#2. Damon Casale: The Milesians Came to Ireland from the Middle East
#4. Stephen Phillips: Picts were not in Ireland! Germans from Assyrians and Others
Shalom Yair
Just a slight correction: I said that the Picts did not settle in Ireland. They certainly came via Ireland, but did not stay. Whilst the Scots later ruled over the Picts, the Scots and Picts were two separate peoples.
I sympathise with Damon. The Irish records are certainly in one hell of a mess. It has taken me a while to sort out.
First of all, I would point out that Brigantia in Spain did not exist in the sixth century BCE. It is first mentioned by Pliny who called it Cluniensum, a name which is translated into English as Clunia by John Bostock (Nat Hist iii.4) and as Corunna by H. Rackham (Nat Hist iii.3 (26) - follow links to see copies of the texts). Ptolemy called it Flavium Brigantium (Geography ii.6 §.4) and is the first to refer to it by this name.
To understand the Irish history, you need to understand that there were actually two Milesian invasions, though I can assure you that the first 'invasion' was actually a peaceful settlement. The Irish pseudo-historians have confused the details of the two invasions which are actually separated by nearly one thousand years.
Damon also needs to:-
a) disassociate Niul son of Milesius from Queen Tea. He (or more correctly they) belong(s) to the second Milesian invasion.
b) disassociate the fictitious Scota and her two "sons" Heber (Iberian Scythians) and Heremon (Armenian Scythians) from Queen Tea. (As pointed out by Thomas F. O'Rahilly, Scota originally only had two sons, but over time, further sons were added.)
Both of these stories are spurious. If you read Roger O'Connor's Chronicles of Eri (available in two volumes either to view online or download as a pdf file from www.archive.org - the services are free*), you will notice the following:-
a) He is describing events which took place immediately after the Ten Tribes had been taken into captivity. His story starts from the time they were dwelling around the river Hiddekel where the Assyrians had planted them. When you realise this, you should observe that these Scythians were still in Armenia when the first Milesian invasion occurred.
b) The Scythians were Baal worshippers, and the Irish records are quite categorical when they say that Baal worship was introduced by Tuathal Techtmar centuries after Queen Tea's party arrived. (NB: The suggestion by George Petrie that the giant stone phallus which stands on the hill of Tara is the Lia Fail is absurd. The phallus is associated with Baal worship, which was introduced centuries after Lia Fail.)
c) These Scythians came directly from Scythia via northern Spain. They did not go via Egypt!
When you realise this, you will probably make some leeway. I will be giving you a whopping big clue if I tell you that the Nemedians, Fir-Bolgs and Danaans were all descended from Sru son of Easru. (General History of Ireland, p.75, Geoffrey Keating, translated by Dermod O'Connor, Dublin 1861)
*I can provide you with the full URLs for Chronicles of Eri should you require.
As an aside, if you look at the flag of Abkhazia (see http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/27/Flag_of_Abkhazia.svg/2000px-Flag_of_Abkhazia.svg.png), you will notice the hand of Zerach on a red background. This flag appears to date from the time when the tribe of Calchol ruled over the land. The green stripes represent the colour of the tribe of Judah. (The white perhaps representing the tribe of Benjamin?)
[The Precious gem of Judah is called the nofekh. This was described as sky -blue. Yair Davidiy tentatively identified it as a type of garnet. Stephen Phillips however says the nofekh was green, as mentioned in the next sentence.]
For Mr Davidiy's benefit: Onkelos and Targ. Yer. I support this value of nofek (Judah's stone) as a green stone (i.e. emerald - see http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/articles/6574-gems#anchor5 not responding?).
It is Mr Davidiy's prerogative to disagree, but the evidence suggests that green was certainly the colour of the tribe of Judah.
Psalm 89 begins: "Instruction [maschil] for Ethan the Ezrachi". Now why do you suppose it is that a psalm about king David's everlasting throne should be dedicated for the instruction of Ethan son of Zerach? The tribe of Ethan appear in the Irish records variously under the names Uaithne, Ethne, Ethlenn, Ethnenn, Etain, Tain and Ith. The Autenii mentioned by Ptolemy as dwelling immediately to the south of the Oudiai (Judah's) were one sub-section of the tribe of Ethan.
"It is the glory of G-d to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter." (Prov. 25:2)
G-d bless,
Steve

2. Famous Rabbinical Scholar, HaMairi (1200s CE), on Nebuchadnessar and the Sun-Worshipping Origin of Christianity
HaMairi (Menachem Meiri 1249 - c. 1310, Spain, on Ovadah Zarah 71) about the name Notsrim:
#... I explain [the name Netser] as in the expression of Jeremiah, "Notsrim [watchmen] coming from a distant land" (Jeremiah 4:16). They were called Notsrim by the people after Nebuch-Natser [Nebuchanessar, King of Babylon]. It is known that in Babylon there was an image of the sun. All the people of Nebuchanessar would worship it. As you know the first day of the week is named after the sun [Sunday]. Because of this it was also known as the Day of the Notsri as it was dedicated to Nebuchad-Netser and the rule of the sun. #
Jeremiah 4:
16 Tell the nations, 'Here they are!' Proclaim against Jerusalem, 'Besiegers [Notsrim] come from a distant land; they shout against the cities of Judah.
cf.
Jeremiah 31:
6 For there shall be a day when sentinels [Notsrim, waltchmen] will call in the hill country of Ephraim: 'Come, let us go up to Zion, to the Lord our God.'

