1. Introduction
The Term "Anglo-Saxon" as usually used today in the Media refers to a nationality that is predominantly white, speaks English, and is of British cultural affiliation. This term fits the same group of peoples we identify as descended from Joseph and whom the Bible often refers to as Ephraim. The USA and Britain with its offshoots are the Anglo-Saxon nations. They are also Ephraim in Biblical Terms. The Angle in Anglo-Saxon was also pronounced in Ancient Europe as Aegel. In the Bible Ephraim is referred to as a bull-calf which in Hebrew is Aegel. The Hebrew world Aegel could also be pronounced as Angle. We thus have the two forms of the same name pronounced in two different ways amongst the Ancient Hebrews concerning the Bull Calf meaning Ephraim AS WELL as amongst the ancient Angles and Saxons who gave us the term Anglo-Saxon. We identify these peoples as descended from Ephraim. We who believe in Divine Providence attach importance to names. It is therefore significant that the very same peoples we identify as physical descendants of Ephraim are still today identified by the same name for them as found in the Bible.

what does the word Anglo-Saxon mean?
Quote:
Nowadays the term AS refers to any white person whose Language is English (I take issue with that but there you go) and whose cultural affiliatios are those common to Britain and the USA (I'm quoting here!).

That is about it. That is HOW the term is mostly used.
That is therefore WHAT it means!

3. Anglo-Saxon Nations and Ephraim
We identify many among the Western Nations as to a significant degree being descended from the Lost Ten Tribes of Israel.
This includes the so-called Anglo-Saxon Nations who come from the two Tribes of Joseph, i.e. Ephraim and Manasseh.
In principle, Britain and her daughters are Ephraim whereas the USA is Manasseh.
By saying the USA is Manasseh we mean that attributes of Manasseh were expressed more by the USA and that many from Manasseh settled there.
Nevertheless Ephraim may numerically be more important both in the USA as well as in Britain the offshoots of Britain such as Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa.
In the Bible the term Ephraim may be used generically for all of the Ten Tribes.
Or it may be used for the Tribes of Joseph together, or for the specific tribe of Ephraim. It all depends on the context.
In effect the term Ephraim overlaps that of the ANGLO-SAXONS.
This includes the peoples of England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland (Ulster), Ireland, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa. It also encompasses descendants of Israelites who were in Central and Southern Europe (Germany etc) but migrated to Anglo-Saxon nations. Studies indicate that such migrants were often of different origins from those who stayed behind. They too were probably of largely Israelite ancestry.

4. Aegel and Angle were synonymous in Ancient Europe!
The term Anglo-Saxon derives from the Angles and Saxons who together with the Jutes and others conquered what is now England.
The name England is derived from that of the Angles i.e. Angle-Land is England.
The Saxons who came with the Angles were different from the Continental Saxons. They were a coastal seafaring people subject to kings. The Continental Saxons did not have kings, dwelt further to the east, and were not sea-farers.
The Saxons who came with the Angles apparently considered themselves the same as the Angles and together they came to be called Englishmen i.e. Men of the Angles.
The Angles were related to the Danes.
The Greek original of the Geography of Ptolemy referred to the Angles on the Continent as "Aggiloi" but in Latinized versions of Ptolemy "Aggiloi" has been amended to "Angli".
It has been stated that this is normal practice and that the Greek "gg" sound was pronounced as "ng".
The Angles on the Continent in Europe were referred to as Aegels by their neighbors.
See:
F.R. Klaiber, "Beowulf", (USA, 1922) p.xlii
Gwyn Jones, "A History of the Vikings", (NY 1984) p.38.
It seems to have been assumed (cf. Klaiber) that Aegel was a diminutive (nick-name) for an Angle. This however may be mistaken. The two words may in effect have been different ways of pronouncing the same word, as in Hebrew.

5. Aegel and Angle are synonymous in Biblical Hebrew!
The word Aegel in Hebrew means "bull-calf".
The first letter of this word is not the equivalent of an A as transliterated into English. It is rather an Ayin.
An ayin in some dialectical pronouncings may be rendered as an "an".
We thus find Yaacov in Ashkenazic Hebrew being pronounced formerly as "Yankov".
A famous book on Legends of the Talmud is known as Ayin Yancov (i.e. Ayin Yaacov, written by Yaacov Ben Chabib, 1516, 1566) meaning Eye of Jacob.
Here we see the ayin sound pronounced as an "an".
This was also the case in the prononciation of ayin in the Sephardic Hebrew of Italy.
John Hemingway notified us of two articles by Aron di Leone LEONI showing that formerly the Jews of Italy pronounced the ayin sound as "an"

Aron di Leone Leoni. pags. 163-208, ISSN 0037-0894
Quote:
It is well known that before World War II, the ayin was pronounced in an identical way in the Portuguese community of Amsterdam and in all the Western Sephardic settlements, from Hamburg to London and from Bayonne to New York and Curacao. Owing to the lack of an analogous phoneme in the English language, the Western Sephardic pronunciation of the ayin was described as identical with the sound of the pair ng in the English word king.
End Quote.
What the author says about Sephardic pronunciation is also valid for the Ashkenazic one as we have noted..
Aegel (bull-calf) in Hebrew could therefore have been pronounced as Angle.
Angle and Aegel meant the same and were the same.
This was a nickname for Ephraim.
Angle is the source of the name "England," i.e. "Angle-Land," i.e. Land of the Bull-Calf, Land of Ephraim, Land of "John Bull", a nick-name for England!

