Extracts:
Applying these Criteria to the Roma, we find:
1. Blessings. The Roma are not noted for having been blessed beyond the level of those among whom they dwell. On the contrary.
2. Indications of Scripture. There are no indications of Scripture as far as know.
3. Groundwork: There is no historical or other link between Ancient Israel and the Roma.
4. Judah: Affinity with the Jews. The Roma are not noted as being anti-Jewish as far as I know but neither did they tend in the opposite direction.
5. Originality: Innovation and Intellect. The Roma are workers with metal and possess some degree of ingenuity but their intellectual achievements are not considered as notable ones.
6. Bravery, Military Prowess. The Roma did have this to some degree.
7. Empathy: The Doing of Social Justice. The Roma by report often do show some empathy for the oppressed.
8. Israelite Self-Identification. The Roma lack this as far we know. They do not consider themselves Hebrews and never have.
9. Family Connection. There is no connection between other peoples identified as Israelites and the Roma.
10. Tribal Affiliation. There is no connection to any Israelite Tribe.
The Roma are theretofore not descendants of the Lost Ten Tribes. They may meet three of the 10 requirements and on some of the others the matter may perhaps be debated. Nevertheless this is not enough.
The historical truth is lacking.Â

#1. The Five Stages of Redemption are in Reverse Order!
I would like to post my comments on Chaim Clorfene's "Five Stages of Final Redemption."
I. Ezekiel 37:11-14 does not speak of the physical resurrection of the dead. The Jewish people considered the lands of their exile as the lands of their captivity, as being like prisons and graves. The restoration of the lands of their enemies was regarded as 'like from the death'. In both cases, the 'dry bones' and 'graves' are a metaphoric expression for the spiritual national death of the whole House of Israel. By opening their graves God ensured that the time of the exile is over. Rabbi Yehudah in the Sanhedrin 92b confirmed exactly what we are saying. In his opinion, the entire episode of the 'dry bones' is a parable, a metaphor. Ezekiel did not mean an actual physical resurrection of the dead to eternal life. Rambam in Moreh Nevuchim (Guide for the Perplexed) 2:46 believes that the 'open graves' in the prophecy of Ezekiel is not a physical resurrection of the dead, but rather in line with other symbolic prophetic visions often used by Ezekiel throughout his book. He admitted that in the Messianic Time, if God wills, there might be some resurrections of the dead, those resurrections will be temporary; the resurrected people will possess all the characteristics of mortals: eat, drink, be visible in their physical bodies, be able to produce offspring, and eventually die, as any other men on earth, after a long and happy life during the years of the Messianic Age. Maimonides strongly differentiates between a temporal physical resurrection in the Messianic Time and an eternal general spiritual resurrection in the End Time for the World-To-Come, and calls those who believe otherwise 'utterly foolish' and their theories 'follies.' The 'dry bones' and 'graves' prophecies of Ezekiel are not the real physical resurrection of the dead. These prophecies are a continuation of previous passages of different chapters speaking of the same theme, Â the spiritual awakening and restoration of Israel.
II. The reconciliation and reunification of the whole House of Israel will be done by the Messiah, Â this is his most important task.
III. The Third Temple may be built before arriving of the Messiah. The Performance of the Torah's Commandments Does Not Depend Upon the Messiah. There are no Biblical verses that make a connection between the building of the Holy Temple and the arrival of the Messiah. The building of the Holy Temple is a commandment that is binding upon all of Israel to fulfill, in every generation.
In fact, if there really is a question as to "Which comes first, the messiah or the Temple," there seems to be ample indication that the building of the Holy Temple will precede the messiah's arrival. Various Biblical verses and statements made by the great sages prove this. This is actually the opinion of Maimonides, who quotes an astounding verse from the prophecy of Malachi (3:1) in his classic Letter to Yemen:
"For suddenly the master whom you are seeking will come to his sanctuary." It appears that this prophecy, referring to the arrival of the messiah, specifies that he will indeed arrive at the already built Temple.
"The Holy Temple will in the future be re-established before the establishment of the kingdom of David" (Jerusalem Talmud, Ma'aser Sheni 29) In the same way, the builders of the Second Temple did not wait for the messiah to arrive. For example, in the Midrash Yalkut Shimoni (Isaiah 499) it is stated: "Our rabbis taught: when the messiah arrives, he will stand on the roof of the Holy Temple and shout out to Israel: 'Humble ones! The time of your redemption is at hand!'"
In this scene, the messiah arrives to declare to his people Israel that the promised and long-awaited redemption has arrived... and Israel meets him in the Holy Temple. At the same time, we also understand that in the event Israel has not yet built the Temple by the time the messiah arrives, one of his duties will be to instruct them to do so. It is to this scenario that Maimonides refers when he states in his "Laws of Kings:
"In the future, the messiah king will arrive... and build the Temple.
Shalom,
Alexander Zephyr
