I think you have one great problem in Semitizing us the Pakhtuns. Before Islam came we followed Aryan religions, spoke an Aryan language were ethnicaly Aryan. Now we follow the compassionate religion Islam (a Semitic) religion but our language and ethincity remains Aryan. Some of us have Semitic (Arab-Jewish) names due to Islam and also our language has picked up Arabic words. Arabic and Hebrew are Semitic languages and very close. So the Pathans an Aryan Race can not be made Jews the Semites. Gul Khan Afridi .

3. Did the Tervingian Goths Become Thuringian Germans?
Subject: [Germanic-L] Review of Christensen's book on Jordanes' Getica
Extract:
Thus, Strabo's Voutones and Pliny's Guiones get emended to Tacitus' Gotones. More importantly, in the light of these emendations the identification of Tervingi= Visigoths and Greutungi = Ostrogoths seems to disappear completely.
Instead the sources use names like "Trutungi" "Austorgoti" and "Uirtingi" and individuals are being described as both Tervingus and Greutungus at the same time. The Tervingi appear not only as Trutungi and Uirtingi, but also as Teruingi and Teriungi as Wood/Christensen point out. I think this fact is vastly underappreciated by linguists that argue that the name Tueringi (i.e. Thuringi) can linguistically not be related to Teruingi or Teriungi. I'm no linguist but I think that Trutungi and Uirtingi can also not be linguisitically related to Tervingi.
These emendations convince me more than ever that the name Tueringi (Turingi, Tyringi, Thuringi) is related to and probably derived from a form of the Tervingian name. I think linguisitics raise no real obstacle. Instead the historical sequence with which these names appear and disappear and the material proximity plus other evidence cited in particular by Elke Grahn-Hoek does suggest that the later Thuringian kingdom is either created by or the impulse for its creation came from the Tervingian Goths. It would thus be the only Gothic kingdom outside the Roman empire after AD 400.
Cheers,
Dirk

4. Assyrians and Germany
Assyria. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The most long standing and popularised theory has been the attempts to link Assyrian ancestry to the ancient Germans. The idea has also some backing in German legend, for example the Gesta Treverorum (a 12th century German medieval chronicle) makes Trebeta son of Ninus the founder of Trier.[36] This legend of Trebeta as having founded Trier is also found in Godfrey of Viterbo's Pantheon (1185) and several other German chronicles of the 12th or 13th century, including the works of Sigebert of Gembloux.[37] The legend is also found cited in compendiums of historical sources from later periods, for example Gottfried Leibniz's Scriptures rerum Brunsvicensium (1710) and the Anthologia veterum latinorum epigrammatum et poematum (1835).[38]

5. Orjan Svensson: Swedish Word from Hebrew? kora=bachar?
Subject: kora from bachar?
Shalom,
It recently struck me that the Swedish word kora, also spelt "kora", and which means to "choose" could have come from Hebrew bachar meaning the same thing.
Swedish theologians often speak about "utkorelsen av Israel", meaning that Israel was chosen.
Regards,
Orjan

