If you ever come to Israel or find yourself in the ambience of Religious Jews you may hear the expression "on one foot" ("Be-Regal Echad"), e.g. "explain it to me on one foot". This means give me a quick succinct explanation in a minute or so. The source of this expression is from a story about Hilell who was a Sage in the Talmud and lived somewhere in the era ca. 50 BCE-50 CE. The story goes that a Gentile who wished to convert came to Shammai who was a rival of Hillel. Shammai worked as a builder. The Gentile asked Shammai to teach him the whole Torah while standing on one foot. Shammai chased him away. He then went to Hillel.
Here is what the Talmud says:
The Talmud (Shabbos 31a) :
"..it happened that a certain heathen came before Shammai and said to him, "Make me a convert, on condition that you teach me the whole Torah while standing on one foot."Thereupon Shammai chased him away with the builder's measuring stick that was in his hand. When he came before Hillel, he also asked Hillel to teach him the entire Torah while standing on one foot. Hillel replied, "What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor: that is the whole Torah while the rest is commentary; go and learn it."
This saying of Hillel is similar to the advice of King Alfred.
King Alfred was one of the earliest kings of England. He laid the foundations of English Law. Winston Churchill considered him the greatest Englishman whoever lived.
Winston Churchill in his History of the English-Speaking Peoples (I am going from memory here) quotes King Alfred (849-899) to the effect that the correct application of "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Leviticus 19:18) is not to do to others what you would not want them to do to you.
Here is a similar saying of King Alfred from another source.
"Moreover," adds King Alfred, "do not do to other men whatever you wish that other
men should not do to you. From this one judgment [or 'doom' alias 'deeming'] a man
may perceive that he should judge everyone rightly. He need keep no other judgmentbook.

Anyway, getting back to standing on one foot.
Those of us who are aware of the Israelite Ancestry of Western Peoples as explained by our organization, Brit-Am/Hebrew Nations, may find themselves asked to clarify to others what this knowledge is based upon. In some situations one may not be sure how much attention is going to be given, whether it will be two minutes or two hours. It is best to be prepared to give over a short introduction (that is easily expanded upon if required) while figuratively standing on one foot, i.e. being as short as posssible.
The outline below is built for such situations and is also useful for memory and revision purposes.
Abraham Isaac and Jacob (who was renamed Israel) were promised that their seed would be extremely numerous, possess on the national level great wealth, mineral resources, and agricultural plenty. They would become the most powerful nations on earth, dwell in several oceans, rule the seas, dictate their will to the peoples of the world, bring other nations into being and have other nations dependent on them for their very existence. They would possess the strategic thoroughfares of the world i.e. the gates of their enemies i.e. strategic points giving them an advantage over other nations who were liable to be antagonistic to themselves. These blessings were to receive their expression primarily through Joseph. These blessings were unconditional.
All of the above has been fulfilled by the English-speaking Peoples whom we identify with Joseph.
That is what should be said first of all. If they ask for Proof quote the Sources. All of the above are from the Books of Genesis, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.
The Israelites were also promised the Land of Canaan and commanded to keep the Law. Dwelling in the Land was contingent upon keeping the Law. This issue of dwelling in the Land and keeping the law is a separate matter. At present this is the responsibility of that section of the Israelite Nations whose identity is known i.e. of Judah. The Jews should be encouraged to keep the Law and to develop the Land of Israel. The Israelite Nations split into two:
Judah, Benjamin, Levi, and a minority from the other Tribes became the Jews who in Scripture are referred to be the generic term "Judah."
The rest of the Israelites became the Ten Tribes who lost consciousness of their ancestry and became the Lost Ten Tribes. The main force amongst the Ten Tribes was that of Joseph. Even though they forgot who they were the Ten Tribes still had a destiny to fulfill. Joseph was to receive the blessings. The other Tribes were also to be blessed and each one had its own individual Tribal characteristic which it was to give expression to and which it has done. For example Zebulon was to dwell on the Shores of the Sea and the Sebulin-Goi (Nations of Zebulon) settled in the Netherlands which is the only nation literally dwelling on the Sea-Shores.
The Ten Tribes in general were to be mainly to the north and west of Israel.
They were to be in the Isles of the Sea and in the coastlands. They were also to be in the Land of Sinim meaning Australia and New Zealand. They were to have kings ruling over them on the whole. They were to be seagoers. They would have forgotten their ancestry and not be recognizable to the Jews as their brothers.
In the End Times they will return and re-unite with Judah.
The outline above gives very briefly the main points. If asked to give sources and expound more these may be obtained from our web-site in the section on Biblical Proofs OR from the Appendix on Biblical Proofs found in our work "The Tribes".
We should emphasize the Biblical Sources referring to Rabbinical Opinion (where pertinent, not every audience wants to hear about this) and historical and other secular confirmations as important but not the main justification.
See:
Biblical Proofs
Rabbinical Sources say the Ten Tribes will be in Tserefat meaning France, England, and the north. They confirm our application of Biblical Verses to the Ten Tribes as being in the west, a Brit-Am, in the Land of Sinim (Australia) etc.
Rabbinical Sources also say that only Joseph can defeat Edom and they say that Edom is Rome and Germany. Rome and Germany united in WW2 and the British and Americans defeated them. This in itself is an indication that these powers represent Joseph.
Historical Sources show the Ten Tribes in the Assyrian Empire becoming associated with the Cimmerians and Scythians, moving to the north and then into Western Europe in waves of migration. We also find Israelites transported to Spain by Way of the Sea and from there moving to Ireland and Britain. We find archaeological and other historical evidence consistent with peoples of Western Europe having once come from the region of Israel. That is enough. Our main proofs are from the Bible.
Quarrelsome or simply contrary types may seek to isolate one or other of the proofs and undermine your presentation from there. It is important to emphasis the whole complex of evidence taken as one whole and the paramouncy of Biblical Proof.
