10. The Exiles will Fly Back. Redemption Begins from America.

Sect. 27

Isaiah 27:
13 SO IT SHALL BE IN THAT DAY:
THE GREAT TRUMPET WILL BE BLOWN;
THEY WILL COME, WHO ARE ABOUT TO PERISH IN THE LAND OF ASSYRIA,
AND THEY WHO ARE OUTCASTS IN THE LAND OF EGYPT,
AND SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD IN THE HOLY MOUNT AT JERUSALEM.

#.... the outcasts (which are in America) shall come by the Mediterranean Sea to Alexandia in Egypt....
And because the gathering together of the Captivity, shall begin at those who are in America, therefore Isaiah says,

Isaiah 60:
9 SURELY THE ISLES SHALL TRUST IN [WAIT FOR] ME, AND THE SHIPS OF TARSHISH FIRST, TO BRING THY SONS FROM FAR, THEIR SILVER AND THEIR GOLD WITH THEM...
# They shall then come with seed from those countries, prostrating themselves at the Mountain of the LORD in Jerusalem, as the Prophet Hosea says of that Redemption, in

Hosea 11:
10 THEY SHALL WALK AFTER THE LORD.
HE WILL ROAR LIKE A LION.
WHEN HE ROARS,
THEN HIS SONS SHALL COME TREMBLING FROM THE WEST;
11 THEY SHALL COME TREMBLING LIKE A BIRD FROM EGYPT,
LIKE A DOVE FROM THE LAND OF ASSYRIA.
AND I WILL LET THEM DWELL IN THEIR HOUSES,
SAYS THE LORD.

so says Isaiah in:

Isaiah 60:
8 WHO ARE THESE WHO FLY LIKE A CLOUD,
AND LIKE DOVES TO THEIR ROOSTS?
[9 SURELY THE ISLES SHALL WAIT FOR ME, AND THE SHIPS OF TARSHISH FIRST, TO BRING THY SONS FROM FAR, THEIR SILVER AND THEIR GOLD WITH THEM, FOR THE NAME OF THE LORD THY GOD, AND FOR THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL, BECAUSE HE HATH GLORIFIED THEE. ]

Menesseh ben Israel thought the Amerindians to be at least in part descendants of the Lost Ten Tribes. Part of his evidence included Biblical verses referring to the End Times.
He lived in the 1600s and like many others of his age evidently believed that the End Times were just around the corner.
The verses quoted spoke in his view of the Ten Tribes coming back from America. The USA as a nation at that time did not exist. It now does. The USA today (in the 2020s) fits Biblical prophecy much better.
In at least two instances the prophecies quoted indicated a return by flying. These days we fly in aeroplanes. It is quite common and relatively easy. In the 1600s they did not have aeroplanes and may not have even imagined the possibility of such things.
We may therefore take Menesseh as having been correct concerning a future return from America but being mistaken as to who the returnees were to be.

Isaiah 60:
8 WHO ARE THESE WHO FLY LIKE A CLOUD,
AND LIKE DOVES TO THEIR ROOSTS?

Hosea 11:
10 ...THEN HIS SONS SHALL COME TREMBLING FROM THE WEST;
11 THEY SHALL COME TREMBLING LIKE A BIRD FROM EGYPT,
LIKE A DOVE FROM THE LAND OF ASSYRIA....

Brit-Am has also opined that the Ten Tribes in America will be the first to be redeemed. We based this on a Midrash saying that the Redemption will begin from descendants of the Tribe of Manasseh in Gilead east of the Jordan.

The Midrash (Perkei DeRabbi Eliezer, ch. 17; Yalkut Shimeoni, Psalms 60) comments on the above deed of the people of Jabesh Gilead in the territory of Manasseh east of the Jordan:

"Where do we learn about the duty of doing Acts of Kindness to those who are Mourning? We learn it from the people of Jabesh Gilead [who said to themselves]: 'Are we not obligated to repay kindness to the man who saved us from being disgraced by the people of Ammon?' Consequently all the valiant men amongst them stood up and went all night long till they reached the walls of Beth-Shean, as it says, "ALL THE VALIANT MEN AROSE, AND WENT ALL NIGHT, AND TOOK THE BODY OF SAUL" (1-Samuel 31:12).
God therefore said unto them, I will give you a reward in the future for I am destined in ingather Israel from the four corners of the earth, AND FIRSTLY HE INGATHERS THE HALF-TRIBE OF MANASSEH. This is written in Psalms (60:7) "Gilead is Mine, Mine is Manasseh", and after that He ingathers Ephraim, as it says, "EPHRAIM ALSO IS THE STRENGTH OF MINE HEAD" (Psalms 60:7).

We identify the USA as dominatyed by the Tribe of Manasseh. The above Promise of bneing the first in line for Redepmtion may therefore apply to the USA!