6. New Source of Interest on the Khazars.
http://drakenberg.weebly.com/khazars.html
Note the article or collection of articles in the URL below contains much material that is potentially valuable as well as much that seems to us to be INCORRECT.
It is to be read with care.
The extracts below (as with all material not authored by Yair Davidiy on this site) is to be regared as there for the sake of interest and possible further study. It does not necessarily reflect our own opinions.
The URL below has muchsome taken from Brit-Am writings but most is taken from elsewhere. You will find a references to our web-site and a summary of our work, "The Khazars. Tribe 13".
The URL also seems to have neo-pagan tendencies which should excoriated. We do not need any new idolatry.
In addition he seems to attribute undue importance to the Khazars and could even lend support to anti-Jewish conspiracy theories. He also identifies the British with Gog and Magog. Claims that the numerous scientific and other acheivements of the Hungarians in science, music, etc were due to the input of Jewish blood.
Despite all of there, and other, very serious reservations we found part of the information of potential value.
KHAZAR Khaganate
Extracts:
Praise of the Khazars.
The Khazar people were an unusual phenomenon for Medieval times. Surrounded by savage and nomadic tribes, they had all the advantages of the developed countries: structured government, vast and prosperous trading, and a permanent army. At the time, when great fanatism and deep ignorance contested their dominion over Western Europe, the Khazar state was famous for its justice and tolerance. People persecuted for their faiths flocked into Khazaria from everywhere. As a glistening star it shone brightly on the gloomy horizon of Europe, and faded away without leaving any traces of existence."
- Vasilii V. Grigoriev, in his essay "O dvoystvennosti verkhovnoy vlasti u khazarov" (1835), reprinted in his 1876 compilation book 'Rossiya i Aziya.'
Intermixture of Khazars with Russian Rulers.
There was a long period of harmony with Byzans resulting in a Khazar contribution to the royalty with at least two emperors and two empresses, of Khazar ethnical and/or cultural origin. There was also a forthgoing interaction with Rus resulting in mutual and joint trading posts along the river systems between the poles Kiev in Khazar-Rusia in the south and Birka in the northly Sweden (Svithjodh) and a Khazar contribution to the blood and culture of the first Khagans/Tsars of Russia, obviously since the queen of Rusia, the christian Khazar noble lady, Helga (Sancta) and, by her adopted son, the Khazar prince Svjatoslav (Svithjodho-Slav). There was also a great intermingling with the arab caliphates.
Intermixture of Khazars with Swedish People.
The Swedish Kings then granted the Jewish Khazars vast priviliges in economics, trading and residency. They took many Khazar nobels, some even Jewish, in their service as high ranking officers for battle and logistics. By the mid 18th century some of the christian nobel Khazar families lived in Sweden and by the end of the century several of the Jewish did as well. They were still main funders and suppliers, mainly to the Navy, they represented Turkey in maintaining the consulate and then they mostly contributed to the general economical and industrial development, and banking and finance in special, of the 19th century Sweden.
Intellectual Acheivements of Ashkenazic Jews
Psychometrics research has found that Ashkenazi Jews have the highest mean score of any ethnic group on standardized tests of general intelligence, at roughly one half to one standard deviation higher than the mean of the general white population.[5] These studies also indicate that this advantage is primarily in verbal and mathematical performance; spatial performance is about 90, if whites are taken as the mean. Estimates vary from 107 to 117. [6][7][8][9]
Ashkenazi Jews have made disproportionately large contributions to presumably intellectual pursuits. Though they are about a quarter of a percent of the world's population, they comprise 28 percent of Nobel Prize winners in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, and Economics, and have accounted for more than half of world chess champions.[10] In the United States, Ashkenazi Jews represent less than 2 percent of the population, but have won 40 percent of the Nobel Prizes in science awarded to U.S. citizens, and 25 percent of all Turing Awards. A significant decline in the number of Nobel Prizes awarded to Europeans and a corresponding increase in the number of prizes awarded to U.S. citizens occurred at the same time as Nazi persecutions of Jews drove them from Europe during the 1930s and the Holocaust reduced their number in Europe during the 1940s.
Whether these differences may be attributed entirely to environmental factors or partially to genetic factors is not quite settled, reflecting the larger academic debate on group differences in intelligence.
Finns of Finland Received Finnish Language from Saami (Lapps).
Additionally, the Finnish population is subject to an unusual collection of genetic diseases that are either very rare or entirely unknown elsewhere. This suggests a bottleneck founder event. The explanation then is that a very small group entered Finland about 2,000 years ago where the Saami population already lived. The Saami retreated to the north, but there was obviously sufficient contact for the Finns to learn the Saami language, while still not intermarrying to any great degree. The reason they would have adopted the Saami language would be because, in a hostile environment, they needed to learn the local dialect of the only people who knew how to survive and get around in Finland's maze of lakes, fjords, and forests.

#7. Phoenician type script and the Khazars.
Speaking of Hungarian writing, are you familiar with the Szekler writing? It is said it comes from the Dacians... Maybe you should take a look and compare it with the Middle-Eastern writings, who knows?

Brit-Am Reply:
The Szekelys or Szekely or Szeklers are a group of Hungarian-speaking peoples] living mostly in the Szekely Land, an ethno-cultural region in eastern Transylvania, Romania. The URLs that the article referred to seem to have disappeared but going from memory they were speaking of the Szekler writing. They said the Szekler from the Khazars and that the script was derived from the Ancient Paleo-Hebrew (Phoenician) writing.
We identify the Khazars with the AGATHYRSI of old, some of whom were also in Dacia, Romania. A portion of them moved to SCOTLAND and apparently to be identified with the Attacotti of the Picts.
