"Kaf HaChaim" - A Rabbinical Descendant of Benjamin
The Tribe of Benjamin had offshoots among the Ten Tribes but the main body of the Tribe stayed with Judah.
Within Judah indications are that Benjamin was more to be found among theĀ Ashkenazim of Germany and among the Sephardim.
Benjamin is not scholarly but here and there great scholars emerged from his ranks.
These included Yaakov Chaim SoferĀ (1870-1939) author of an Halachic Compendium of Laws for Daily Conduct known as "Kaf HaChaim" literally the "The [hand] Palm of Life."
This work is both legalistic and mystical.
Benjamin may not concentrate on intellectual matters but he can do so if he wishes. He also had a spiritual side and may be interested in Esoteric Studies.
The author of Kaf Hachaim had a traduition that he was descended from Benjamin.
