2. What Happened to the Earliest Europeans?
From: Simon
Greetings from Australia
Â
Hi, I have watched several of your you tube videos. They are very interesting. I have a couple of questions if you don't mind answering them.
Â
1. I assume there were Europeans in Europe prior to the 'lost tribes' moving into Europe. Were the original inhabitants of Western Europe Israelites?
If so, when did they enter Europe and how were the separated from Israel?
Â
Why aren't the French, Germans or Slavs Israelites? My understanding is that most Europeans have very similar genetic heritage.
Â
Keep up the great work.
Si.

Brit-Am Reply:
The inhabitants of Europe before the Israelites arrived assumedly remained as a minority. We do not rely on DNA studies but to some degree we can take cognizance of them. They say that before ca. 1000 BCE in Western Europe certain types were predominant after which other types took over. We are not saying that EVERYONE in the west is of Israelite ancestry, only in certain areas, and in those areas not necessarily all the people. The most important point from our point of view is that is where the Lost Ten Tribes are mainly to be found.
We do find many from Israel in France which historically was dominated by the Tribe of Reuben.
Amongst the Germans and Slavs Jews and Israelites were also present BUT never in a determinative sense.
See Ephraimite Criteria:
http://www.britam.org/criteria.html
We also believe that other peoples related to the Israelites such as Edom, Moab, Ammon (as well as Canaanites and Philistines), and the Children of Gomer, also moved westward alongside them.
You said that:
"most Europeans have very similar genetic heritage. "
If you are referring to DNA then we incline to the notion that DNA reflects the environment BUT even if we consider it as purely a matter of heredity it still fits our understanding.

3. Orjan Svensson: Swedish Place-Names from Ancient Israel Especially those of the Tribe of Gad.
Historically one of the oldest and most important cities of Sweden was Kalmar. The Calmar Union,
a temporary political union (1397-1523) between Sweden, Denmark and Norway, was formed in and got its name from Kalmar.
Today the city of Kalmar has around 40000 inhabitants. The first component of the name of Kalmar is "KALM", meaning "heap of stones" in Swedish dialects.
It would therefore be possible to interpret the name as meaning "heap of stones of Ar" or "column of Ar". However, during an early period Kalmar
was spelled Calmarna, which would mean "heap of stones of gravelly place". This I now however suggest was only a temporary spelling employed during
a period about 800 - 1000 years ago, the original meaning being indeed "column of Ar". The coat of arms of Kalmar is the oldest known of any Swedish city.
It features a tower surrounded by two stars of David. However, the stars seem not to have been present from the start. Kalmar was Sweden's watch tower
towards the south-east, guarding the boarder to Denmark and the Baltic, and known as the key of Sweden.
Similarly the city of Ar was situated in the south-east of the land of Israel. Now, north of Ar were the cities of Aroer, Beth Gamul, Beth Meon, Dibon, Atarot,
Nebo, Sibmah and Heshbon. These, according to my understanding seem to possibly correspond to Ravemala, lmeboda, Emmaboda, Dangebo, Konga, Nobbele, Hovmantorp and
Lessebo west of Kalmar. Bod in Swedish placenames means booth or small house, like Hebrew beth, so it is not so strange to imagine that for example Beth Meon
could become Emmaboda.
Moving further west in Smaland we find Ingelstad, Skatelov and Urshult around lake Asnen. Ingel I believe means Ayin El, and corresponds according to my understanding
to Peni El in the territory of Gad. Peniel during a period under Jeroboam and his son Nadab served as capital of the kingdom of Israel. In Ingelstad exists one of the most famous
burial mounds of Sweden, with a standing stone and a stone ball on its top. In the land of Israel Peniel was east of Sukkoth, similarly to how Ingelstad is east of
Skatelov in Smaland. Urshult, to the south of lake Asnen, could correspond to Beth Paor.
Further, the Swedish town of Monster's, north of Kalmar, could according to my understanding have been originally named after the city Ashteroth in Gilead.
Researchers have struggeled to understand what the origin of the name of Monsteras could be.
Vaxja and Gemla I believe could have been named after Aphek and Gamla of Golan.
Regards,
Orjan
