What's Wrong With This Picture? For U.S. Fight Against ISIS, Everything

Up until June 10, Iranian officials had been content to shape events in Iraq quietly through their hold on local Shiite militias and the prime minister at the time, Nouri al-Maliki.
Then the Iraqi government lost Mosul, the nation's second-largest city, to the growing Sunni extremist force now known as the Islamic State, or ISIS. The U.S. eventually responded: It forced a new government to take power, sent in airpower and military advisers, and launched an international effort against ISIS in both Iraq and Syria.
.... Iran is embracing the Iraqi government and the Shiite militias.
The U.S., meanwhile, is still developing its policy against ISIS -- and it knows, according to administration officials, Syrian opposition figures and outside analysts interviewed by The Huffington Post, that as a latecomer to the game, it has entered an arena in which Tehran's rules dominate.
In a surreal turn of events for two countries that have not had diplomatic relations since 1979, the U.S. and Iran are seeing their interests align: Both support the central Iraqi government and the Kurds in the north, and both hope to eradicate ISIS.
In order to roll back ISIS, a Sunni militant group, the U.S. is essentially working alongside Iranian-backed Shiite militias. The only way those militias can win is ugly, as Amnesty International has documented and U.S. officials know -- and their behavior undermines any chance at reconciliation with Iraq's Sunnis.

New revelations show the Palestinian Authority's (PA) official daily targeted rabbis as enemies just a week before the horrific attack on a Jerusalem synagogue this Tuesday, in which four Jews were murdered as well as a Druze policeman in an attack with hatchets, knives and guns.
The official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida published an op-ed last Wednesday claiming "the rabbis of the secret societies" are the ones ordering Israel to "set the foundations for an external hegemony," as revealed by Palestinian Media Watch (PMW).
"The Zionist settler ideology does not seek temporary influence or gains...but rather sets the foundations for an eternal hegemony based on the instructions of the 'rabbis' of the secret societies. And all this is in order to take revenge on history and their minority and false persecution complex," read the op-ed.
The same piece said rabbis are "desecrating" Al-Aqsa Mosque, and "are enemies, and they have a hand in everything that is happening: in the issue of ISIS (Islamic State) and its arming, in importing explosives to the Arab lands, in the spread of extremist ideas and the deepening of the doctrinal conflict between Sunnis and Shi'ites. In addition, they are the ones creating the crises. They are the ones igniting the civil wars."
Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) has exposed how despite PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's condemnation of the synagogue attack - a condemnation his own PA clarified was a lie as it celebrated the "heroic" attack - PA and Hamas leaders have been busy justifying the murderous attack.

The European chancelleries have already pulled the form letter they dispatch when Jews are murdered by various Arab terrorists from their files, and have expressed their condolences.
But in Europe, there was no real grief for the pogrom in Har Nof, but manifestations of moral and political equivalence between the Israeli civilians and the Arab terrorists. Like the Jews, the Jewish State is a pain in the neck, and the world would feel relieved without it.
Sweden, UK, France and Spain are all voting these days to recognize the 'Palestinian State'. The same entity which holds major responsibility for the massacre in Jerusalem.
Meanwhile, the European Union's new foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini just visited Gaza and Ramallah, where she embraced the Har Nof terrorist goal: the division of Jerusalem and the establishment of a Palestinian State.
Of course, for Europe, Israel is to blame by its very being, for everything. Even for its own blood, spilled by barbarians.
The European Union will not stop funding the Palestinian Arabs media: radios, tv, newspapers and educational programs which are publicly inciting to slaughter the Jews.
Why hasn't the European Parliament ever convened to condemn the killing of a single Jew at the hands of an Arab terrorist?
In Rome, these days, I saw posters asking for the liberation of the Palestinian terrorist Ahmed Saadat, the maths teacher currently held in an Israeli prison. Saadat is the current leader of the Popular Front of Liberation of Palestine, the group which took responsibility for the killings in Har Nof.
In the French city of Valenton, France, a street has just been named after Marwan Barghouti, the terrorist leader who recently called to spill Israeli blood in Jerusalem. In Palermo, the souther Italian city, Barghouti has just been named an 'honorary citizen'.
The former UK foreign minister, Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, just tweeted a message that implied equivalence between the Har Nof terrorists and Jews protesting over Temple Mount.
In Turin, Italy, there is a museum hosting a UNWRA exposition saying that the Sabra and Shatila massacre was committed by the Israeli army and demonizing the Israeli fence which helped stop the suicide bombers.
During the Six Day War in 1967, then Italy's senator Giovanni Spadolini, one of the very few pro Israeli figures, wrote that was 'a census of consciences'. Most of Europe stood with Egypt's Nasser and the Arab dream to throw the Jews into the Mediterranean. Today there is another census of consciences, where most of the Europeans stay supporting the Palestinian Arab cousins who shouted 'Allah Akbar' and exterminated four wonderful rabbis praying to the God of Israel, prayer which is stronger than lies and hatred.
Open any European daily newspaper these days: you will not find a single commentator writing that what happened in Har Nof has nothing to do with 'occupation' (the killers had Israeli ID cards and did not have to pass checkpoints).

Two Jewish yeshiva students were stabbed near the Jaffa Gate of Jerusalem's Old City Monday evening, Israel Police said.
A man in his mid-40 s sustained serious wounds in the attack, and a second, in his early 30 s sustained lighter wounds, according to the Zaka rescue service.
Medics provided initial first aid and evacuated both to the city's Sha'are Tzedek Hospital.
According to an initial investigation, the two yeshiva students were attacked by at least three Arabs in the event, Police Spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld told The Algemeiner.
'Three suspects have been arrested in the Old City, one adult and two minors, who are being questioned in the attack,' Rosenfeld said.
Police and Border Police are searching the area for accomplices to the attack and have closed all of the gates to the Old City, according to reports, in order to stabilize the situation.
The stabbing comes as tensions in the capital are high in the wake of calls late last week by Arab leaders to step up attacks against Israelis.
As well, on Friday, official Palestinian Authority (PA) TV and Fatah called for carrying out violent terror attacks in and around Jerusalem, according to a watchdog group.
' Good morning to you, good morning to your pride, and to your hands preparing to throw stones and ignite the gasoline in the Molotov cocktails, greetings from the Good Morning Jerusalem program,' PA TV 's Friday morning broadcast said, according to Palestinian Media Watch.

TEL AVIV (Reuters) - An Israeli company says it has developed technology that can charge a mobile phone in a few seconds and an electric car in minutes, advances that could transform two of the world's most dynamic consumer industries.
Using nano-technology, Tel Aviv-based StoreDot says it has developed a battery that can store a much higher charge more quickly, in effect acting like a super-dense sponge to soak up power and retain it.
The company believes it will be ready by 2016 to market a slim battery that can absorb and deliver a day's power for a smartphone in just 30 seconds.... The company has raised $48 million, including backing from a leading mobile phone maker.
