My German teacher said the name was not German and then when I started studying Hebrew I found it in the Torah. Also my grandpa lived just like Tevia in Fiddler on the Roof. The family had migrated to the Pale from Switzerland when another branch moved to America when they were pushed to make decisions about staying with their land if they signed up with the church or loose it if they didn't.

Answer:There are things I can say/teach Christians to help them see the issue of Joseph and Judah becoming one. I try to pick only those I think are able to handle the information. Many times it helps them decide whether they are interested in the subject. It takes a series of lessons though. The books help if they ask for more proof. I think it is best handled by seminars where people can choose to go for information, or very carefully be aware of who is interested before giving information on a one on or small group situation. We don't need to put people off.

granddad: surname Ekeren drives from Ekris in the middle of the Netherlands but it's written in a various way (Ekeris, Ekris, Eekeren, Eeckeren etc.) it is a former parish in the neighbourhood of the former Dorestad, a trade city in Viking times. The name is also known in Belgium near Antwerp. It's an old trading city too. Someone told me that Ekeren came from Ekeron in Sweden Stockholm.

Grandmother: surname Ton came out of an trading family from Northern Germany in the 19^th century that was once a part of Denmark.

Mother's side

granddad: surname Creveceur, an old french family of nobility. They intermarried with Spanish nobility. In the 14^th century my part of the family came to Henegouwen. Later, in times of persecutions because of [their] protestant believe they came to the Netherlands.

Grandmother: surname Koning. When I worked at the Jewish graveyard I found this name often. They told me that koning drives from Cohanien. It is a family of teachers and preachers
