The Bull-Calf Symbol of Ephraim (6 December 2016, 6 Kislev, 5777)
Genesis 49:
6... Because in their anger they slew a man,
And in their self-will they lamed a bull.
Midrash HaGadol: "A Bull - this means Joseph" as it says [concerning Joseph], Deuteronomy 33:17 "As the firstborn of his bull, majesty is his."
The banner of Joseph was black. It depicted a RAEM or unicorn for Manasseh and a bull for Ephraim (Midrash BaMidbar Rabah 2;7) .
Jeremiah (31:18) called EPHRAIM an "Aegel" meaning "Young-Bull", in Hebrew. "Aegel" was also pronounceable as "Angle."
"Angle" was the name of a people who invaded England and gave England its name, hence we have the term "Anglo-Saxon." The name "Angle" was also rendered as "Aegle" just like the Hebrew.
