1. Did William the Conqueror Have a Jewish Mother? by Joshua Gelernter
https://mosaicmagazine.com/picks/2016/05/did-william-the-conqueror-have-a-jewish-mother/
Extract:
According to the 19th-century historian Edward Freeman, William the Conqueror, who was also known as William the Bastard, was sometimes known as 'William the Mamzer.' This is where things get interesting. Mamzer is a Hebrew pejorative meaning the child of an illegitimate sexual relationship, such as adultery or incest. In Europe, it may have entered the vernacular as a pejorative for the offspring of a particular type of illegitimate relationship, one between a Christian man and a Jewish woman. . . . [Furthermore], in medieval Europe, tanners were frequently Jews. . . .
We know that in the 11th century Normandy was home to a large number of Jews. By some estimates, its capital Rouen began that century with a population that was one-fifth Jewish. And we know that William was relatively fond of the Jews: after his Conquest, he suggested Normandy's children of Israel resettle in England, a surprising invitation, even for someone interested in developing trade and finance. . . .

Digs 2018: Migration and Immigration in Ancient Israel
Read the full article from the January/February 2018 issue of BAR

In the Elah Valley, Aren Maeir (Bar-Ilan University) directs the excavation at Tell es-Safi, which most scholars identify as the ancient Philistine city of Gath, one of the five cities of the Philistine Pentapolis and the home of the giant Goliath mentioned in 1 Samuel 17. The Late Bronze Age residents of this site, the Canaanites, were displaced by the Philistines, who immigrated to the region toward the end of the Late Bronze Age (c. 1200 B.C.E.). Maeir's latest research from Safi has suggested that the Philistines weren't simply Aegean peoples arriving and conquering the Late Bronze Age residents of the eastern Mediterranean coast, but were the result of an 'entangled' culture, slowly mingling 'Western' peoples (e.g., Mycenaean, Minoan, Cypriote, Anatolian, etc.) with Canaanite coastal peoples over a lengthy period of time.

4. Amnon Goldberg. Dresden
My letter in the Jerusalem Post Metro:
"Caught in a Zionist firestorm" referred to the bombing of Dresden as "controversial"! In February 1945 the German nation still had plenty of fight in it: V rockets were falling on London, the Soviet advance in the east and the Anglo-American in Italy had stalled, and the extermination of European Jews by German hands continued apace.
British Bomber Command were the only ones to extract some form of worthwhile vengeance - nekamah - with their appropriately named Operation Gemorrah 1000 bomber firestorm raids, which reduced "the House of Esau to flaming stubble" (Ovadiya 1:18).
In WW2 55,000 British bomber crew perished whilst carrying out this this 'mitzvah': "All your operations were planned with great care and skill. Though executed in the face of desperate opposition and appalling hazards, they made a decisive contribution to Germany's final defeat. The conduct of the operations demonstrated the fiery gallant spirit which animated your aircrews, and the high sense of duty of all ranks under your command. I believe that the massive achievements of Bomber Command will long be remembered as an example of duty nobly done" (Winston Churchill).
Â
"The Germans have sown the wind, and now they are going to reap the whirlwind" was the motto of Air Marshall Arthur "Bomber" Harris, paraphrasing Hoshea 8:7. Yet today loony-leftists and misguided liberals want Harris and his men to be labelled as war criminals: "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil!" (Yeshaya 5)

5. Possible Jewish Origins of Queen Elizabeth-2 through Prince Albert
Did Victoria's husband have Jewish roots? by Simone Jaffe
(forwarded by AG).
http://www.jewishtelegraph.com/nat_2.html
Extract:
The Coburg Conspiracy (Ephesus Publishing), which is now available as an eBook, questions the paternity of Queen Victoria's husband Prince Albert.
Author Richard Sotnick believes the prince's father may have been a German Jew called Friedrich Blum.
Victoria and Albert are the great-great-grandparents of Queen Elizabeth II.
There have been various claims previously suggesting that Albert had Jewish blood.
'The Blum family originally came to Germany from Lithuania and Latvia,' Richard said.
Some of its members moved to England and anglicised their name to Bloom.

