The Seven Wondrous Yardsticks of Israel
Previously we spoke of Criteria that enable us to decided whether or not a particular nation is of Israelite Descent.
We arrived at 10 different Yardsticks,
i.e.
Brit-Am ("Ephraimite") Criteria
https://hebrewnations.com/articles/biblical-proof/criteria.html
The Original 10 Criteria were:
1. Blessings: Economic and Physical Blessings as promised to Israel in Scripture.
2. Indications of Scripture.
3. Groundwork: Historical, Archaeological, and Related Proofs showing paths of migration.
4. Judah: Affinity with the Jews.
5. Originality: Innovation and Intellect.
6. A Civilizing Influence.
7. Empathy: The Doing of Social Justice.
8. Israelite Self-Identification.
9. Family Connection.
10. Tribal Affiliation.
These Ten different attributes in some cases overlap each other. Some are much more important than others. In some cases they are quote strongly in evidence but in others hardly noticeable. All This is liable to create confusion and uncertainty.
We have therefore reduced the 10 original criteria to SEVEN!
The Present 7 Criteria are:
1. Blessings: Economic and Physical Blessings as promised to Israel in Scripture.
2. Other Indications of Scripture in addition to the Blessings.
3. Groundwork: Historical, Archaeological, and Related Proofs showing paths of migration.
4. Judah: Affinity with the Jews.
5. Civilized and Civilizing. The Lost Ten Tribes were expected to become a civilizing influence over many nations, and to conduct themselves in a relatively humane manner. They were to serve as agents of influence that the rest of humanity would learn from and perhaps take as model examples.
6. Family Connection. An identified nation needs to have proven ethnic links to at least one of the other nations who have already been identified.
7. Tribal Affiliation. Each recognizable separate ethnic entity needs to have characteristics that allow us, even if only in a tentative way, to identify them as one or more of the Israelite Tribes.
Beliefs and Behavior in light of the 7 Criteria:
1. Belief in God. Blessings: The Lost Ten Tribes have been Blessed with Economic and Physical Blessings as promised to Israel in Scripture.
2. Bible. Indications of Scripture strongly indicate that the Lost Ten Tribes are in the west. This is in addition to Proof from the obviously apparent Blessings. This leads to belief in the Bible.
3. Groundwork: Historical, Archaeological, Linguistic, and Related Proofs prove that conclusions derived from Scripture were historically feasible. Biblical Knowledge is barrelled by that of Secular Sciences once these are properly understood.
4. Judah. The Lost Ten Tribes are distant brothers to the Jews of Judah: There is a need to feel an unconditional affinity with the Jews and in general support the State of Israel.
5. Civilized and Civilizing. Members of the Ten Tribes need to live good lives in the light of Biblical Knowledge.
6. Family Connection. Members of the Ten Tribes need to be positive members of their own Tribes and friendly towards other Israelites.
7. Tribal Affiliation. We should endeavor to clarify what Tribe we most likely belong to. It is possible to have several Tribes in mind and also to change one's mind as new insights materialize.