11. No-one Can Tell when Prophecy will be fulfilled.

# These are the things which I could gather concerning this matter, which hath not been heretofore handled; from whence these consequences may be deduced.
1. That the West-Indies, were anciently inhabited by a part of the 10 Tribes, which passed thither out of Tartary, by the Strait of Anian [Bering Straits].
2. That the Tribes are not in any one place, but in many; because the Prophets have foretold their return shall be into their Country, out of divers places; Isaiah especially saith it shall be out of eight.
3. That they did not return to the 2d: Temple.
4. That at this day they keep the Jewish Religion.
5. That the prophecies concerning their return to their Countrey, are of necessity to be fulfilled.
6. That from all coasts of the world they shall meet in those two places, so: Assyria, and Egypt; God preparing an easy, pleasant way, and abounding with all things, as Isaiah saith, Chap. 49. and from thence they shall fly to Jerusalem, as birds to their nests.
7. That their kingdom shall be no more divided; but the Twelve Tribes shall be joined together under one Prince, that is, under Messiah the Son of David; and that they shall never be driven out of their land. #

Menasseh no. 4 says above that the Ten Tribes will have kept the Jewish religion! He may be relying on Esdras 4 for this, quoted above.
This source is part of the Apocrypha and unreliable, especially when it is contradicted by mainstream Biblical Prophecy.

The Book of Hosea (chs. 1, and 2, and throughout the book) and the Talmud (Yebamot 17 a,b) and other sources say the Ten Tribes will be like Gentiles and not know their Identity until shortly before the end.. This too is our understanding

Menasseh continues lamenting the persecutions to which Judah was subjected throughout its exile. There will be a Future Redemption for Judah and for the Ten Tribes.

14. Recapitualtion: Prophecies Expressly recalling America and the Return of the Ten Tribes.

Menesseh understands from Isaiah 11:11 that the Ten Tribes in the End Times would be in eight different places.
One of these would be America. He conflates the West Indies with America.
We agree with him that the verses in question may well be referring to America but we understand it (based on other Biblical verses and related sources) to be North America and/or to North America together with the British Isles and parts of Western Europe.
Here are some of the relevant verses and quotes from Menesseh:

Isaiah (JPS Tanakh 1917) 60:
9 SURELY THE ISLES SHALL WAIT FOR ME, AND THE SHIPS OF TARSHISH FIRST, TO BRING THY SONS FROM FAR, THEIR SILVER AND THEIR GOLD WITH THEM, FOR THE NAME OF THE LORD THY GOD, AND FOR THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL, BECAUSE HE HATH GLORIFIED THEE.

The word translated as above "ISLES" in Hebrew is "EYIM" sometimes rendered as "COASTLANDS" but "ISLES" is more correct from a literal point of view, and that is how Menasseh understood it.

Manasseh says that Isaiah 60:9 may be understood to refer to the West Indies because it lies in the midst of the Ocean and has many islands.

to which he comments:

Deuteronomy 32:26 I WOULD HAVE SAID, "I WILL DASH THEM IN PIECES,
I WILL MAKE THE MEMORY OF THEM TO CEASE FROM AMONG MEN,

Indeed virtually forgotten.
Applied to the Ten Tribes.

# Isaiah 11:11....The Islands of the Sea, so most translate it; but I think it is to be rendered The islands of the West, for ("YAM") in Holy scripture signifies The West, as in Genesis 28:14, and in many other places; and upon this account those Israelites are implied, whoa re westward from the Holy Land, among whom the Americans are.

#... he calls the Israelites out-casts, but the Jews scattered; and the reason is, because the Ten Tribes are not only far off from the Holy Land, but also they live in the extremities and ends of Countries; from whence the Prophet calls them cast out. But he doth not say, that the Israelites are to be gathered from the four quarters of the earth, because they are not so dispersed through the world, as the Tribe of Judah is, which now hath synagogues, not only in three parts of the world, but also in America.

# The Prophet Isaiah says in chap. 11.11. that he will return them THE SECOND TIME, &c. Now the redemption from Babylon, cannot be called such an one, because all of them were not brought back to their Country. But the redemption shall be universal to all the tribes, as it was when they went out of Egypt; which redemption shall be like the first in many things,

I WILL BRING YOUR DESCENDANTS FROM THE EAST,
AND GATHER YOU FROM THE WEST;
6 I WILL SAY TO THE NORTH, GIVE THEM UP!
AND TO THE SOUTH, DO NOT KEEP THEM BACK!
BRING MY SONS FROM AFAR,
AND MY DAUGHTERS FROM THE ENDS OF THE EARTH.

Elsewhere we have shown that "Ships of Tarshish" meant boats plying the Atlanlitic Ocean between America and Europe and therefore implying ships coming from North America or Britain. This is where the Israeltie Exiles from the Lost Ten Tribes will return from!
