Towards the end when the Ottoman Empire began to decline about 5 million Turks were killed in wars against the Christians in the Balkans, etc. Another 5 to 9 million Muslims moved from other parts of the Empire into the Turkish regions of Thrace and Anatolia.
Massacres of Christians.
Armenian Christians and Christians belonging to the Assyrian Church were brutally persecuted and massacred over the centuries by Turks especially towards the end of Ottoman rule.
Turks and Jews.
Many Jews suffered from discrimination and deprivation at the hands of the Turks in the First and Second World Wars..The Jews of Jerusalem had also been marked for extermination in WW1 by the Ottomans but the German allies and advisors of the Turks intervened to save the Jews. �A REDEEMER�: This is the Messiah. This will be a National Leader who will go to war against the enemies of Israel. Actually two Redeemers are spoken of here. One will come to "Zion" meaning Judah and elements from Joseph. Another will deliver "Jacob" meaning the rest of the Israelite Tribes.
21 "AS FOR ME, THIS IS MY COVENANT WITH THEM," SAYS THE LORD. "MY SPIRIT, WHICH IS UPON YOU AND MY WORDS THAT I HAVE PLACED IN YOUR MOUTH, SHALL NOT MOVE FROM YOUR MOUTH OR FROM THE MOUTH OF YOUR SEED AND FROM THE MOUTH OF YOUR SEED'S SEED," SAID THE LORD, "FROM NOW AND TO ETERNITY."
This is a covenant. God will always be with the seed of Israel. We are descended from Israelites. God will be close to us when we turn to him. We must return and accept upon ourselves the yoke of heaven and acknowledge our heritage and duty.
