The British Isles are Considered Israelite! (18 May 2017, 22 Iyar, 5777)

The Promised Borders of the Holy Land
The Hatam Softer referred to two deductions about the borders. One source concerned the original Ten Nations. This was discussed above.
The other source was a discussion about the promised borders of the Land of Israel.
In regard to the western border of the Promised Land Scripture says:
Numbers 34:
6 As for the western border, you shall have the Great Sea for a border; this shall be your western border.
Rabbi Yehudah (Talmud, Gittin 8a) says "the Great Sea for a border" means the "Yam HaOkeanus" which refers to the Atlantic Ocean.
There are differences of opinion as to what Rabbi Yehudah intended.
See:
#3. Question: What Are the Boundaries of the Promised Land According to the Bible?

and above Map.
The Commentary of Tosefot (Gittin 8a, beginning, "Said Rabbi Yehudah") says that Rabbi Yehudah wished to include "all the isles in the sea" up to the Atlantic Ocean.
This is usually understood as meaning all the islands (but not the land masses) in the Mediterranean area up to the Atlantic.
The Hatam Sofer says that it means all the islands in the [northern part, as implied, of the] Atlantic Ocean up to its very end. This might also imply the inclusion of North America.
The Hatam Sofer is also quoted as saying explicitly that it includes England and neighboring isles i.e. the British Isles.

#4. Will the Land of Israel Encompass North America?

The Hatam Sofer links the two aspects i.e. (1) Lands of the Ten Canaanite Nations in the future going to Israel together with (2) the Promised Borders.
This shows that the Hatam Sofer was speaking concerning the future.
It might be objected that we have not really got much!
We have an imperfectly source applying to another opinion of which there are different opinions which in turn is a commentary on something else.
Nevertheless, the opinion of the Hatam Sofer is of value IN ITS OWN RIGHT!
The British Isles will therefore belong to the Israelites in the future.
Since a good portion of the ten Tribes are now among the British then the future is now!!!
The difference is that in the future the Israelites will know who they are. They shall acknowledge that they are Israelites.
They shall their obligations as Israelites. Their own land will be given to them as their land and as part of the expanded Land of Israel!
