1. Introduction
Over the years we have taken note of numerous DNA articles that may help confirm the belief that the Lost Ten Tribes went to the west.
The facts and studies noticed do not absolutely prove the case but they greatly increase its perceived probability.
Most of the relevant information was posted to our site in issues of BAMAD (Brit-Am Anthropology and DNA Update).
http://www.britam.org/DNA/BAMADContents.html
http://hebrewnations.com/features/bamad.html
BAMAD includes information proving the Lost Ten Tribes are in the west alongside updates concerning other peoples, DNA findings in general, as well ethnic and anthropological observations.
To make easier the appreciation of DNA findings concerning Israelite origins we have prepared a separate list collating the relevant findings.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
2. Reservations
(a) It may be that in addition to Israelites numerous other peoples of similar origin (Assyrians, Babylonians, Israelites, Ammonites, Moabites, Edomites, etc) also moved westward.
(b) DNA findings are used to classify races through YDNA which is transmitted by males, and by mtDNA which passes down the female line.
It has been proven that environment may also be an influence on DNA though what effect it has on racial DNA, etc, is not certain at present.
It may be that YDNA and mtDNA will in the future be proven to be entirely an outcome of environment at crucial historical junctions.
In such a case most of the articles listed below would have limited value from the point of view of determining ancestry.
The relevant proof of environmental influence may already exist as noted in some of the articles.
At present however the mainstream is assuming that it is entirely a matter of heredity.
If such is indeed the case the articles below prove that Western Peoples originated in the general area of Ancient Israel.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
3. How do we use the findings?
To make a source relevant to us we may have to compare on entry to another and derive our own conclusion.
For instance, one announcement might say (as has been said) that the ancestors of YDNA R1b all came from the Middle East several thousand years ago.
Another separate study will suddenly claim that about 3000 years ago there was very little if any R1b YDNA in Western Europe.
Putting the two together we get a DNA-wise feasible possibility that the ancestors of R1b came from the area of Ancient Israel to Western Europe within the last 3000 years. This is consistent with them having been part of the Lost Ten Tribes. This is scientific.
