 1. THE BIBLICAL ROOTS OF THE LEGEND OF ROBIN HOOD by "Anonymous"
http://thealeph-tavproject.com/The%20Aleph-Tav%20Project%203%20Teachings-%20The%20Legend%20Of%20Robin%20Hood.html
A subscriber to our list who wishes to remain anonymous has compiled an interesting comparison between the legend of Robin Hood and the Biblical story of King David.
We have not yet looked at the other articles on his site but this particular piece is interesting.

2. New Feature. BABS. Brit-Am Bible Studies.
Read and Study the Bible in a Year.
The Hebrew Bible is called the Tanach.
The word Tanach stands for "Torah (the Pentateuch, Five Books of Moses); Neviim (Prophets); Cetuvim (Writings)".
The Psalms is part of the Cetuvim (or "Ketuvim") meaning literally "Writings" but in English frequently referred to as "Wisdom Books".
Published editions of the Hebrew Tanach use a traditional arrangement of sections alongside the same chapter numbering as that found in Christian Bibles. The reason is that the present chapter system is in effect a Christian arrangement but the Jews also use it. The Christian system overlaps to a degree with the traditional Jewish one but is not the same.
Correct versions of the Hebrew Tanach have the traditional chapter arrangements known as "sederim,"Â in the singular "seder".
Each "seder" equals about 1 and a half to two of the traditional [Christian] chapters, sometimes more.
A program exists of reading the Tanach sections of all the Prophets (Neviim) and all the Cetuvim (Writings) in the course of a year.
http://www.tanachyomi.co.il/
This requires going through one seder a day six days a week.
They who are interested in also reading the Torah (Pentateuch) section may do on the Sabbath or in their own time.
Yair Davidiy never learnt as much of the Tanach as he should have. What he did learn he has begun to forget. We need to learn more and to revise what we have already learnt the same as everybody else does.
We are now about to undertake the program, "Tanach Yomi" (Daily Bible).
In the past we had our own program.
Biblical Studies:
http://www.britam.org/ContentsSubject.html#lic
http://hebrewnations.com/articles/bible/
We read through and studies (sometimes in depth) a good portion of the Bible.
We began with the Book of Hosea.
Next Monday we will (God willing) begin "Tanach Yomi" again from the Book of Hosea.
We will see how it goes.
We wish to enable Brit-Am subscribers to participate in this.
We propose to send out every one or two or three days a summarization of the relevant sederim (chapters), plus a brief explanation, plus (where relevant) references to commentaries on the subject that we wrote in the past.
A certain degree of trial and error will naturally be involved. Your feed-back will be needed.
Details will Follow.

3. Question Concerning What is Brit-Am/Hebrew Nations?
Shalom Yair,
Tell me a bit more re "The Brit Am Movement." How does it differ from the "Hebrew Roots Movement"?
Thanks,
Steve
==============================
Brit-Am Reply:
We have here a confusion of terms:
Brit-Am/Hebrew Nations
holds that the Lost Ten Tribes are now primarily to be found among Western Peoples.
We use Brit-Am Criteria
http://www.britam.org/criteria.html
to determine which nations most likely descend from Israel and which do not.
A proven compatibility with the Jews of Judah is one of the most important points.
Brit-Am/Hebrew Nations
sees its role as encompassed by the Three Rs:
Research
Revelation
Reconciliation
Brit-Am/Hebrew Nations consists of
(1) The Brit-Am Organization that publishes books, is active on the Internet, and spreads the message, etc.
(2) The Hebrew Nations Movement [alternately referred to as Brit-Am/Hebrew Nations] that consists of the rank and file, is responsible for fellowship of members and sympathizers, etc.
"The Brit Am Movement"
should more correctly be termed
The Brit-Am Organization
Brit-Am/Hebrew Nations comprises both Jews and non-Jews.
In principle our beliefs and teachings are compatible with the viewpoints of Orthodox Judaism BUT we try not to offend Christians.
"Hebrew Roots Movement" as far as we understand is a Christian phenomenon which tries to return to what it considers to have been the original Christian religion and practices.
There is NO connection between us.
In the past people who were prominent in the "Hebrew Roots Movement," such as Eddie Chumney, showed an interest in Brit-Am/Hebrew Nations.
In recent years however their interest has waned.

4. New comment on video
The Celts Called Themselves Hebrews!
John Murphy
The early Celtic writings affirm they are of the Hebrew tribes . Traveling over the Caucus mountains where we get the term Caucasian for white people. They went by the names Scythians and Cimmerians.
