1. Coronavirus and Blood- Groups
https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.03.11.20031096v2
The novel coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) has been spreading around the world rapidly and declared as a pandemic by WHO. Here, we compared the ABO blood group distribution in 2,173 patients with COVID-19 confirmed by SARS-CoV-2 test from three hospitals in Wuhan and Shenzhen, China with that in normal people from the corresponding regions. The results showed that blood group A was associated with a higher risk for acquiring COVID-19 compared with non-A blood groups, whereas blood group O was associated with a lower risk for the infection compared with non-O blood groups. This is the first observation of an association between the ABO blood type and COVID-19. It should be emphasized, however, that this is an early study with limitations. It would be premature to use this study to guide clinical practice at this time, but it should encourage further investigation of the relationship between the ABO blood group and the COVID-19 susceptibility.

Extracts:
Washington: One of the most prominent China hawks in US Congress has urged Australia to play a crucial role in helping the United States win a new "cold war" against an increasingly expansionist Chinese Communist Party.
Republican Senator Rick Scott, a member of the powerful Homeland Security and Armed Services Senate committees, said democracies must wake up to the fact that China is seeking "world domination" and needs to be confronted head-on rather than appeased.
Elaborating on his views of the Chinese regime, Scott said: "They don't believe in human rights. They don't believe in free trade. They don't believe in fair trade. They don't believe in the rule of law. They don't want to be a caring world citizen. They're willing to take away people's rights. I'm disgusted with how they treated Uighurs and how they treated Hong Kong citizens."

3. PA tax money to go to Palestinians tortured for working with Israel
Israel's Enforcement and Collection Authority takes matters into its own hands after the PA refuses to pay out court-ordered compensation to a group of 52 Palestinian citizens.

Extracts:
Israel has confiscated some 2.5 million shekels ($724,000) of the tax money it collects on behalf of the Palestinian Authority to be paid to three Palestinians who were subjected to torture after the PA accused them of working with Israel.
The three recipients are part of a group of 52 Palestinians who sued the PA in the Jerusalem District Court for damages after PA authorities arrested them on charges of "collaborating" with Israel. All were tortured.
The decision to take some of the money out of the tax income Israel collects for the PA marks the first time that Israel has taken such a step to enforce a court ruling.
The government said in a message issued by the Jerusalem office of the Law Enforcement and Collection Authority that one of the three plaintiffs would be allotted some 550,000 shekels ($159,000); the second would be paid some 978,000 shekels ($283,000), and the third 912,000 ($264,000) shekels.
Attorneys Arie Arbus and Barak Kedem, who represented the Palestinian plaintiffs, said, "We congratulate the state for freezing the PA funds and delivering them to our clients. This is the beginning of historic justice for horrific acts by the Palestinian Authority, and we hope that the court will soon rule on millions of shekels more in compensation for other damages."
