One of Hezbollah's recent achievements has been boosting Israel's security, said former Mossad chief Efraim Halevy on Thursday, according to Israeli Channel 2 News.
'Hezbollah, day by day, is contributing to the security of the state of Israel,' said Halevy during a conference held by the Fisher Institute for Air and Space Strategic Studies in Israel.
Halevy's seemingly shocking comments were not quite as controversial as they may have first appeared. One of the conclusions reached at the conference was that the path to victory in smaller wars against irregular forces and terrorist organizations, like Hezbollah in Lebanon or Hamas in Gaza, Â can be achieved through a confluence of various interests.
Halevy went on to address Hezbollah's involvement in the bloody Syrian civil war. He stressed that the group's entanglement in the fierce combat raging in Syria boosted Israeli security because it has kept the organization's hands tied while inflicting many casualties among its well-trained fighters.
Another way Hezbollah is contributing to Israel's security, he said, is by 'challenging and weakening [the Islamic State] in a significant manner, a manner in which we are not capable. We cannot compete with them.'
Halevy also highlighted recent events in Gaza, wherein Hamas reportedly has been making efforts to suppress the growth of the Islamic State in the Gaza Strip.
'A group of individuals raised the flag of the Islamic State atop a mosque [in Gaza],' said Halevy, 'and within a few hours they were buried and the flag was burned.'
He noted that, 'if we had done this, we would not have had any casualties, and they would have condemned us the world over.'

'Muslim Scholars: Israel Is 'Root Cause' of All Islamic Nations' Failures! by Jordan Schachtel, Breitbart, May 27, 2015
Muslim clerics gathered in Beirut on Wednesday to kick off the Khomeinist International Union of Resistance conference, where 'scholars' discussed how to stand up against the 'cancerous tumor of Israel,' according to reports from Lebanese and Iranian media outlets. Radical Iranian cleric Mohsen Araki said that destroying Israel and 'countering the arrogant world' should be the two main priorities for 'resistance clerics,' reports Iran's state-run Taghrib News. Araki, who once served as Iranian dictator Ali Khamenei's representative in London, continued with his speech. 'Standing against the arrogant world and its representative in the region, the cancerous tumor of Israel, is a must which should be shouldered by resistance clerics and leaders,'  he said, according to the state-media report. Al Manar, a media outlet closely affiliated with the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah, said that scholars 'praised the achievements' of the Iran-allied Assad regime in Syria. Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Naim Qassem told the audience that Syria's successes on the battlefield, with the help of Hezbollah and Iran,  are 'a pure success which will be followed by others, Allah willing.' When asked whether criticism of his terrorist group was legitimate, the Hezbollah leader said that such criticism only 'serves the Israeli scheme,' Al Manar reported. Qassem, as Hezbollah's second-in-command, has regularly reminded observers that his organization's chief goal is to seek the destruction of Israel. He has argued that Islamic law allows for Hezbollah jihadists to carry out suicide attacks against Israel. ... The Muslim 'academics' unanimously agreed that 'confronting the Tel Aviv regime' is a  'top priority of Islamic resistance movements.'

3. HUCKABEE: GIVE THE PALESTINIANS A STATE - BUT NOT IN ISRAEL

Huckabee recalled his first trip to Israel back in 1973 at the tender age of 17, noting, "I fell in love with the country then...there's a unique kind of spirit that exists in Israel. I know what that spirit is - I believe it's G-d."
Indicating the tension between US President Barack Obama's administration and Israel and referencing the Israel Day Concert, he remarked, "anyone who thinks that the United States is abandoning its support of Israel - obviously they weren't in Central Park today, because they would have found out that there is strong, passionate sentiment to stand with Israel."
The presidential candidate said he couldn't explain why the Obama administration or Europe are showing such hostility to Israel, noting Europe is displaying a new and renewed form of anti-Semitism that is both "unprecedented and frightening."
He then turned his attention to the much touted "two-state solution," by which Israel would give up its Biblical heartland of Judea and Samaria to create a Palestinian Arab state.
The idea of "two governments holding the same piece of real estate is irrational and unworkable, and I think it's time for us to quit playing this pretentious game," he emphasized.
The Palestinian Authority (PA) does not recognize Israel's right to exist as the Jewish state, something which Huckabee said does not allow an alliance to be forged with them.
He noted that the Palestinian Arabs could have their own state - but only outside of the land of Israel.
