Feminization and Its Price. The Religion of Secularism (30 March 2017, 3 Nisan, 5777)
Recently in Israel, Rabbi Yigal Levinstein was criticized for saying that Jewish girls who serve in the IDF end up a little less Jewish and a little less feminine.
These words caused a minor furor. The Minister for Defense, Avigdor Lieberman, and leading generals, etc, along with a bevy of hysterical female politicians and public personages all began screaming and protesting.
In the past he has also been attacked for criticizing the presence of homosexuals in the Army.
Who is Rabbi Yigal Levinstein?
Rabbi Yigal Levinstein heads a pre-conscription academy at Eli near Shiloh in Samaria.
The graduates of this academy and of other educational institutions belonging to the National Religious camp provide from 40 to more than 50 per cent of the front line troops and even a higher proportion of the NCOs and officers.
They make up the main fighting force of the IDF even though they comprise only about 16% (or less) of the population.
They are also the ones who wish (more than 90%) to stay in Israel whereas many (ca. 36%) of the secular wish to leave.
What is the Ruckus all about?
Secular Zionist pride themselves on the IDF and its achievement. Many pecaddiloes are allowed in the name of IDF and other defence needs.
Propaganda for Israel frequently uses pictures of winsome girls serving in the IDF.
The fact is that this harms the army!
Scientific studies in Israel by the IDF, and overseas by the USA Armed Forces, and by the British Military, and perhaps elsewhere as well show that the presence of females in the army lowers the fighting abilities of that force.
Not only that but the women often suffer physical damage due to physical exertion (fallen wombs, etc) that later impairs reproduction ability.
In addition the social consequences frequently result in abortions and other damages that may cause suffering later in life.
The social costs include:
Lower Fighting Abilities.
Waste of resources that could go to employ and equip full time soldiers, etc.
Less Jewish babies.
Delayed marriages.
Marriages that statistically have less chance of being successful.
In other words Israeli Society pays a price.
And what does it pay the price for?
The furtherance of Feminist Agenda and further Secularization of Israeli youth at their coming of age is achieved.
This is an agenda that is anti-religious but has all the characters of an irrational faith in its own right.
It is against Jewish Rabbinical understanding of the Torah.
It also needlessly antagonizes the Arabs. As far as we are concerned beat them, shoot them, transfer them elsewhere when necessary BUT do not rub their noses in the dirt.
This degrades both them and us and could have superfluous repercussions.

A whopping 27% of the Jewish population of Israel would leave the country if they could, according to a survey conducted for Masa Israeli- Israeli Roots Odyssey on the eve of its fourth conference to be held at the Knesset Monday.
The highest rate of those who wish to leave was among secular Jews, where 36% said they would have left. Among religious Jews only 7% expressed the same wish.

Rabbi Yigal Levinstein said: 'They're driving our girls crazy. They draft them. They go in Jewish and they're not Jewish when they come out; not in terms of genetics. Their whole system of values becomes confused, their priorities, home, career. They,ll make them all crazy. Agreeing to this is forbidden.
Levinstein had a close relationship to Israel Defense Forces commanders until he spoke out publicly last summer against the IDF policy of treating gay soldiers in an egalitarian manner, and called gay people 'perverts.' Since then, the army has not allowed Levinstein to lecture to soldiers.

In 2008, the proportion of females who did not enlist rose to 44%, from which 34.6% did not enlist on religious grounds.

Rabbi Yigal Levinstein, who runs the Bnei David academy in the Eli settlement, made the comments in remarks to several hundred students visiting from another West Bank pre-military academy.
In January, Levinstein called gays 'perverts' during a speech at a conference attended by about 700 rabbis and educators convened to deal with the perceived influence of the Reform movement on Israeli society. That remark prompted various Israeli leaders to call for Levinstein's removal.
'Under the framework of pluralism, soldiers and officers are taught to refer to [LGBT people] as 'proud,' but I don't dare call them that. 'Perverts' is what I call them,' he told the conference.
Some 4,000 religious girls reportedly serve in the Israel Defense Forces.
