"Pri-Tsadik." Another source concerning the Messiah son of Joseph
Rabbi Zadok ha-Kohen Rabinowitz of Lublin (1823 - Lublin, Poland, 1900), also known as "Tzadok Hakohen" or "Tzadok of Lublin," was a significant Jewish thinker and Hasidic leader.

He is the author of the work "Pri Tsadik" meaning literally "Fruit of the Righteous."
Rabbi Zadok is considered a leading Luminary in Jewish Chasidic thought and his writings are still widely read by those interested in Jewish spiritual fields of study. His importance however is not so much the effect he had on the popular consciousness but the influence of his works on the thought of great men who came after him.

This is a free translation of the relevant passage. Not everybody will necessarily agree with how we have interpreted it.
Rabbi Zadok seems to divide the Ten Tribes into two separate sections "Yosef and the Remnant [She-arit] of Yosef. " We are not sure at present what he was referring to.
# The Holy Zohar (Part 3; 115;b) tells us the main portion of the Assembly of Israel are the Ten Tribes. These have the attribute of Royalty ['Malcuth'] and are made up of Ten Denominations. The two Heads of Israel are there, Yosef and the Remnant [She-arit] of Yosef.

Midrash Breishit Rabbah 71: Rabbi Shimeon ben Yochai said, Everything came about because of Rachel [wife of Jacob and mother of Joseph, head of the Ten Tribes]. For that reason all of Israel are called in her name, 'Thus says the LORD: A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted for her children, Because they are no more' (Jeremiah [NKJV] 31:15).
And if not in the name of Rachel name then in the name of her son,
'Hate evil, love good; Establish justice in the gate. It may be that the LORD God of hosts Will be gracious to the Remnant of Joseph' (Amos [NKJV] 5:15).
If not in the name of the son of Rachel then in the name of [Ephraim] her grandson,
Jeremiah (NKJV) 31:
20 Is Ephraim My dear son?
Is he a pleasant child?
For though I spoke against him,
I earnestly remember him still;
Therefore My heart yearns for him;
I will surely have mercy on him, says the LORD.# Another portion of Israel is called 'Jewish,' after Judah. From these two portions will come two Messiahs:
[First] The Messiah son of Yosef, through whom will there be a victory over the Peoples of the World. He will reveal the holiness of Israel. They have the aspect of,
'Also your people shall all be righteous; They shall inherit the land forever, The branch of My planting, The work of My hands, That I may be glorified' (Isaiah [NKJV] 60:1).
The Messiah son of Joseph will prepare the way for the Messiah son of David who will come from Judah. After that the Almighty will destroy the Evil Inclination. #
This view of the Messiah son of Joseph leading the Ten Tribes in the End Times is very similar to that of the Malbim (Meir Leibush ben Yehiel Michel Wisser,1809 - 1879) who was active a little bit earlier.
