1. G. Forrester:Â The Picts of Scotland and the American Revolution
George said:
Hi Yair, I would like to share a thought with you ,on the subject of the Picts and their possible identity , as deduced from a recent historic event, namely the American Revolution. This may seem farfetched but it is my considered opinion that the US and Canada relate to each other in a manner similar to England and Scotland , therefore it maybe possible to deduce from US history ,images of past events in the British Isle.I would like to note that the Yankee Americans differ from their English cousins ,in that they are Anglo Normans and not Anglo Saxons, the Yankee element being created by Danish / Norman invaders, over many centuries, culminating in the Norman Conquest in 1066 It is my belief that the Picts who arrived on the west coast of Scotland were actually Britons ,displaced from England by Danish invaders. They were forced to take refuge among a Galic people who were then controlling Scotland .This event has an identical parallel in the era of the American Revolution, which witnessed the exile of tens of thousand of Anglo Saxon Loyalist to Canada, following their defeat by the Anglo Norman Yankees. The province of Ontario being the result of this migration, it being carved out from a then Galic Canada. The people we call Scots today are a mixture of these elements ,as the Canadians of tomorrow will be.The subsequent migration of Asian,Africans,Arabs ,Jews,Slavs and Latinos will also be mixed into this group ,creating the puzzle, historians are trying to solve today. Why the Name Efrat?
https://www.efrat.org.il/english/about/?id=66
Who was Efrat? The Midrash tells us that Efrat was Miriam.
Who was Miriam?
Miriam was the sister of Aaron and Moses. A courageous woman who attained the supreme spiritual level of prophecy, Miriam was granted an additional name, Efrat, which has the same root as pru u-revu [increase and multiply] - to populate the world - in recognition of her heroic measures in saving Jewish children from annihilation.
Pharaoh decreed that all male Jewish infants were to be drowned and declared the death penalty to anyone evading his orders. Miriam personally intervened, endangering her own life to save Jewish children from certain death. In addition, she provided the children's families with all their needs. As a result of her bravery, the Jews continued to multiply and the Jewish nation survived.
We at EFRAT aspire to emulate Efrat's accomplishments and save the lives of unborn Jewish children. We could not think of a more fitting way to honor Miriam-Efrat's bravery than through naming our organization in her memory.

Brit-Am Comment:
The name "Ephrat" is also connected to Ephraim.
Perhaps there is a connection, somewhere? In Prophetical terms?
1-Kings 11:26
Then Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephraimite of Zeredah, Solomon's servant, whose mother's name was Zeruah, a widow, also rebelled against the king.
The Hebrew word translated above as "Ephraimite" is "Ephrathi" i.e. Efrat.

4. Religion as a Catalyst for Inner Predilections?

Catholics in Belgium
The Catholic Church in Belgium did a lot to save Jews. They were almost as good as the Calvinists in France and the Netherlands. Is there an ethnic element here? In other places Catholicism was not necessarily a positive influence as far as the Holocaust is concerned. Does religion act like a catalyst and bring out the good and bad in people according to their inner predilections?
