The death of Prince Philip, coming at a time of turmoil in Britain's royal family, offers a moment to reflect on the meaning of monarchy. And, for that matter, on the events spanned by his astounding life, including not only the 74 years in which he was the husband of Elizabeth II but also his family's entanglements with Germany and his own rise to side with the Allies, for whom he appeared in arms in World War II.

Philip's death was announced this morning by Buckingham Palace. In 1921, he'd been born in Greece and into the royal families of both Greece and Denmark. In the turmoil of the Greco-Turkish war, his family - with infant Philip,  was banished from Greece. He eventually ended up at an elite school in Germany, Schule Schloss Salem, where, in Philip's own account, he first glimpsed the 'antisemitic frenzy' gripping Germany.

And where he early displayed an ability to stand apart. Schloss Salem's founder, Kurt Hanh, who was Jewish, had 'already been driven out of Germany by Nazi persecution and this was well known throughout the school.' One of Philip's schoolmates was Jewish, though Philip was unaware of it until the lad was set upon by some schoolmates and had his hair cut off. Philip gave the lad his cricket cap in an act of solidarity.

Philip later ended up at the school Kurt Hanh founded in Scotland, Gordonstoun. Philip related the story in 1994, when he attended at Yad Vashem the ceremony at which his mother, Princess Alice, was recorded as one of the Righteous Among the Nations for sheltering a Jewish family in Greece. She is buried at Jerusalem. Philip himself became the first member of the Royal Family to visit the Jewish State. That, of course, was after the war.

In 1939, Philip entered Britain's naval academy, Dartmouth, and, soon thereafter, met Elizabeth, then 13.

Iran's underground Natanz nuclear facility lost power Sunday just hours after starting up new advanced centrifuges capable of enriching uranium faster, in an incident described by an Iranian lawmaker as probable 'sabotage' and by unnamed Western intelligence officials as a possible cyberattack.

As Iranian officials investigated the outage, many Israeli media outlets similarly assessed that a cyberattack darkened Natanz and damaged a facility that is home to sensitive centrifuges. Some reports offered no sourcing for the evaluation, while others cited Western intelligence sources.

Public broadcaster Kan said Israel was likely behind the attack, citing Israel's alleged responsibility for the Stuxnet attacks a decade ago. That report didn't provide a source. Channel 12 news cited Western intelligence sources as estimating the attack shut down entire sections of the facility.

Iran also blamed Israel for the killing of scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh last year who began the country's military nuclear program decades earlier.

Tehran and Jerusalem are currently believed to be engaged in a maritime shadow war, with both sides blaming the other for explosions on vessels.

On Tuesday, an Iranian cargo ship said to serve as a floating base for Iran's paramilitary Revolutionary Guard forces off the coast of Yemen was struck by an explosion, likely from a limpet mine. Iran has blamed Israel for the blast.

Israel has not claimed any of the attacks, though Netanyahu repeatedly has described Iran as the major threat faced by the country in recent weeks.

Meeting with Austin on Sunday, Gantz said Israel viewed America as an ally against all threats, including Iran.

'The Tehran of today poses a strategic threat to international security, to the entire Middle East and to the state of Israel,' Gantz said. 'And we will work closely with our American allies to ensure that any new agreement with Iran will secure the vital interests of the world, of the United States, prevent a dangerous arms race in our region, and protect the state of Israel.'

Does anyone know anything more about these people?
Dr. Eitan Bar? Dr. Golan Broshi? Steve Martin? Dr. Avigdor Shenan?

Dr. Eitan Bar and Dr. Golan Broshi were apparently born in Israel but are recent graduates of the
Dallas Theological Seminary.
This is an evangelical theological seminary in Dallas, Texas.  Superficially some of its sponsors support the State of Israel.
Bar and Broshi apparently wrote a combined Doctoral Dissertation claiming that the Sages invented the oral Tradition or borrowed parts of if from pagans and Christians.
The Dissertation was recently accepted by the DTS.
If that was all there was to it we would not pay attention.
Their thesis has however been translated into Hebrew, published in book form and is being aggressively advertised all over the Hebrew Web.
Their coverage includes fulls-screen daily adverts on the Jerusalem Post site, the Quora Site,  Britannica online, and several other sites dealing with ancient history, history,  or news and visited by Hebrew-speakers who also read Hebrew.
Everywhere I go on the Web I seem to come across them!
How is that? How can so many disparate sites be displaying the same message? It does not stand to reason that those responsible for these sites are interested in the content of these adverts.
The explanation seems to be that since I use Google as a search engine all of the sites have an arrangement with Google whereby Google advertises for them and remits to them money according to results obtained.
Google would do the same for anyone and once proposed that we too participate in such a deal. We declined at the time for the very reason we are now being targeted. The type of advert sent cannot be controlled. The advert you see when you enter a site is not necessary that viewed by others who go tot he same site at the same time!
Everyone here, if they use Google as a search engine and operate from the same Computer will have developed a Computer Personality.
Based on one's age, sex, interests, sites viewed in the past, etc., you will be considered an appropriate audience for certain  types of message.
For some reason the adverts the anti-Judaism adverts emanating from Dallas Theological Seminary graduates have been deemed appropriate for my humble self as well, I assume, for the not-so-humble selves of others like me!
Google apparently has an algorithm based on Computer Usage that allows people such as myself who fit this description to be targeted.
The price of such a  campaign in Israel is usually even more than what it would cost in the USA.
Someone among the Evangelicals is paying MILLIONS OF DOLLARS for all this.
Its only apparent intention is  to undermine the Jewish Faith.
Not only that but from what we have seen the claims made are specious. They are designed to make an impression on Jews who are otherwise literate but know little about Judaism.
Alternately they are also intended to weaken any attraction conventional Judaism may hold for Righteous Gentiles.
Whatever their motivation may or may not be, their message is a false deceiving one.
Steve Martin who is some kind of Evangelical Missionary in Israel seems to support them.
They are also linked with Dr. Avigdor Shenan who wrote a widely-publicized book claiming the Lost Ten Tribes were in the east among Japanese, Afghans and the like.
Was this also somehow part of the campaign against Judah?
