Tribal identifications in a Few Minutes
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were the forefathers of the Israelite Tribes.
Before he died Jacob (who was renamed Israel, Genesis 32:28, 35:10) blessed his sons.
Reuben, Simeon and Levi, Judah, Zebulun, Issachar, Dan, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Joseph, Benjamin.
Each of the Tribes received a Blessing from their father.
Genesis 49: 28 All these are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father spoke to them. And he blessed them; he blessed each one according to his own blessing.
Joseph received a double blessing. Joseph was considered the Firstborn.
1-Chronicles 5:
5 Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, he was indeed the firstborn, but because he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph, the son of Israel, so that the genealogy is not listed according to the birthright;
2 yet Judah prevailed over his brothers, and from him came a ruler, although the birthright was Joseph's.
There were 12 Tribes:
Joseph was to receive all the Blessing promised to the Forefathers and even more so!
Genesis 49:
25 By the God of your father who will help you,
And by the Almighty who will bless you
With blessings of heaven above,
Blessings of the deep that lies beneath,
Blessings of the breasts and of the womb.
26 The blessings of your father
Have excelled the blessings of my ancestors,
Up to the utmost bound of the everlasting hills.
They shall be on the head of Joseph,
And on the crown of the head of him who was separate from his brothers.
All the Tribes were to be blessed but Joseph was to be blessed more than the others!
Joseph was to receive all the Blessing promised to the Forefathers and even more so! Jacob had said:
Genesis 49:
26 The blessing of your father are greater than the blessings of my forebears. They reach the boundaries of the hills of this world. Be you at the head, Joseph. And the Supreme Commander, the Crown [Nazir] of his brothers [and separate from them].
The Blessings to the Forefathers included the following;
"Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him. For I know him that he will command his children and his house after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him" (Genesis 18:18-19).
One of the purposes of the promises was that through the blessings the descendants of Abraham would be enabled to do justice and judgment (Genesis 18:19). God chose Abraham to be blessed and to bring a blessing upon all the peoples of the earth (Genesis 12:2-3, 18:18-19, 22:18 cf. 24:4). Abraham was promised that his seed would be extremely numerous (15:5, 22:17). The Blessings are an obligation to be both received and striven towards. The Israelites were to rule over other nations and all nations would be subject to them, see Genesis 27: 29, 48: 19, Numbers 24: 8, Psalms 47: 1, Jeremiah 51: 20, Micah 5: 8, This would be for the good of the peoples concerned.
We identify Joseph with the British Peoples (The USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, North Ireland, South Africa). Joseph had two sons Ephraim and Manasseh who became separate Tribes in their own right. Both Ephraim and Manasseh are found in the USA and in the other nations. Manasseh however is predominant in the USA and Ephraim in Britain and its offshoots.
They are part of the 10 Tribes who separated from Judah and lost awareness of their ancesty.
They were to be separate from Judah almost to the end (Isaiah 11:12). During their Period of Exile they will not have been recognizable as Israelites,
cf.
Isaiah 49: 21
Then you will say in your heart,
Who has begotten these for me,
Since I have been bereaved of my children
And am barren, an exile and a wanderer?
And who has reared these?
Behold, I was left alone;
From where did these come?
These are some of the blessings to Joseph.
Deuteronomy (NKJV) 33:
13 And of Joseph he said:
"Blessed of the LORD is his land,
With the precious things of heaven, with the dew,
And the deep lying beneath,
14 With the precious fruits of the sun,
With the precious produce of the months,
15 With the best things of the ancient mountains,
With the precious things of the everlasting hills,
16 With the precious things of the earth and its fullness,
And the favor of Him who dwelt in the bush.
Let the blessing come on the head of Joseph,
And on the crown of the head of him who was separate from his brothers.
Biblical Sources indicate the following blessing and characteristic attributes accruing to Joseph as:
Great numerical increase; political and military power; numerous adversaries and the senseless hatred of other nations towards him; the importance of women occasionally taking the initiative for the sake of the Tribal Nations; self-reliance; overcoming adversity and adversaries; the doing of justice and recognizing the basic equality of all Israelites and the underlying dignity of all men; the palpable assistance of Divine Providence; Blessings of climate and of the earth; mineral wealth and riches from under the earth; the blessings of Joseph to be vastly greater than those of the other Tribes who nevertheless will also be greatly blessed; the supremacy in blessing of Joseph; Joseph being set apart from the other tribes.
Joseph was also to received Important strategic locations.
Genesis 22:
17 THAT IN BLESSING I WILL BLESS THEE, AND IN MULTIPLYING I WILL MULTIPLY THY SEED AS THE STARS OF THE HEAVEN, AND AS THE SAND WHICH IS UPON THE SEA SHORE; AND THY SEED SHALL POSSESS THE GATE OF HIS ENEMIES;
Genesis 24:
60 AND THEY BLESSED REBEKAH, AND SAID UNTO HER, THOU ART OUR SISTER, BE THOU THE MOTHER OF THOUSANDS OF MILLIONS, AND LET THY SEED POSSESS THE GATE OF THOSE WHICH HATE THEM.
Admiral Sir John ("Jackie") Fisher was one of the most prominent sailors in British history. He had a reputation as an innovator, strategist and developer of the navy. It was thanks in part to him that British Navy defeated the German Navy in WW1. He claimed in 1904 that, "Five keys lock up the world! Singapore, The Cape of Good Hope, Alexandria, Gibraltar, Dover."
All these locations, of course, fell within British spheres of influence
These days the USA has bases all over the world. These bases are an important component of US and Free World Military Strategy and Foreign Policy.
Joseph Williams:
# we have military bases installed around the world because a superpower does that. It provides more efficiency in US military projection around the world, in order to snuff out any potential conflict quickly. Many of these bases provide a variety of functions, too, which makes things easier for the US military. Some of these bases are storage units, some of these bases are legitimate air force, army, or navy bases, and a few are actually testing grounds for war games and all that. #
The USA and the British and their offshoots had fulfilled the Task that was given to Joseph and they also benefited from it.
We have proofs from history, linguistics, Mythology, Cultural studies and other sources strengthening the impression received from Scripture helping us to identify Joseph with the English-speaking peoples.