6. The Irish Famine By Jim Donnelly
http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/british/victorians/famine_01.shtml
Extracts:
This was not an artificial famine as the traditional Irish nationalist interpretation has long maintained - not at any rate at the start. The original gross deficiency of food was real. In 1846 and successive years blight destroyed the crop that had previously provided approximately 60 per cent of the nation's food needs. The food gap created by the loss of the potato in the late 1840s was so enormous that it could not have been filled, even if all the Irish grain exported in those years had been retained in the country. In fact, far more grain entered Ireland from abroad in the late 1840s than was exported-probably almost three times as much grain and meal came in as went out.
This set of ethnic prejudices, which have now been abundantly documented, had the general effect of prompting British ministers, civil servants, and politicians to view and to treat the Catholic Irish as something less than fully human. Such prejudices encouraged the spread of 'famine fatigue' in Britain at an early stage, and they dulled or even extinguished the active sympathies that might have sustained political will - the will to combat the gross oppression of mass evictions, to alleviate the immense suffering associated with reliance on the poor-law system, and to grapple with the moral indefensibility of mass death in the midst of an absolute sufficiency of food.

7. Human height through the Ages
We know from the results of North Korea and South Korea that malnutrition will decimate the stature of its people. From an old article entitled 'Longevity & health in ancient Paleolithic vs. Neolithic peoples'
http://www.beyondveg.com/nicholson-w/angel-1984/angel-1984-1a.shtml
by Ward Nicholson it said that men who lived in the Hellenistic times (300 BC-100 AD) were about 172 cm [5 ft 7"] and women were around 156 [5 feet 1] cm.
From another credible source TheGospelCoalition.Org entitled 'What did Jesus Look Like?' by Justin Taylor
From an analysis of skeletal remains, archeologists had firmly established that the average build of a Semite male at the time of Jesus was 5 ft. 1 in., with an average weight of about 110 pounds.Â
1st century men in the Roman Empire were between 5 ft and 5' 4.

8. What was former German Kaiser Wilhelm's opinion of the Nazis?
by Gabriel Chan
https://www.quora.com/What-was-former-German-Kaiser-Wilhelms-opinion-of-Hitler-and-the-Nazis
The exiled ex-Kaiser hoped that the Nazis would restore the German monarchy but Hitler has zero respect for the institution that lost Germany the war the first time.
Wilhelm II was furious with the street violence and assassinations carries out by the SA, especially against his loyal Jewish subjects. When he found out one of his sons supported the pogroms, he basically disowned him.
Later, the ex-Kaiser was happy with Germany's victories but attributed the successes to the German nation, not the Nazis. He died before the reversal of fortunes aka the invasion of the USSR.
'There is a man alone, without family, without children, without God....He builds legions but he doesn't build a nation. A nation is created by families, a religion, tradition: it is made up out of the hearts of mothers, the wisdom of fathers, the joy and the exuberance of children. [Of Germany under Hitler he says]....an all-swallowing State, disdainful of human dignities and the ancient structure of our race, sets itself up in place of everything else. And the man who, alone, incorporates in himself this whole State, has neither a God to honour nor a dynasty to conserve, nor a past to consult....
For a few months I was inclined to believe in National Socialism. I thought of it as a necessary fever. And I was gratified to see that there were, associated with it for a time, some of the wisest and most outstanding Germans. But these, one by one, he has got rid of or even killed....He has left nothing but a bunch of shirted gangsters....
This man could bring home victories to our people each year without bringing them...glory....But of our Germany, which was a nation of poets and musicians and artists and soldiers, he has made a nation of hysterics and hermits, engulfed in a mob and led by a thousand liars or fanatics....'
