers 23:9).
Nevertheless, overall the USA is an ally of Israel, helps Israel, supports Israel diplomatically, and in general may be relied upon to do so.
The population of the USA is also friendly to Israel while Americans are much admired in Israel.
Canada and Australia come next.
These nations usually agree with Israel in their attitudes to fighting terror and on other matters.
The UK comes next. Many will be surprised at this.
After the UK comes France which will make some even more surprised than when we mentioned the UK.
Let us be clear,
Both the UK and France are liable to come out against Israel and to initiate measures against her.
Not only that but many inhabitants of both the UK and France are anti-Jewish.
Nevertheless, this is a question of quality versus quantity:
The quality of their pro-Israel modes (when they have them) as well as their behind the scenes co-operation outweighs the quantity of their occasional anti-Israel posturing.
That brings us to five countries and answers the question.
A more detailed answer in a different format may be available later.
Other countries of note concerning Israel include the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, Belgium, and Denmark.
These are all now critical of Israel and liable to be against her.
In some cases they fund NGOs that are antagonistic to Judaism and Israel.
Nevertheless in the past these nations were not so nasty. At times they were friendly to Israel and helped her. Some of this good will may still remain on both sides.
Many in Israel consider Germany a friend but others do not. So too with Czechia and other Central and East European entities.
There there are smaller nations such as Togo, Micronesia, etc.
In some cases these nations may be friendly to Israel.
Their friendship however seems to rely on whoever is in charge at the moment, and could drastically change overnight.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has done much to improve the image of Israel overseas, has come to an understanding with numerous heads of state, and so on.
Even so, Israel is still the Jew Boy on the corner who gets blamed for everything and nothing and whose very existence is considered an irritation.
Isaiah 40 (ASV): 15 Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are accounted as the small dust of the balance…
Genesis 49:
8 'Judah, you are he whom your brothers shall acknowledge;
Your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies;
Your father's children shall bow down before you.
9 Judah is a lion's whelp [Hebrew: Gur Aryeh];
From the prey, my son, you have gone up.
He bows down, he lies down as a lion [Hebrew: Aryeh];
And as a lion [Hebrew: Lavi, full-grown old lion], who shall rouse him?