5. Ephraim is the Bull-Calf (Aegel)
The Rabbinical Commentator Rashi (Rabbi Shlomo Yitzchaki 1040 - 1105, North France) is the most revered of all Biblical and Talmudic Commentators.
In his explanations on the Bible, Rashi on Isaiah 27:10 says that Aegel (bull-calf) was a name for Ephraim. He quotes Jeremiah 31:10 as supportive evidence. Rashi takes the equation of Ephraim with Aegel in Jeremiah 31:10 as self-evident!
Jeremiah 31:
18 Indeed I heard Ephraim pleading:
You disciplined me, and I took the discipline;
I was like a bull-calf [Hebrew: aegel] untrained.
Bring me back, let me come back,
for you are the LORD my God.
Isaiah 27:
10 For the fortified city is solitary,
a habitation deserted and forsaken, like the wilderness;
there does the bull-calf [Hebrew: aegel] graze,
there lie down, and devour all its branches.Quote:
Rashi: Aegel. Ephraim will inherit it for he is called an aegel [bull-calf], as it says, "like a bull-calf [Hebrew: aegel] untrained" (Jeremiah 31:18).
End Quote.
Rashi appears to understand Isaiah in this section (chapter 12) as predicting that EPHRAIM will defeat and inherit the forces of Ishmael who are usually understood to represent the Arabs and Islam.

6. The Ayin Sound and Yank Meaning American.
Jack is short for Jacob. The "a" in Jacob in Hebrew is an ayin which may be pronounced as "an".
The name Jacob is recalled in the Union Jack of Britain meaning the Uniting of Jacob. The Ten Tribes in the End Times are referred to in connection with the raising up the Tribes of Jacob (Isaiah 49:6), The nickname Yank or YANKEE for North American derives from a form of the name Jacob. Within the USA, Yankee or Yank means someone from the northern states as against those from the south. Outside of the USA however, the nickname Yank is applied to citizens of the USA no matter what part of the US they come from.
[Isaiah 49:6] AND HE SAID, IT IS A LIGHT THING THAT THOU SHOULDEST BE MY SERVANT TO RAISE UP THE TRIBES OF JACOB, AND TO RESTORE THE PRESERVED OF ISRAEL: I WILL ALSO GIVE THEE FOR A LIGHT TO THE GENTILES, THAT THOU MAYEST BE MY SALVATION UNTO THE END OF THE EARTH.
This etymology of Yankee is explained by I. E. Mozeson ("The Word", p.20 entry: "ANKLE") and holds true regardless as to whether the name was derived from the Dutch Janke, a Red Indian name for "English", or from the name of a Red Indian Tribe. Whatever its origin, "YANK" is an acceptable shortening of the Hebrew Jacob!! This name was given to citizens of the USA and the name in Hebrew means Jacob.
"A light to the Gentiles" is what the British descended peoples and western nations comparatively speaking have been despite frequent moral mistakes. On the whole these nations have been the best civilizing influence the world has ever known and they still are despite everything!
"End of the earth", or "ends of the earth" is a frequent expression in the Prophets concerning the Lost Ten Tribes and nearly all of these peoples dwell at the geographical extremities of Continental masses when the Biblical view of the Holy Land of Israel as the center is taken into account. The servant of God (Israel) is entrusted with raising up the Tribes of Jacob who will be a light unto the nations and bring salvation unto the ends of the earth where most descendants of the Lost Ten Tribes now dwell. The Land of Israel in Biblical terms is the center of the earth and when measured from it most descendants of the Lost Ten Tribes dwell in the geographical extremities, on the ends of the earth. The Tribes of Israel are Jacob and are represented by the Union Jack and the nickname Yank meaning Jacob.
Rabbi Avraham Feld has pointed out that in Chinese the word "Yank" (for American) is rendered as "eagle".
The USA is represented by an eagle.

7. Aegel was a common name amongst the Anglo-Saxons.
We have seen how in ancient Europe the terms Angle and Aegel were interchangeable. The Saxons allowed themsleves to be considerec Angles and their land to be named Angle-land or England.
The genealogist Betty Rhodes drew our attention to a source saying that the name Aegel was a common name amongst the Saxons of England.
From Elesham to Aylsham . . .
http://www.edp24.co.uk/Content/Community/Aylsham/asp/history.asp
Quote:
It is thought that Aylshams history dates from around 500AD when a Saxon called Aegel (a common name) set up his homestead here. As Ham means homestead, the new village would have been known as Aegels Ham. About 300 years later, when the Danes arrived, the village would have been sufficiently well established to keep its Saxon name.Aylshams known history dates back to pre-Norman times. It was recorded as Elesham in the Domesday Book and had around 2370 cultivated acres, 25 of meadow and 640 of woodland. The remaining 1000 acres was wild.
End Quote.

8. Conclusion
Ephraim is equated with a bull-calf. In Hebrew the word for bull-calf is aegel. The word we transliterate as aegel could alternatively be pronounced as Angle.
So too the ethnic name Angle could be pronounced as Aegel, the same as in Hebrew.
The Angles gave their name to ENGLAND. This is also where we get the expression Anglo-Saxon and Anglo from.
The group of peoples referred to today as Anglo-Saxon today are those whom we consider to be dominated by the Tribes of Joseph, Ephraim and Manasseh.
It is a proof of Divine Providence that the term they are referred to by, i.e. Anglo, derived fros from Angle which in Hebrew means bull-calf and bull-calf was another name for Ephraim!