3. Scythians in the Caucasus from the Iron Age?
As some of the oldest Greek myths are located in the Caucasus, I had always thought that antiquities might possibly be found there, of an age even more remote than those of Troy. But it seems that I have been mistaken, for Professor Rudolf Virchow, of Berlin "who attended the Archaeological Congress at Tiflis in September and October, 1881, and who himself made excavations in the most ancient cemetery of the country, the prehistoric necropolis of Upper-Koban, which has been explored since 1869 " ascertained that even this necropolis belongs to the very beginning of the iron-age, though bronze is still preponderant in it, and that neither there nor elsewhere in the Caucasus have any prehistoric antiquities, in the proper sense of the word, as yet been found, nor have any stone-implements ever yet occurred. Nevertheless the celebrated explorer thinks that the necropolis of Upper-Koban may probably belong to the tenth century before our era.* " Rudolf Virchow, Das Graberfeld von Koban itn Lande tUr Ossden JCaukasus

4. Dumnoni Links between Ireland and Britain
Dmnoni connections
Extract:
http://carswell.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/carswell-dna-study-article .pdf
When the Romans arrived in Scotland, it was recorded that it was the Damnoni tribe who was settled in the lands of Ayrshire, Renfrewshire, Lanarkshire, Dumbartonshire and parts of Stirlingshire. There were also Damnoni tribes known in Devon, Britanny and Ireland. They all spoke old British, a P-Celtic language similar to Welsh. One account states that: "These were the Dumnonii, who gave their name to Devon, while their most powerful Irish branch was known as the Laigin, and gave their name to Leinster. The Dumnonii (or Domnonii) settled as a distinct tribal population in the south of England and in several areas of Ireland, exercising overlord status over larger regions. A branch from Ireland settled in the area south of Dumbarton in southern Scotland before the arrival of the Romans in the mid-first century A.D., and became the ancestors of the Strathclyde Britons".11 As Dumbarton is on the North shore of the Clyde River, the first district to the south would be Renfrewshire. It is probable that the Damnoni of Strathclyde believed in the same myths and legends as the other Celtic tribes. Indeed, some of the Irish myths seem to originate in Strathclyde; one of the greatest heroes of the Ultonian cycle can be traced to British origin:- Cuchulain, the warrior hero of King Conor mac Nessa, is most likely British. "The Irish legends hint at the British origin of this warrior hero. There is a battle Cuchulain fights with Ferdia, a Damnonian. Cuchulain tells Ferdia that he is unwilling to fight Ferdia, as they are friends and of the same race". 12 The Carswell family seem to have had a close relationship with the Campbells at some stage(s). John Carswell, Bishop of the Isles, was the Domine of the Earl of Argyll, as his father had been before him (and before that?) as well as being the Constable of Carnasserie Castle. This suggests a special relationship between them. The position of "cearbhaill" or "battle leader" 13 to a tribal chief was a Celtic tradition. O'Curry states in "Manuscript Materials of Ancient Irish History", Lecture XVIII, that many of these champions were ollaves (expert teachers) of martial skills and educated the noble sons of Erin. 14 10 Newall, F. 1960. 5. Mark Williams: Kennizite/Kenezite Kongruence Konfirmed. Was Caleb A Judahite?
Hello again
Joshua 15:14
14. Hebron, therefore, became the inheritance of Caleb the son of
Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he fulfilled the will of
the Lord God of Israel....
17. And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it; and he
gave him Achsah his daughter for a wife.
Wikipedia suggests that his father was from the Kenezites, an
Edomite tribe. Kenizzite in this case being congruent with Kenezite.
This seems reasonable given that there are no Kenez's amongst
Jacob/Israel's grandchildren.

Brit-Am Reply:
A similarity or identity of names in Biblical Exegesis often (but not always) indicates a shared origin OR presages a future association.
This may be the case here.
The extract below says that the name Kenizzi is an adjectival noun connoting "hunter".
Other sources have linked the root "Kein" or "Cain" with a word meaning metal-worker, cf.
Genesis 4:22. "Zillah bore Tubal-cain, who made all kinds of bronze and iron tools"
cf.
Caleb the Gentile?
by Avram Yehoshua

Extracts:
Easton's Bible Dictionary says that kenaz means 'hunter.'10 The NIV Bible Dictionary and Nave's Topical Bible11state that kenaz means 'hunting.' Therefore, it seems that the designation of 'the Kenizzite' (haKenizi) means that Jephunneh was given the appellation of 'the hunter.' That's most likely why Eliphaz named his son Kenaz (hunter). This doesn't link Jephunneh to the ethnic group called the Kenizzites anymore than Kenaz, the son of Eliphaz, could be said to come from the ethnic group of the Kenizites. In other words, the term is a designation, title or a name that anyone could have apart from that ethnic group.
Caleb's father, having the term 'the hunter' as part of who he was known as, cannot be used to link him to the ethnic group called the Kenizzites (which means 'hunters') anymore then one can say that King David and King Louis the VIII of France (1223-1226) came from the same lineage because both are called kings, or that Joe Louis and Muhammed Ali came from the same lineage because both are called boxers, or that Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays came from the same lineage because both were famous American baseball players.
