Prayers. B"H. I think the Icelandic Eddas mention the remote Scandinavian ancestors living on the "Ida plain". In ancient history, Dardanus and Idaeus founded the Trojan civilization on Mount Ida in the Troy-land of north western Turkiye.

Homer's Odyssey mentions that the Laestrygonians lived in a country where two jobs could be worked in day. This indicates a land in the far north where there were long summer days due to the northern latitude,i.e., Scandinavia. It shows that bronze age Greece had contact with the far north of Europe.

A British sovereign coin of St George and the dragon closely depicts the imagery of Genesis 49:17, where Dan is a serpent (or a dragon as scripture uses the terms interchangeably) bites at the horse heels. Ireland is associated with snakes through the story of St Patrick driving the snakes out of Ireland. St George is the patron saint of England.
