Rabbi, I have a question. I was speaking to a Jewish friend of mine and he said that he believed all the 10 tribes were now incorporated within the people known today collectively as 'The Jews' I have read this morning Netzach Yisrael 34.4 within the Talmud and in it it seems to me to say part of the 10 tribes is incorporated within the Jewish people, but the others became infertile and died out. So that would tend to suggest that the return of all the Exiles is going to happen when the Jewish people themselves return because they are already united with them. But all those lost amongst the Gentiles - well are lost permanently. Can you give me some passage in the Talmud which suggests otherwise than this? Or anybody else, if they know where I should look in the Talmud? It seems to me at the moment that most of the Jewish people are very resistant to the idea of anybody outside of the Jewish people being part of an identification within an Israelite whole. And, whilst I think from a Christian Zionist perspective there is definitely something going on which seems to have a possible trajectory of Christian Zionists ending up mostly in Israel too because of persecution, I would like to see more actual evidence that this was at least considered a possibility by mainstream Jewish thought in the past. Otherwise it just looks like another form of replacement theology and trying to take away from the Jewish people what is rightfully theirs. We are living in very confusing and troubled times right now, especially for the Jewish people, and I am anxious not to add to their distress. Even though there is an implication given by the Apostle Paul that he at least seemed to see Gentiles becoming Christians as partially a fulfillment of some of the prophecies of Hosea.

2. Brit-Am Reply:
We are not Christians nor do we believe in Christianity.
Nevertheless it may be that Most Christian Zionists are descended from Jews or from members of the Lost Ten Tribes.
Some of the Lost Ten Tribes (LTTs) were indeed incorporated into the Jews of "Judah." Most however were not.
The writer links the Chrisitan Zionists to possible Israelite Ancestry. This is correct. Alongside the Theological Explanations there is also a element of ancestral Instinct. Support for the Jews and for the State of Israel is a proof of Israelites Ancestry.

3. Article by Leading Rabbi, Maharal of Prague (Rabbi Judah Loew ben Bezalel c. 1524 - 1609) concerning the LTTs and their Return.
"Netzach Yisrael" ("The Eternity of Israel") was written by the Maharal of Prague (Rabbi Judah Loew ben Bezalel c. 1524 - 1609). This book consists of article discussing discussions in the Talmud..
One of these concerns the Lost Ten Tribes.
The Maharal quotes different passages from the Talmud concerning the LTTs (there are not that many of them).
An opinion says concerning the LTTs says they "became infertile and died out."
This appears to be dealing with a small remnant of the LTTs who remained in the Middle East whereas all the rest of the LTTs moved out to the north (Jeremiah 3:18 31: 6-10)
and west (Isaiah 24:14, Hosea 1:10). Before he quotes from this source and AFTER he does so the Maharal returns and emphasizes that the LTTs will return and will once against be considered as part of the Tribes of Israel.
Even so, Josephus Flavius (c.37 CE - c.100 CE) wrote, "The Ten Tribes are beyond the Euphrates until this day, and are an immense multitude whose numbers cannot be estimated" (Antiquities 11:33).
The Maharal wrote in the later 1500s -early 1600s,.
That was before the USA existed and prior to Britain obtaining most of its Empire.
Later, first Britain then the USA obtained the Gate of their Enemies (Genesis 22:17 24:60) which is one proof identifying the LTTs.
They also became Great Nations helping to humanize humanity.
And they were instrumental each in its own way in establishing and maintaining (in its early stages at least) the State of Israel.
Who was the Maharal?
MAHARAL. From RABBIS QUOTED. MAHARAL.

Rabbi Judah Loew ben Bezalel (between 1512 and 1526 -1609) also known as Rabbi Loew (alt. Low, Loewe, Lowe or Levai), the Maharal of Prague - an important Talmudic scholar, Jewish mystic, mathematician, astronomer, and philosopher who, for most of his life, served as a leading rabbi in the cities of Mikulov in Moravia and Prague in Bohemia. He had an audience with Emperor Rudolf-2 (1576-1612). He was also in contact with Queen Elizabeth-1 of England through her astronomer, sceintific advisor, and religious counsellor, John Dee advocated the foundation of English colonies in the "New World" to form a "British Empire",
Rabbi Loew was reputedly strongly considered a descendant of King David. He is credited with creating the "GOLEM" i.e. a lving body without a soul BUT this legend apparenly only arose long after his death.

Paragraph by Paragraph:
(1. In the time of the Messiah Israel will be one with one King over all of them. Before than it is not suitable that the world should be entirely united.
Jacob had two mainwives Rachel and Leah.
Rachel was the wife he loved most but Leah played the leading role.
Rachel pleads for her sons (Jeremiah 31:14) and for her sake the LTTs wll be returned.
The major impediment is the idolatry the LTTs will have been guilty of.
He quotes from Jeremiah ch.31: This concentrates on the return of Ephraim even though Ephraim will have been steeped in idolatry.
Jeremiah (TCB) 31:
14 SO SAYS THE LORD: A VOICE IS HEARD ON HIGH, LAMENTATION, BITTER WEEPING, RACHEL WEEPING FOR HER CHILDREN, SHE REFUSES TO BE COMFORTED FOR HER CHILDREN FOR THEY ARE NOT.
15 SO SAYS THE LORD: REFRAIN YOUR VOICE FROM WEEPING AND YOUR EYES FROM TEARS, FOR THERE IS REWARD FOR YOUR WORK, SAYS THE LORD, AND THEY SHALL COME BACK FROM THE LAND OF THE ENEMY.
(2. Ephraim (the son of Rachel) will have been lost in idolatry since the world is divided.
Ephraim will have gone into the the world and become part of it so he too will become idolatrous.
There was a reason for this. The point of the Division was so that part (i.e. Judah) of the offspring of Israel might continue to believe in One God.
(3. There a division of opinion among the Sages (Talmud, Sanherdrin 110b).
Rabbi Akiva claimed the LTTs are not destined to return (One commentator says he was referring to the LTTs in his time not to those of the future).
Deuteronomy (TCB) 29:
27 AND THE LORD UPROOTED THEM FROM UPON THEIR LAND, WITH FURY, ANGER AND GREAT WRATH,
AND HE CAST THEM TO ANOTHER LAND, AS IT IS THIS DAY.
ANOTHER LAND - in Hebrew "Erets Aheret"
can also mean "New World."
At all events Rabbi Elazar says they will return and this opinion was accepted as the legal Law.
It is impossible that any of the 12 Tribes should disappear. Many of them have already returned and are now among the Jews Talmud, Megillah 14b). It follows that even the opinion saying they would not return intended only a part of them.
(4. Discusses whether the LTTs will return or will not. Says that even the opinion that says they will not return was referring only to that section of them who were exiled to Another Land (Deuteronomy 29:27).
[We have shown elsewhere that places such as "Afriki" referred to the British Isles and "Another Land" meant the New World meaning America.]
