1. Traditional Tribal Affiliations of a Few Hasidic Dynasties:Â
Munkacs: Tribe of Issacar.

Vishnitz: Tribe of Benjamin.
Belz: Tribe of Yehudah

2. Some Rabbinical Identifications of Edom
The Talmud (Megilla 6) associates Esau with both Rome and Germany.
Esau is other wise known as Edom. Esau gave rise to Rome. Sefer Yosefon says that Zapho son of Esau was the first king of Rome.
There appears to be more than one lineage linking Esau to Rome.
During the 1st World War Rabbi Yiscar Dov of Belz opined that both Russia and Germany (even though theywere at war with each other) were part of the Kingdom of Edom.
Russia was identified with Edom by:
Rabbi Mendel of Rimanov (1745-1815), "Ateret Menachem" (as well as German Austria).
Rabbi Yiscar Dov Rokeach of Belz (reigned 1894-1926) "Sichoson shel Ovdi Ovos,"Â p. 166. Also identified Germany as Edom.
Rabbi Menachem A. MeMunkatch, "Tehillim, Chaim ve-Shalom," 117.
Poland
Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Kaidanover (c. 1705) "Kav VeYashar," 2;1 in the name of a certain [unnamed] Mekubal (i.e. mystic). This reference was eliminated by the Governmental censor.
Shneur Zalman of Liadi (1745-1812) Baal HaTanya, "Mamamrei Admor haZakan," p.282.
German Austria (as well as Russia)
Rabbi Mendel of Rimanov (1745-1815), "Ateret Menachem"

3. Ten Tribes to be found among Ashkenazi Jews?
Forwarded by Mrs R.
Brit-Am Preliminary Note:
Rabbinical Traditions concerning the Ten Tribes are not undivided. MOST say the Ten Tribes are still in Exile.
A few say they have returned and are to be found among the Jewish People.
There are those who identify the Ten Tribes with the Ashkenazi Jews.Â
We disagree with this. So do most Rabbinic sources BUT this opinion is worth knowing about.
It may involve sources that actually confirm OUR OWN identification of the TTs with Western Peoples.
There were representative minorities from all the other Tribes found with Judah in the same way as elements from Judah were with the Ten Tribes.
Nevertheless Scrip[ture identifies the Jews with Judah and Joseph (.i.e. the Ten Tribes) with the Lost Ten Tribes.
Here is a source discussing the relevant opinion.
12 tribes: is Ashkenazi jews one of them?
https://judaism.stackexchange.com/questions/60011/12-tribes-is-ashkenazi-jews-one-of-them/60014#60014
Extract:
... in Tragum Yonatan (Bereishis, 49, 8) he writes that the blessing to Yehuda included that all the tribes be named after him.... Furthermore, some claim that the Ashkenazi Jews are might in fact the descendants of the ten tribes and they "prove" that claim from the Book of Obadiah (end of chapter 1) .... It is seems to be opinion of the Aruch and the Maharshal (on the Gemara Yevamos, page 17).

4. Nick Ashton: Celebrating the British and Australian Liberation of the Holy Land, 1917
Hello Yair,
I don't know if you have any contacts in SE England but there is a free event on the 100th anniversary of the fall/capture of Jerusalem on 9th December
Most of World War 1 is just sad and terrible, but the essential capture of the Wells of Beersheba by the Australian Light Horse, the peaceful taking of Jerusalem and the Battle of Megiddo are hardly known, I would have thought that on the 100th anniversary there would be at least one documentary but strangely our state media is doing anything but!
If anyone is interested in these amazing events and the prophecies that foretell them there is a free display and presentation from 4pm, 9th Dec. at Bernays Memorial Hall, The Broadway (next to Sainsburys) Stanmore, London HA7 4DA (top of the Jubilee line)
