The Prophet Balaam and Barak Hussein.
Obama, Fareed, and the Promises to Israel.
America, Britain, and the offshoots of Britain are descendants of Joseph. At the least descendants of Joseph comprise part of their populations, inlfuence their national characters, and determine key aspects of their national behavior.
Joseph became the de facto administrator of Egypt. He saved Egypt and all the surrounding regions from famine. Joseph was the Provider.
6 Now Joseph was the ruler over the land; he was the one who sold to all the people of the land.
So too descendants of Joseph have traded with all the peoples of the earth. They have made international trade possible. They have saved a good portion of the world population from starvation and disease.
It had been prophesied that the Ten Tribes would be seafarers, Isaiah 42:10. They would be represented by the lion and unicorn as Britain was (Numbers 23:22-24).
They would be a blessing to others.
IN THY SEED SHALL ALL THE NATIONS OF THE EARTH BE BLESSED (Genesis 26:4).
THOU SHALT BE A BLESSING ( Genesis 12:2)
IN THEE SHALL ALL FAMILIES OF THE EARTH BE BLESSED (Genesis 12:3)
SEEING THAT ABRAHAM SHALL SURELY BECOME A GREAT AND MIGHTY NATION, AND ALL THE NATIONS OF THE EARTH SHALL BE BLESSED IN HIM? (Genesis 18:18).
AND IN THY SEED SHALL ALL THE NATIONS OF THE EARTH BE BLESSED (Genesis 22:18).
AND THEIR SEED SHALL BE KNOWN AMONG THE GENTILES, AND THEIR OFFSPRING AMONG THE PEOPLE: ALL THAT SEE THEM SHALL ACKNOWLEDGE THEM, THAT THEY ARE THE SEED WHICH THE LORD HATH BLESSED (Isaiah 61:9).
They would possess military might on a world scale with all the nations of the earth powerless before them:
8 The remnant of Jacob
Will be among the nations,
Among many peoples
Like a lion among the beasts of the forest,
Like a young lion among flocks of sheep,
Which, if he passes through,
Tramples down and tears,
And there is none to rescue.
9 Your hand will be lifted up against your adversaries,
And all your enemies will be cut off.
They would become the Battle-Axe of the Almighty (Jeremiah 51:19) i.e. the "Policeman of the Globe."
This is what they did become.
The British Empire at its height covered a quarter of the globe and a quarter of its population.
#...the British Empire created the first truly global market. # 170
Britain was the greatest and most successful exporter of its culture and values in history.
Britain relied on its navy rather than on direct military force.
The British army was so small that the German chancellor Otto von Bismarck once quipped that, were the British ever to invade Germany, he would simply have the police force of Berlin arrest them all. 181
Britain (1845-1870) had 2% per cent of the world's population, 30 % of global GDP, 20% of world trade, 40% of world manufacturing trade.
# Nial Ferguson has argued that the British Empire is responsible for the world-wide spread of the English language, banking, the common law, Protestantism, team sports, the limited state, representative government, and the idea of liberty.
There were also negative aspects.
The French and Dutch also had large Empires that were relatively enlightened and beneficial.
In both France and the Netherlands we find significant settlement of descendants of the Lost Ten Tribes of Israel.
At all events, due to the Imperialism of descendants of Israel,
West European ideas, ideals, and practices reached all over the earth.
In 1860 Britain produced 53% of world's iron (# then a sign of supreme industrial strength #); in 1914 less than 10%.
In 1914 Britain however was still the world financial capital. Returns from overseas investments masked its economic decline.
2. The Overlap Between the USA and Britain
The USA equaled Britain in most fields by 1870 and surpassed it in the 1880s.
The British and Americans had ambivalent attitudes towards each other.
On the one hand they recognized common bonds of language, culture, and ancestry.
The New York Times (1897) on behalf of the USA said:
# "We are a part, and a great part, of the greater Britain which seems so plainly destined to dominate this planet". # 171
On the other hand the Americans had traditions of anti-British agitation while the British had always been against allowing any potential rival becoming too powerful. Between the two world wars there were numerous points of fiction between Britain and the USA. They were economic rivals. They had differences of opinion concerning Ireland and other matters, and the British resented the increase in US naval power. It was a touch-and-go situation at times but in light of the growth of Germany and Japan eventually the British came to consider US aggrandizement the lesser evil. Britain did not resist the rise of the USA but rather acceded to it.
# It was a strategic masterstroke. # 177
# As a result, Britain remained the master of the seas, controlling its lanes and pathways with "five keys" that were said to lock up the world, Singapore, the Cape of Africa, Alexandria, Gibraltar, and Dover. # 178
World War-2 ended the greatness of Britain but Albion retained influence due to the personality of Churchill. The USA had been paying most of the Allies economic costs.
