1. Timothy Murray: The Sabbath was for all Israel.
Subject: Re: Brit-Am Now no. 2192. Ten Tribes Studies.
Yair, regarding whether the 10 tribes should keep the Sabbath, I think the answer is plain: they certainly should. The Sabbath was for all Israel. More, originally the Sabbath was for all mankind, having been instituted at Eden in the beginning--long before even Abraham, let alone Israel. So, for all us "Joes," let's have at it! Personally my family and I have been observing 7th day Sabbaths all our lives.

2. Addenda. We are not against Hebrew Roots Practice!

Addition to article:
Israel and the Sabbath
http://hebrewnations.com/articles/jew/sabbath.html
By Hebrew Roots we remain the practice of Christian non-Jews adopting Biblical practices such as worship on the Sabbath etc.
We think this is positive. We merely wish to distinguish between declaring certain practices in our time as Legal Religious Obligations for non-Jews or simply something that may be recommended as efficacious. We understand that they are not obligatory for non-Jews even if they are of Lost Ten Tribe descent. Biblical -type Practices may well however be needed at present to enhance Biblical Understanding and to draw close to Biblical Concepts. These are decisions that we are not to be involved in. The Bible does say that the Ten Tribes will return and will once again keep the Torah. It therefore stands to reason that the more familiarity that is acquired with Biblical Requirements, the better.

Excerpts from Hebrew Nations Facebook Discussion on the YouTube Clip
Should the Ten Tribes Keep the Sabbath?
Excerpt:
On 1 January, 2014, 29 Tevet, 5774 we sent out notice to the Hebrew Nations Facebook
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hebrew-Nations/114512172040677
of a new YouTube Clip we had produced:
Should the Ten Tribes Keep the Sabbath?

In the following ca. 18 hours a discussion took place on the Facebook page. Below are excerpts from this discussion which incidentally is still going on.

4. Make an Offering in Exchange for an Answer
In light of the situation and for other reasons , for the time being:
We will endeavor to spread knowledge and answer questions concerning where the Lost Ten Tribes now are, Tribal identities, etc.
We will do this free of charge though we need funds and urge others to help fund our activities.
We believe that they who do will be blessed.
Other questions especially those of a religious polemical nature or of Biblical questions in general will be answered and dealt with if they are accompanied by an offering.
Those who wish are welcome to sponsor answers to questions posed by others.
There are Biblical precedents for this attitude of ours, cf.
1-Samuel 9:
5 When they came to the land of Zuph, Saul said to the boy who was with him, 'Let us turn back, or my father will stop worrying about the donkeys and worry about us.' 6 But he said to him, 'There is a man of God in this town; he is a man held in honour. Whatever he says always comes true. Let us go there now; perhaps he will tell us about the journey on which we have set out.' 7Then Saul replied to the boy, 'But if we go, what can we bring the man? For the bread in our sacks is gone, and there is no present to bring to the man of God. What have we?' 8 The boy answered Saul again, 'Here, I have with me a quarter-shekel of silver; I will give it to the man of God, to tell us our way.' 9 (Formerly in Israel, anyone who went to inquire of God would say, 'Come, let us go to the seer'; for the one who is now called a prophet was formerly called a seer.) 10 Saul said to the boy, 'Good; come, let us go.' So they went to the town where the man of God was.

5. Mark Williams: Query on France and Reuben in the Territory of Syria
Shalom Yair.
I'm reading this http://britam.org/obadiah.html
And I'm wondering if it's not just an indication of where some of the
lost tribes would be, but also of something they'd do at the end of
days. After all, it was France that had the Mandate authority in that
area between the World Wars.

Brit-Am Replies:
Reuben i.e. France taking control of Syria having been of significance from the Tribal perspective has been noted by us several times.
We have written articles about it but not yet posted them to the web.

6. Welcome to Shevet, Month of the Tribe of Asher.
This is the First Day of the Hebrew Month of Shevet in the year 5773
The name Shevet may also be spelt as Shebet.
====
The name Shevet in Hebrew can mean branch, staff, or tribe.
According to the list given in the book, "Shivtei Yisroel" by Fishel Mael, the Month of Shevet is that of the Tribe of Asher.
This is according to the GRA (Eliyahu of Vilna) and the Ari whose opinions are considered the most authoritative.
Others say it is the month of Benjamin (Midrash Peliah).
As stated below this month is said to possess qualities of renewal and rejuvenation.

Some Sources Concerning the Month of Shevat:
For a useful and friendly illustration comparing in circular fashion the Hebrew Calendar to the Secular one go the URL below and scroll down.
http://www.hebrew4christians.com/Holidays/Rosh_Chodesh/Shevat/shevat.html
http://www.templeinstitute.org/shevat-renewal.htm
THE THEME OF RENEWAL permeates each moment of this entire month. As it is within nature, so too this special time alludes to the potential for restoration within each person, for the Torah uses the metaphor "Is the tree of the field a man?" (Deut. 20:19). Just as renewal is within the grasp of the natural world, so too it is within our grasp as well; as the trees around us receive this new spark of Divine energy, people can be affected by it as well.
Shevat in Jewish history
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shevat
1 Shevat - Moses repeats the Torah
On the first of Shevat of the Hebrew year 2488, according to the Book of Deuteronomy, Moses convened the Jewish people and began the 37-day "review of the Torah", which he concluded on the day of his death on Adar 7 of that year.
24 Shevat - (517 BCE) - Zechariah's prophecy
According to Zechariah 1:7-16, "On the 24th day of the 11th month, which is the month of Shevat, in the second year of the reign of Darius, the word of God came to Zachariah the son of Berechiah the son of Ido the prophet, saying: '...I will return to Jerusalem in mercy, my house will be built within her" This was two years before the completion of the Second Temple on the 3rd of Adar, 515 BCE.
28 Shevat - (second century BCE) - Hasmonean holiday
On Shevat 28 (134 BCE?), Antiochus V abandoned his siege of Jerusalem and his plans for the city's destruction. This day was observed as a holiday in Hasmonean times. [1] (Megilat Taanit)

7. YouTube Clip.
J2. Rahab the Repentant Woman of Fortune
Duration: 14.07 minutes
Brit-Am Note: By an oversight we put out this clip even though we already had a clip on the subject which is listed further down. In our opinion both clips are worth viewing.
The Book of Joshua, ch2, Joshua sent two men to cross the Jordan and spy out the Land. They came to Jericho and entered the house of Rahab who was the owner of a lodging house as well as being a prostitute. Rahab hid the spies on the roof under flax branches. Rahab informed the spies that the fear of the God of Israel and of the Israelites was on all the inhabitants of Canaan which would be easy to conquer. Rahab then let the spies down over the wall by a rope.