# In return for its loans to London [in World War-2] the United States took over dozens of British bases in the Caribbean, the Indian Ocean, and the Pacific. # 179
3. The USA
In 1900 the demand for wheat was increasing in Europe and elsewhere yet thanks to America the price went down by 20 to 35 per cent in Europe. 19
The USA has been a source of blessing for the world in general.
"With 5 per cent of the world's population, the United States has generated between 20 to 30 per cent of world output for 125 years". 41
# The US economy has been the world's largest since the middle of the 1880s, and it remains so today. # 180
The USA seamlessly took over from Britain. America continued to play the same role previously fulfilled by the British Empire.
#American tentacles and interests are spread as widely today as were Britain's at the height of its empire. For those who believe that America's place in the world is wholly different from that of the British Empire it is instructive to read the "Base Structure Report" for fiscal year 2006. In it, the Department of Defense boasts of being 'one of the world's largest landlords'! The report lists a sprawling network of 766 bases in forty foreign countries from Antigua to the United Kingdom. These overseas bases were worth at least $2127 billion in 2005, housed 197,000 uniformed personnel and an equal number of dependents and civilian officials, and employed an additional 81,000 local foreign hires?# 238
#The American military, in contrast, dominates at every level; land, air, space; and spends more than the next fourteen countries put together, accounting for almost 50 per cent of global defense spending. # 181
LIke Britain in its day the USA has become the Policeman of the Globe but with a vengeance intervening everywhere and anywhere usually ion the side of humanitarian values and justice but sometimes not quite so.
This was what was prophesied about israel become the battle-axe of the Almighty.
# The United States spends more on defense research and development than the rest of the world put together. And, crucially, it does all this without breaking the bank. # 181
It was not all gunboat diplomacy however but rather more of a genuine basic altruism tinged with some self-interest.
An example of American kindness (for want of a better word) may be seen in the Green Revolution.
"The Green Revolution" refers to improvements in agricultural methods and crops
in the 1950s and 1960s that saved millions of people from starvation. "The Green Revolution" was an American initiative with American money , methodology, and
expertise. Millions of Asians today are alive because of it.
It is often forgotten but should not be since historically it was very important and to our mind reflects another aspect of the blessing Joseph has brought to the world.
Wikipedia. The Green Revolution
The Green Revolution is a term used to describe the worldwide transformation of agriculture that led to significant increases in agricultural production between the 1940s and 1960s. This transformation occurred as the result of programs of agricultural research, extension, and infrastructural development, instigated and largely funded by the Rockefeller Foundation, along with the Ford Foundation and other major agencies. The Green Revolution in agriculture helped food production to keep pace with worldwide population growth.
The production increases fostered by the Green Revolution are widely credited with having helped to avoid widespread famine, and it is often claimed that Green Revolution agriculture is responsible for feeding billions of people.
The world population has grown by about four billion since the beginning of the Green Revolution and most believe that, without the Revolution, there would be greater famine and malnutrition than the UN presently documents (approximately 850 million people suffering from chronic malnutrition in 2005). The average person in the developing world consumes about 25% more calories per day now than before the Green Revolution.
Nations that especially benefited include Mexico, India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and other non-Soviet bloc countries throughout Latin American, Asia, and North Africa.
The USA continued the role of the British in spreading the English language and Hebrew values.
Today, almost one fourth of the world's population, 1.5 billion people, can speak some English. # 79
# Some 80 per cent of the electronically stored information in the world is in English. # 80
The USA in many ways is a continuation of the British Empire but with characteristics typical of Machir of Manasseh rather than the aristocratic-oriented Tribe of Ephraim. The USA is big and emphasizes size. The Commentators noted that Manasseh was greater than Ephraim in size and wealth even when Ephraim was predominant.
Part of the American lead over other nations is due to its research capabilities and innovations. The Jewish population both in the USA and in Israel contributes greatly to this. The Jewish intellectual and innovative influence comes not only from the Jews themselves but also from their Gentile co-workers who are influenced by them. This phenomenon was remarked upon by John Hulley ("Comets Jews and Christians" ,1996).
4. Britain is Still in the Game
Margaret Thatcher helped turn the British economy around in the 1980s. Today London is once again becoming the world financial center.
5. The Future
# is the world's largest country, fastest-growing major economy, largest manufacturer, second-largest consumer, largest saver, and (almost certainly) second-largest military spender. China will not replace the United states as the world's superpower.# 93
China will however in many areas "become the second-most-important-country in the world".# 93
# In the next few decades, three of the world's four biggest economies will be non-Western (Japan, China, and India). And the fourth, the United States, will be increasingly shaped by its non-European population. # 74
In the short term, Europe is the most significant economic challenge to the USA.
# The native-born, white American population has the same low fertility rates as Europe's. # 198
Small families are a result of a departure from Biblical Values.
The USA must renew its Covenant with the Almighty or face possible demise.
